My First Vector

Here's my first vector

I decided to learn Illustrator, using mainly video tutorials, since it fits in the field of study in my courses at university. I started somewhere around August 20 and this is what I currently have right now. Since classes have started again my free time for vectoring will go down.
I get the nagging feeling that it wouldn't be accepted if I submitted it now. Asides from the missing sigs which I'll add later, this line in the FAQ still bothers me:
"Vectors that use stroked paths will not be accepted."
I clearly use stroked paths but then I can't see how to avoid them, since they seemed to use a dark outline for the original version.

Session Zero is intended for wallpaper feedback rather than vector feedback.
All the same, your doubts are correct. Your vector would be rejected for use of stroked paths. Paths themselves are not so much the problem. The problem is that they do not simulate varied line weight. When someone draws or paints, the pressure on their pen / pencil / brush / crayon / whatever, varies. As a result, lines will vary in thickness and / or opacity.
The way to avoid this in a vector is to avoid the use of strokes. To recreate a line, create a thin filled path. This allows variation in thickness and looks a whole lot more natural.
