Hey, this is my first wallpaper.. and I guess you'll dislike it.. but still I wanted to post it.
I really was bored.. so I started playing with PaintShop Pro X10 and this is the result:

Well I will be direct. I dislike it in 100%.
The quality is simply horrible - pixelated and full of artefacts. To it comes the weak composition - 4x the same image, just in different colors. Resolution is not acceptable too. As a a beginner is always better to select a full colored scan from the gallery which is easy to clean (less artefacts, big size), and use custom brushes for background. Avoid using of filters and too common patterns.
I recommend a new project since for the current I don't see any way out.

Yeah...hmm... i don't want to be harsh since we're both from Germany but I've to agree with aki.
The resolution is not acceptable (read faq for more) and 4 times the same image? Kinda boring, isn't it? On top of that the quality is really bad. Compare it to other wallpapers on AP. You'll see the difference.
I recommend you to start something new. Take a full colored scan. Combine it with a background. Then, if you did everything right, post it in Session Zero. There, people will help you further.
Take a look at The Resource Pool . The have a bunch of good tutorials and more.

Basic is to not give up. All wallers here started somehow, and gone a long way. AP is not a open community, it accepts only quality wallpapers, that why we are the best and have such a great gallery.

It's rubbish, I guess. But at the first moment it looked nice to me, so I thought I could try it.
This issue with the "4 times the same picture".. Don't know..
I like stuff like this.. when things repeat, but in another way. I think this raises attention. But I have to admit that I first just had this one picture on the right.. The one with the transition between white and sky-blue. I really liked it, because the simple grey colour fitted, and now you can say whatever you want (boring.. etc.), there are still people who like simple things the most. But you can guess what my problem was. It was this "F***, f***! The quality is miserable.. what should I do?!"-situation.. so I thought I could match some pictures.. that the bad quality is covered up by matching them.. but guess what happend? The quality is still miserable.. even though I tried to save it.. it's just a little better..
What would you have done?

The quality probably went missing when you filtered it to only ines. +sharpened?
what quality did you save as? try to save at at least 80%
well. i really dislike the 4 images together part
this is a wallpaper. would you like to have 4 of the same on your desktop? i wouldn't
having 4 blocks with different images/characters/ideas is one thing.
but using the same image with different colors is just repeatative

i dont quite like the text at bottom right either.
it looks smudged and low quality as well as it don't exactly fit in at that spot. try it in the middle

That you won't like it is one part. But I would. Don't forget how Poparts became famous. 4-16times one picture and just different colours.

I suppose you use PS so he mean when you save as the wallpaper you can change setting like the format and also quallity.

I dont dilike the idea even if i wouldnt sake i like it either but the idea isnt that but just in a wallpaper like that maybe you should vector the charackter or extract it nd make it one colored like here that would looks far better then yet.

No! I use Paint Shop. ^^ There's no "quality safe".


Mh.. yeah.. my next one will be better, I'm working on it.. and this will take much more time!
