This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

His comment was a statement. Not a question.

Ah, I see. So after approving is possible to change to even a not listed resolution.

The first was a 4:3 wallpaper. The low res widescreen version has been added later.

Kath: That means that the first was 1440x900?

^hatesyou 39 minutes ago
The 1280x800 version has been uploaded by the user as a first revision. Might pay to get your facts straight before complaining.

We should go up with resolutions not down. Btw AP resizes 1440x900 automatic to 1280x800.

Well this is basicly something like a ''scan to wallpaper''

User posted image

well, the thing i need help on, or should i say need opinions on is, should i trace it completly wit hthe current faces on the BG?
or should i set some other scans in, such as near and mello?
and so on..well no doubt, L Will be in it no matter what

i would also liek to hear what people thing of the vector itself so far
(oh and, i know lights hair is purple there, it was liek that on the scan, but yeah, the moonlight is shining on his head...so if the moon goes away, i will have to change his hair colour)

If you vector the entire scan as is, i would find it way too crowded. having raito and L in there would be enough. for a wall, practicality plays a major role. scans are not supposed to be used on a desktop and thus, it doesn't matter how filled up it is. crowdedness also affects the quality of composition. no point in destroying a good layout by fitting in other characters that don't need to be there.

although if you are going to trace L's head as it is in the original scan, i'd rethink that. i would get another scan of L (preferabbly a standing image, kind of like raito). i sort of have a vision of him standing in that space underneath raito's left arm, looking over his shoulder at raito. *shrugs* i'm a highly visual person so i can see a lot of things in my head. >_<

as far as the vector is concerned at its current stage, i think it is just fine. i love obata's art a lot and you've done a great job vectoring it. so keep going at it and good luck. =D

Well... in a wallpaper, you need the negative space to bring out the positive space. you don't want to fill it up as much as possible. there isn't that much room to the left of raito in the wall anyway. besides, that's generally an area where icons cover up the wall, because many people have left-aligned icons.

so if i were you, i wouldn't put misa in there. besides, the battle of wits was between raito and L. misa was simply (and sadly) a tool, even for all her devotion and love. so she isn't quite on the level of raito and L.

although if you really really really times a billion want to put her in there, you've also got to think about consistency and find an image of her with a body so that she can stand next to raito. but i think this being a raito vs. L wall would be a better idea.

the reason are in order of descending importance. and because the first reason is so important, i stress again that it is important to have negative space. more is not always better. but in the end, my opinion is mine and it is only a recommendation. keep working and hope you can find the right L image to fit this wall. =]
