Well, my wall has been rejected, and is a really good peace of work, I mean, can someone explain me what is the problem with this one?

I like this wall, and I know this picture. It's for sure no fan art...
Hmm... i think the character looks fine, but about the bg, i personally don't like it, the bg with the stars, is it a texture? i see a cloud effect with the girl, and it doesnt collide with the star bg at the back, it would look nicer if you replace that star bg with a sky bg, it would look better with the character, and about the moon, im kinda bothered, can you make it look nicer? its looks weired, sorry, if i sound this rude to you. But i do like the concept of the butterflies its just that it doesnt fit with the bg.^^

I kind of like the butterflies but so many of them are overlapping it makes it look messy and there is a part of her lower on the right where there is a light beam thinys and it doesn't blend with the bg it just stops on her. and the moon looks strange to me too...

I believe the main reason is:
it does not fit size regulations. at 800x600 it is too small

@dragonoflore: actually, this person is using photobucket. photobucket (except for a certain few with special accounts) shrinks everything greater than 800x600 down to 800x600. that's the most likely reason why you are seeing it at that resolution. at least i hope the original is at least 1024x768 o.O
anyway, i'll explain the deal about fanart. Fanart is art that is not done by the original artist of the anime/manga/game (or by a credible, licensed artist...not 100% sure on this point though) but rather by a fan. thus fan-art. the quality may vary but fanart is often recognizably different from the official scans. AP only accepts walls with official scans instead of fanart, which is unofficial art. for clarification look up the word "fanart", visit the FAQ section of AP, and maybe ask the mod who rejected this wall.
the fanart issue aside, this wall could also use some improvement. for example, the chinese text in the bottom right corner does not appear quite necessary, not to mention the color is not the most eye pleasing and the location not the most compositionally wise. the butterflies could also use some variation, whether by changing colors or other wise. i'll leave it at that, because squinting at a 800x600 image really doesn't help my eyes get better. ;P i hope something in here helps. ^^

Yeah I had an unfortunate run in about the fan art issue. I had a wallpaper that a lot of people liked, I got the expressed permission from the artist and was going to credit them. However the only fanart allowed in wallpapers is fanart done originially by me (or you if you are submitting) Thems the breaks!

A tip for you guys using Photobucket: change your uploading options so that it will accept 1024x768 in its original size ;) If you want to upload a wallpaper even bigger...you're going to need to subscribe for more options :(
As for the wallpaper, I agree with people above me. Too much use of butterfly brush, and the color used for the Chinese text. They're...how do I put it...bells and whistles (if you don't what I mean by that, "bells and whistles" refer to items that are pretty but unnecessary.) Either try applying the butterfly brush more randomly and make the color of the Chinese texture darker, or you can ditch these and experiment with different brushes.

I'm not sure what the issue of "fanart" is. Making the claim with no real proof doesn't make it true. However, there are a couple of things that need fixed.
The tips of the some of the wings are missing, the moon is a weird color relative to the rest of the wall, the butterflies are too uniform and the Chinese text is only good if you read Chinese.

Personally I like the char scan and I've seen it before it's no fanart but the bg needs working. The chinese words do not feet at all with the atmosphere of the bg or/and the character. I like that it's a night bg but the moon looks weird, try a more subtle and luminous moon, and there are too many butterflies. Besides I think that perhaps birds could match the wall better than butterflies since she has wings and I can't figure how the butterflies relate to the cahr or the series looking at the wall. I like the idea that she's flying, maybe you could place a far away horizon line with some building to give the bg some more filling or change it to a city bay in dark shades with a filling moon at the distance. That might do the trick.

The official art for Valkyrie profile is handled by Production IG. The image in this wallpaper is not from that studio and looks to be fan art from a random artist's gallery rather than anything put out by Square-Enix, Tri-ace or Production IG. For this reason it does not belong in the series category (Valkyrie profile). It belongs in the artists's category however as the artist is not known it cannot be posted. Frankly quite a few of you have demonstrated that you need to read the FAQ as our stance on correct categorisation is very clear.

1. I believe your wallpaper was declined due to the image not being an official art and not because of its composing... though like asa01 and hillshireweeps said... you have a few things need improving.
2. If you don't know what fan art is, please look it up first... or else, guess... wouldn't be too hard would it? fan made art?
