After watching 3 episodes of it, I find this anime to be not bad, but not too great either. A possibility is that the story hasn't really gone into full steam yet as the character has yet to learn of his full potential nor have we been told of his purpose of coming to the world.

Character-wise, it's okay. Sort of like Tokyo Underground where the main character gets superhuman powers but isn't trained to use it to its full potential (Ginta just barges straight into the fight without any clear strategy and only relying on his agility and strength). Baboo irritates me though with his "high and mighty" attitude though. How I wish Ginta had a cooler ARM weapon instead of Baboo.

Music-wise, the opening isn't one of those cool first impression types like Rave's Butterfly Kiss or FMA's Melissa. However, it's not too shabby either. I will just put it on average. Ending song? I can't exactly remember the tune.

On an overall note, there's a fusion of various anime-types in MAR. Roughly, I'd say MAR has elements of Rave (ARMS vs Rave Stones), a dash of Escaflowne (dreaming of another world and later end up there), some Tokyo Underground ( see earlier comment) and Louie the Rune Soldier aka Mahou Senshi Riui (for the fantasy RPG style setting)

Hrn to me MaR seems to be like Flame of Recca [because of the same mangaka xD] or Yu Yu Hakusho because of the endless battles to come. ^^ It really isn't that bad because I read the manga and loved it. Ah~ baboo is slightly weird but not to worry he will *be* cool. Not to worry I'm sure the future eppys will get more and more exciting. o.oV

I like this very much. I haven't watched the anime but the manga is very good, it's also very funny. I hope I get to watch the anime.

Anyone would like to give an opinion as to how the anime compares to the manga? Maybe a detailed comparison about the personalities, or the deviation from the manga's plot, etc.

Aww, I haven't read the manga, but I just wanted to comment on the anime. ^^;

I like the anime very much, and I hope to continue with it. Ginta is adorable and amusing to watch, and he actually reminds me of someone I know. It's a cute story, and I like where things are going, although I hope to meet some more new characters soon. ^^

Watched 5 minutes of the anime, and hated it. Wimpy guy got bullied in school, but having this dreams of "other worlds", blah blah blah. Quite the same feeling when I'm watching the clumsy secretary in the first episode of Elfen Lied -- except that in EL, the annoying bitch DIES.

My recommendation is to swtich from this anime to something else, preferably with a more original storyline.

Cool anime. I enjoy the manga but now evil_genius is way too slow with the translation.

It hard to determine if this anime is good or bad...
but to tell you the truth...i just really didnt like the
beginning...i kinda felt the the message it sent wasnt a
good one...a kid who gets bullied a lot should work hard
to become stronger, not runaway to another world and
automatically become inhumanly strong...see my point...i just really didnt like that...

MÃ?R holds NOTHING on Flame of Recca (the manga).

It was fun for awhile but I found I had more fun watching DBZ's Time Chamber then I did with the few times Ginta trained in some time saving/jumping Ã?RM. I want to stick to the manga but E-G dropped it so I don't think I care much anymore.

I do like Dorothy hitting on Ginta, though.

Being made from the same person who made Flame of Recca, I thought it was okay. The anime didn't really grab my attention, (because I'm more of a manga person) but one thing that annoyed me was the CG. It just doesn't really go well with the animation.

I definitely prefer the manga since the art is a lot better. Though recently the manga art has gotten sloppy. But story-wise, I'm more of a Recca fan :3

Ehh? its actually good? the first time i watched it i found it corny and decided to stay away from it :( ill check it out.

I just watched ep 7 and i have to say :

- the girls are Cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute :love:
- that dog/guy is cool
- we have a plot
