Now, I have no clue what is this anime is about. So, I won't be much help.
Anyway, I think your picture is too grainy and blurry. It looks like you stretched it. Is there any possible way you could fix this? Or is suppose to be that way? Anyway, if you fix it, it will help out on the darkness level of the wallpaper. It will add some levels of darkness due to what you are going for.
What is the white glowing line things on your wallpaper? It seems like it was added by you. It is too separate from the background, I feel.

For me, I got nothing.. XD I am not used to just using scans on my wallpaper. I have to add some other added elements and draw other things in there.

First thing, dont sumbit a comment if people dont comment on it...
2nd, the picture is to grainy, so dont use screenshots or something, and if you do, always cleam them....
3th, you should put in a character, not some images that are fading away, the fire on the background is taking all of the focus, so have a charater that takes the focus on it sintead of the fire

1.The text is too plain...the color of it is off and it looks (bad)
2.Is the bg a screenshot because it looks like one try using using a stock or another image thats cleaner (btw no screenshot can be cleaned up)
3.The tiny film strip at the bottom is too dark and low quality
4.The characters in the middle arent any good low quality etc

DO. NOT. USE. SCREENSHOTS.
unless you know how to clean them (and believe me it's hard to get a knack at this) and even if you do, use them with great wisdom (this means use them in a minor portion of your wall). When you'll be skilled enough, why not give a try to vector?
for now, i advice you to completely rethink your wall and use good quality scans you'll find here or on MT.

EVENTUALLY... THE SAME XD
AS everyone said dont use screenshots, because they wont be accepted anyways unless you clean/vector them. I suggest you vecotr the image and add your own fire and atmoshphere to it. As with the characters you can keep but you should atleast clean them and relocate them as they seem to be in a random place and the taskbar will cut a bit of their faces. The faded image of the two characters should be more shown and should be cleaned as well. Just alot more cleaning and some repositioning should do the job.

Yeah don't ggive up. vectoring is much work but it isn't that hard to learn and if you try it will be a good practice. just go to the vectorness group that is why they group is there to help. the image is really to blurry and just a screenshot isn't submitable. so says the AP guide. and the little bar where all the tiny images are on, should be removed it doesn't really fit to it. maybe it will fit in when you put them into a filmstrip which could go through the wall or place the strip on one side of it.
The anime itself carries a huge poteintial for a wall...what you could do...
vector (yes, do it) a smaller sized image (ie seita and setsuko's faces), and place then in the center of a black bg. then add a dark grunge feel to it (try deviantart for some brushes)...like an abstract firestrom
