This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Well well well, another game to wait for <!--emo&^_^--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='happy.gif' /><!--endemo--> Played countless hours on Soul Calibur II and more to come for i. Watching the trailer, it looks smooth and very shiny. SCII was so good, let's hope good things turn out for SCi.

It doesnt really make any sense if its for PS2 only since it sold most copies on the GameCube. <!--emo&--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blink.gif' /><!--endemo--> I guess it will be 'PS2 only' as in 'XBOX only' for the GTA games or 'GameCube only' for Resident Evil4. Wait around half a year after the release and it will surely have been released for the other systems aswell.

I do not hink that Soul Calibur is an adictive Fighting Game *runs and covers against the rain of stones* Sure has nice graphics, touching music and cool character design, but is not a game of hability, a button smasher can beat an esperimented (not pro) SC player... I buyed the II, bou i'm not getting the i, because the II wasn't that fun...

Soul Caliber 2 was a great fighting game. It got high marks from all the major reviewers. Of course, there will always be a small # of people who disagree.I for one am very disappointed to see it as a PS2-exclusive. In my home I have both the PS2 and GC version, and without a doubt the GC version is more fun because of link, and the overall better graphics + loading time.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I must get! SCII was awesome, better than the first... Raphael is so hot in that game - and if we get to make our own characters, hehehe... I mean >>; Yes. <<;Sucks it's only PS2, but it's better than nothing. Though it is redeemed that it is coming out this year. All is well in the Calibur of Souls.

I really liked SCII, i didnt play the first one.. so my opinion may be invalid, but it was very enjoyable to me. i played it everyday until my friend borrowed it.. never saw it again. i am most definitely getting i, because it will most likely be very similar to II and i loved it to death.

Personally, I think they should wait until the next generation of consoles to release a new Soul Calibur game. I love how everybody says Soul Calibur 2 wasn't much of a step up from the original, especially when you consider the fact that the home version was vastly superior to the original arcade version.Soul Blade ran on the PS1-based Namco System11 board, where Soul Calibur ran on the slightly hopped up System12, which still didn't even have 20% of the processing power of the Dreamcast. Soul Calibur 2 runs on the PS2-based System246, and while it does throw more polygons around than the Dreamcast's version of SC1, the difference isn't nearly as large as the difference between the original and home "port".So if they release a new Soul Calibur game on a platform of the same power as the previous game, and the largest complaint of SCII was that it was more of the same, what good is it going to do them?Just my $.02, of course.

I have to agree with Orchid on this as well. Surprisingly I haven't heard from many that Soul Calibur 2 wasn't all that great. I thought it was a great game, but as Orchid stated " as that it was more of the same, what good is it going to do them?" I guess people don't like changes? Who knows. The same could be said for Street Fighter as well. Although it isnt as graphically nice, it still has its own fan base. I personally think that Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike will be the last good Street Fighter.

So some of you aren't lookin' forward to SCi because of SCII's likeness to SCI? What did some of you expect from SCII anyway?More of the same? Is the 8-way-run not good enough? Recycled movelists? C'mon, Ken and Ryu have had the hadouken for the last 2 decades; Kazuya and Heihachi have had the Demon God Fist since Tekken 1. What did you want changed or added (particularly in SCII since it's such a main focus)? What do I expect from SCi? Well let's see, improved character models, improved background/environment design, improved movement (in terms of motion capture), a slightly (or heavily) modified physics engine, maybe some new characters and hey, maybe throw in some more modes of gameplay <- all these things listed (and I know I'm missing more) were just some of the things I expected from SCII since SCI. Same goes for just about any other fighting game out there which have lasted for at least two incarnations. And hey, some new things don't work, we all know that.Don't like the RPG elements added? Hey, Namco have provided us a means to unlock secrets in an alternative way. OK, so there's the traditional beat-the-game-to-unlock-ending-and-maybe-a-new-character. It'd be hell boring if I had to play arcade mode a zillion more times to unlock the other 100 or so weapons and the countless extra modes that SCII had to offer.<!--QuoteBegin-Aeni+--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Aeni)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->but is not a game of hability, a button smasher can beat an esperimented (not pro) SC player...<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Button mashers/ing? You can't tell me that that automatically makes a/the game flawed/inferior/bad. It's not the game's flaw, it's the masher him/herself. Mashers eventually become novices and then experienced if they invest time in the game. What's so bad about knowing that you could possibly lose to a masher anyway? Sagara Sousuke (FMP) says that the unpredictability of a novice can just be as deadly as a calm, collected, and smart thinking pro. They don't win as often, but shit happens. And you know it.If you come to the decision that you don't like the end product, then fine by me, and not just me. But don't dislike it because of a reason like button mashing. Nor should it affect your expectations for any of it's following sequels. It just doesn't make sense. In no way do I intend this post to be an attack on the already said posts made.Peace.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Note that I didn't say <b>I</b> thought it was more of the same. The Dreamcast version of Soul Calibur got a perfect 10 from both IGN and Gamespot, and was lauded as the best fighting game ever. It was a great game to be sure, but fast forward to the release of Soul Calibur 2 on home consoles - where it received, 8.5 from Gamespot, and if my memory serves, 9.2 from IGN. Pulling from the Gamespot review: <i>"That also means Soul Calibur II won't impress you as much as its predecessor, since you've seen most of these characters, their weapons, and their moves before, and the available gameplay modes are nothing out of the ordinary."</i>Now if you don't mind, I'll get analytical from a hardware standpoint.Like I said earlier, the original Soul Calibur was vastly superior to its arcade outing in the home version. Then Namco puts SC2 on their PS2-based System246, which makes for an easy PS2 port. However, you should note that the S246 is superior to the PS2 in a couple of ways, and Namco's new System258, which is what Tekken 5 runs on and SC3 will run on, is an enhanced version of the S246.Moving along, the home ports of Soul Calibur 2 come out for all three current-generation consoles: The PS2 version is <i>nearly</i> arcade perfect, where the Xbox and Gamecube versions are actually <i>superior</i> to the arcade version.I'm sure you've caught on to what I'm trying to say here, but I'll say it anyway: The technological difference between Soul Calibur (DC) and Soul Calibur 2 wasn't great, however given the hardware limitations, the differences between Soul Calibur 2 and 3 will be even less so. If they stuck so closely with the original formula when they made SC2, they're going to have to do some major renovations to the game engine to be anything more than a marginal upgrade.
