The story at the end of season 2 was not finished. They left a lot of things in the open. Somehow even with the good ending, i hate it when nothing really gets done. For two whole seasons the Bal Masque has been just appearing here and there but never really defeated...
I loved the second season and think that season 3 should be on it's way because at the end of this season, many things were left floating around. As frequency1993 said, Bal Masque just did small deeds with nothing really really big. I want to find out more of Yuji's powers and the answers to the mysteries surrounding the Reiji Maigo and mostly how the relationship between Shana and Yuji develops !

In my opinion, I think they rushed the end of season 2 too much. They could have done so much more but they just went ITS DONE! and left it at that.
Yeah...we can find it in season 1, right? it's the same. well, maybe it's too late for me. I just only had seen eps. 7...but as long as i saw it...I can get what did you discuss about th ending...hmm I can get it...maybe I will continue watch it...:p

Has anyone found any concrete proof of a third season so far?
Seeing as this is one of the few anime that've actually managed to give me chills during a fight (shana/carmel vs sabrac anyone?), I'd really love a third season, as long as they keep up the valid tempo/musicpicks for the fights.
But as well as with Rozen Maiden, I'm starting to get the bad feeling that a third season will never see the day of light.
Seeing as this is one of the few anime that've actually managed to give me chills during a fight (shana/carmel vs sabrac anyone?), I'd really love a third season, as long as they keep up the valid tempo/musicpicks for the fights.

I don't know if someone already made this point or not, but a lot of you seem not satisfied with the ending of season two... Why? I thought it was really clever the way they thought to end it. It's a little subtle, but that makes it more interesting.

First I want to say, I'm sorry I read a few comments, skipped the rest, Im too lazy 
so I might do something the are to other peoples disliking, and im sorry for that.
I didn't like the ending of season two, but the overall season was good, because Yuji got to do something actually, which made it more worth watching, In my opinion, And Kazumi is just useless, Its like a filler episode you dont want it! Shana and Yuji should just leave the city. And let Magery daw do as she pleases because to me she was the most awesome funny person in that anime. I loved the way her and Marcosias talks to each other, that book is just funny as hell. And When/if the third season is released, I hope we get to see more action, instead of that love rivaling which to me in this series is unnecessary, because to me it kinda just ruins it, I don't mind "love" in series, actually I prefer some of it, But in this series its just not wanted (by me) Because Kazumi is useless, and she is just holding Shana and Yuji back. But in the third season if/when is released I hope they leave the city to train or something, Because this almost destroyed the town (and rebuild it) And to save some people I think they should leave to town, Overall, I liked the 2 seasons and hope for another! The novel is already finished (don't remember when but its finished) and have no clue if its gonna be another season ...
In fact, for me the anime finish half-close half-open, in the way i see that, they are trying to let the hot spot for an unknown future...

I hope the J.C. Staff going to make Shakugan no Shana i.

Well I can't say that the ending of second season closed very well the story, but for many anime's that's a good ending, in SnS case, is a good way of ending things, of course I really want to see that relationship between Shana and Yuuji grow up, but it's not neccesary one more season, could be an OVA. From the end of season two,you can make your own conclusion, they will be together, Kazumi will find someone else (I don't hate her, she just was in the wrong moment, she can't compete with Shana!) Yuuji's friend maybe will try again with Kazumi(I hope he doesn't get rejected again!), so most of the things you say that are left half-open, they are left to your imagination, sometimes is better, and if you haven't have enought like me, well there's still a manga to be read, or the light novel, but season three i really doubt it.

I felt as good as SNS was, the first season was the best but the second season could have been better. If a third season was to be made, i really hope it could be as good as the first season and have more plot behind it.

I don't see why they shouldn't make a season 3, they left so many story ends open they have to do something with them. there's no doubt it's been a roaring success, why stop it now?
