Pop-UPs. Thoughts?

Do you ever get those popups that say.
"Tired of pop-ups? Then downlaod ________!!"
I absolutely detest those. They're popups, that want to stop popups.... and then they start putting other popups on your comp, to make you buy their program!! Especially porn ones!

That's why I love Opera. Built-in pop-up stopper.
It's been a while since the last time I saw one of those. :bounce:

Also why I enjoy Firefox. Just turn off non-requested windows, and anything that really needs them, turn it on for that one page.
I installed the Googlebar, considering how often I use that site for research, which comes with a fairly effective popup blocker. I also use a HOSTS file which blocks a lot of inline ads as well. Haven't had too many worries since :bounce:
Pop-ups? What are they?
It's weird seeing pop-ups now, usually they only come up when I accidentally use IE at work. Firefox is the best <!--emo&^_^--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='happy.gif' /><!--endemo-->. Earthlink has a pop-up stopper for IE, but it seems like more of a hassle if you want to allow pop-ups from a page permanently compared to FF and it's handy blue info circle at the bottom. <!--emo&^_^--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='happy.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I hate thoes, that's why i got a pop up blocker
My browser prevents most pop-ups, so I'm in pretty good shape when it comes to annoying crap like that. The worst ones are I encounter are those stupid interactive flash game ones, for buying homes and buying stock, etc. They're really annoying.
Ever since I started getting pop up's I left IE behind and have never looked back. Have you ever been playing a game like UT and a pop up comes up and the game starts buggin out -.-x
The only thing I see worse than pop ups is junk mail.
One more thing the less porn sites you visit the less porn pop ups you will get
tested and proven.

I've been using Mozilla Firefox since it was Mozilla Phoenix, and like most everyone, I've never looked back. So much faster, so much simpler. Complies with standards and is more secure.
And oh yea. No popups. :bounce:
Yay for Firefox! <!--emo&^_^--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='happy.gif' /><!--endemo--> It's a good feeling when you know there are people out there who use it too.

I used altavista bar. Since I often want to translate Japanese site (though the translation SUCKS, it was better then nothing.) I've decided to try the pop-up blocker, and I love it. It block everything even the pop-up web sites! Well, then I had to Off back the pop-up. Sheeesh...
Do not click any button on that popup window!!.
Just click that X button on the right corner it 'll be suer that you didn't send any data to that site

There are those certain websites that somehow bypass a browsers pop-up blocker. I've been to a few that had pop-up messages when I was on either Firefox or I.E with the Google Taskbar.
Still I know what you mean, it's pretty damn annoying. Also, they have pop-up windows that don't even need a browser due to ad-ware and those are the most annoying, which is why it's good to have a firewall especially those.
The type of pop-up message you're talking about however is probably one of the lowest business techniques out there. They're obviously being hipocrits to try and con you to you buy their products. Those are bad business practices and only stupid people for them.

It's stupid...would you want to buy a program from someone who causes pop-ups?
