I think a better question is who cares? I mean HALO 1 was awesome but ever since then it's been massive disappointment. If I want a good Bungie title, I think I'll go back to playing Oni.

FINALLY. I found someone else who agrees that Oni was a superb title.
As for Halo, I have to agree with Spudsy. Though, I didn't mind two that much, all three was, was about the multiplayer. The story of it all seems to of taken a back seat. You know it's bad when a company goes from focusing on a story of a game, to the online.
All Halo has become is a cash cow now. It was suppose to be a trilogy and now their making an expansion to the third game, as well as a RTS.

Well i feel the need to point out they made a RTS for LOTR as well, In addition to multiple single-player games, and a RPG thatkind of resembles warcraft.
Halo did have a deep storyline, you just have to stop killing things long enough to find it. With Halo 2, Bungie tried to show the repercussions of your actions as the Master Chief in Halo 1. While i agree this did detract form the overall game, it was vital to the progression of the story that we see the Arbiter stripped of his rank and dishonored.
Halo 3 really was a multi-player game, but not just for Xbox Live. The Co-op campaign was very engaging as the AI was progarammed to be more aggressive when it faced two or more human characters. If you manage to find all the terminals you will see how deep the story is.

I think halo is good on live.
the story line's not that bad.. but it can be worked on for halo 3 =3=...
live is fun and addicting despite the lag, pixeled graphics on valhalla when seen afar. rofls. and also teleportation lags ? =S and alot of jerks trashtalking + t-bagging.
but it's fun xD so i do it back to them when i pwnt them... or at least my prof riends do xD

If like you like 12-year-olds, drunken college kids, and the incredibly clinically stupid yelling at you, then yes, the Live experience is welcoming.

I really love the Halo 3 campaign. I'm not much for the multiplayer, but the campaign, split-screen with a buddy is really fun.

True, but I found it to be MUCH more fitting for LOTR. I mean, you've got the elves, hobbits, etc.. I've always found that a game with multiple races makes for a better RTS.
What I'm mostly getting at is Halo was ONLY suppose to be a trilogy. The fact that they are still continuing the story, with no signs of slowing down either from the sounds of things, just means that their'll be no end to it.
Granted, I don't mind the story and I think Halo is one of the best co-op FPS games I've ever played. I just found that the series gradually lost steam after awhile and to be honest, Bungie showing more interest in the multi-player rather than first person is absolutely pathetic. It basically states, "We want to sell you this game based not on the fact that this wraps up the trilogy and that you've been waiting for it for some time, but rather for the multiplayer! GO XBOX LIVE!!". I guess it just gets under my skin when a game company basically says, "Screw the story!".
That's my thoughts.

The campaign mode that gives the exitement of this thrilling story by the main hero Master Chief such awesome journey which lies to him until the Halo 3 after the last mission, Master Chief goes back to his own slumber. Still the multiplayer mode makes enjoyable too as well, there are many players around the world who skilled than myself, I believe so. Many of my friends who addicted from that game; the brutality, slashing through your body, get explodes in seconds like boom and many more. Although not really a boring game.
Right now I'm looking for other games makes my interest gets in the hook. Especially playing towards like Tales of the World 2, FF Disidia, Kidou Senshi Gundam vs Gundam and others that I played.
That is all what I said. Games are interesting as long my mood will pump up like 1000 turbines of tension. XD

Halo never gets old. You never get bored when playing online. I can't wait til the next Halo game to come out. THE HUMANS WILL DEFEAT THE COVENANT!

I have to agree with hunter, in order to really appreciate the story then you have to slow down the killing spree to find all the goodies. but at the same time i also have to agree with spudsy halo on live really sucks with all the .....flavors.... of personalities. from the 12 yearold general that has no life to the pothead that has even less of a life to the dudes that sound kinda older but take it way to seriously they all kinda screw up the fun when playing with others.
and i guess what crimson is saying has some merit. at the end of halo 3 on legendary it looks like they are going to make a halo 4 or redo marathon or something like that. so yeah i guess they don't know when to quit. and it pains me to say that because even though i would like to see the story they are going to try to tell in ODST, it seems from all the news that bungie is posting on it's site about the game play it's gear mostly toward the multi player aspect of the game, which makes me wonder whether or not it will really add anything meaning full to the game.

Halo games have never seized to amaze me! That story is beautiful and totally epic. And I think the post itself is wrong! It should be Humans or Covenant cause Humans and the Heretics are now on the same side! >.<

I really loved Halo 1 and 3, yet 2 was a dissapointment... But I can't really say who would win. They probably are kinda at the same stage. Humans, well they lost Master Chief, but I guess there could be more people with that suit thingy. Heretic is rambo, but I don't know if he is that good at the end, maybe taking advantage from others xD
Halo 3's terminals told a very deep and sophisticated story there; it also has more actual characters than the first so I don't see how the story is less than the first game?
How is being a cash cow if it's the expansion to Halo 3's story (which is getting criticized) and is going to retail cheap and improve one of the weapons is beyond me.
The online is fun to me, I rarely use the mike unless my opponent or teammates can hold an intelligent convo but for arguments sake Halo is an aggressive game. If you want something a more child friendly and peaceful there's Animal Crossing which I find fun as well.
I respect anyone who doesn't like Halo just as anyone who does, just remember there's a thin line between bashing a game and stating it's actual flaws. For instance this game isn't as innovative as Halo 1 because it's a sequel trying to refine it's source material.
Just my thoughts anyway......
