What Society tell you

In America we are told to pay for our education once we are finished free education and place ourself in dept to atleast get a job that is worth anything. The problem with that theory is that they expect you to pay for college when 90% of Americans can not afford it even with finicial help. Today I found out I am on Acedemic Termination. That is pretty bad but I been struggling for a year and putting myself through useless stress. I was afriad if I tell my parents about it I will face bigger troubles. The way I saw it I was on my own and should face my own problems but I was so wrong there. If I told them a year ago I could have atleast take fewer classes and got help but I was so afriad of getting help. The first quater I was failing two classes. I thought in my head it was my fault and that I will try better next time but I didn't. Even when I completed assignments and worked hours and hours it seemed no good. I eventually gave up last quater and went home early telling my parents I handed my finals in early which was a lie and I am paying for it know. Though I realized I am fine and my parents seem to think I need a break and that I can attend a local college here latter on and help myself build a better carreer. I am of course getting a new job and everything else. So I am kind of happy that I did this but sad that it had to end this way. But Society always forces us to have success and work on our on without asking help because that is WEAK. I was never taught that but society put myself to think that way. I wanted to do it on my own but could not accomplish my goal. I realised animation was not for me what so ever. That I needed to go ahead and tell my parents and I did but with a cost. I will work had know to help in anyway I can doing my own thing and not what I thought others wanted. <!--emo&:)--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> I feel so much better getting this out.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->It means that I am pretty much out of school unless I plead my way back. It is so stupid. They never give you a second chance after all the money you pay for college. Sometimes people mess up and maybe need a second chance. *sighs* But in the end stress is over.
That is why I decided not to go to college. I know in my head that I wouldn't do well in college based on my actions in high school.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I was ok at HS but my final year I was such a procrastinator. Besides I can barely write a paragraph much less a page so there goes my chances of passing college. Even if I did deside to go to college I wouldn't even know what I wanted to do with my life so it would be just a waste of time in my eyes. But I'd never join the military unless forced too <!--emo&-_---><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sleep.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sleep.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Join the Army: Uncle Sam wants YOU to die for beliefs not your own! </sarcasm> Eh, society tells one to do a lot of things: it's up to the human to decide whether or not to believe them. Example: tell you to be blonde, blue-eyed, thin. (Anyone see how this is partially leaning towards Naziism? heh) Yes, so am going to get blue contacts, dye my hair blonde and turn anorexic. w00ts to making myself look like an idiot. Ey, Mlle. Winter: instead of complaining about how stress gets to you, do something about it. There's a lot of stuff out there now for it, like meds and general therapy (zen and Qi-gong), heh. It's easy to say things get to you, but unless you take control of them, it will continue to do so.

You will find a job if you are luckey but it will not pay well. And even now if you dont receive a collage education you will be accepted for some jobs but not all.

<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->you know. i have nothing against the military.but i have a friend over in kuwait right now with the air force. and every day, i fear for his life. and so does he. he joined the military so he would be kicked into shape as well as get an education. for him, it's like college, as for many many many soldiers. except his college requires him to put his life on the line.i'm proud of him. more than any of my friends, but i also fear that somewthing bad could happen. i have faith in him, but thats not enough. i treasure the time i get to spend with him when he comes back to america. and he tells me how terrible it is to be in kuwait. nothing but sand for miles. it literally drives people insane.he says he doesn't wish that upon anyone.i'm not saying not to join th emilitary. it's just not all it seems to be.anyways, i was going to say something about college.i'm in college right now.and not because society told me to be there. god knows i don't listen to a damn thing society tells me. i went to college because i wanted to. because i felt i needed to. for me. i needed to be around a bunch of people that have the same intrests as me, and the same goals.i'm an artist. an artist can't improve without being pushed, either by themselves or by other people. i suck at pushing myself, so i decided college was the place for me. i go for animation. and i go to a shit school as well. i wanted to go to The Savannah College of Art and Design. but, at 30,000 a year, i couldn't afford it. so, i found a school that was an hour away that i could go to. what i didn't know is how bad the school was and that it was pretty much a waste of money. there had been another school i could have gone to, and because it was so cheap (being a community college) my mother said she would buy me a car for my commute. well, i said..."no, i'd rather have the better education". again, not because society said i should. but because i wanted it. well, i got screwed over, because thedirector of the program is an asshole, and most of the professors don't like me because i'm better than the other kids (and thi sisn't making myself out to be some great artist. this is because these kids had never picked up a peice of charcoal before in their lives). the plan was to be there for 2 years, and then go to Savannah. the problem is i didn't realize how behind i was going to be because of the lack of intelligence some of the professors have. like james, who gave me a FUCKING B! in his class. meanwhile, i was the ONLY one who did my work, and i did it above and beyond his expectations. he said i was absent twice. yeah...i was kinda at the hospitol the day before getting tests done, and he told me that he wouldn't count it against me (BULLSHIT). i know it wasn't the absences, because a kid who was only in class half the time, and when he WAS In class had a huge hangover from the night before and did NOTHING got a B+!he just hated me because i refused to change my style to make him happy.anyways, getting off topic.my point was, most people don't go to college because society says they should. a lot of people neve rgo to college, and never will. my brother for example, couldn't get into college if he wanted to.i'm not going because society says we need an education to get a good job.i know damn well to be an animator, i'm going to need to know more than what i can learn on my own, and i'll also need that digree when i plan on walking into bluesky or pixar when i graduate. especially as a 2-d animator. nobody wants those anymore except pixar. and pixar won't even look at you unless you can show them something amazing, which is something i can't do on my own. i need the push from my peers. i'm not going to college for society, or to give the college money. they're not going to help me if iw on't help myself, but if i show them that i want this more than anything, they'll stop at nothing to help me get there.if you're only going to college because it's what you grew up knowing, well, you're going to be miserable.if you want a career, for example, a doctor, you're going to have to go to college. you MUST go to mediclal school. but thats only if you REALLY want to be a doctor. don't go because you can be rich. go because it makes you happy.<!--QuoteBegin-Hybride+Mar 31 2005, 01:53 AM--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Hybride @ Mar 31 2005, 01:53 AM)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Eh, society tells one to do a lot of things: it's up to the human to decide whether or not to believe them. <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->and i take soem offense to that because i'm blond, have blue eyes, and i'm thin.i didn't die it, don't wear contacts, and i'm not anarexic.but the fact that you made the comment of making yourself looks like an idiot bothers me.whether you meant it as the people following the society -belief of doing so are idiots or not, watch how you phrase things. make it clear that thats what you meant by stating so, because at this point, i'm not too thrilled about that comment.

Some smart people we have here.Society is only a conglomerate of people; a network of individuals that make up a collective whole. If you feel that society is telling you that, then perhaps you should listen because after all, if you want to make it in this world, in this SOCIETY, then you'd pretty much have to play by its rules. And besides, it is not an absolute rule that you must do things by yourself. Anybody who has LIFE EXPERIENCE will know that you cannot go through life by yourself. Sure, it is popular thought that Americans want to be free and make it on their own, but in reality this does not happen. It's who you know and what kinds of decisions you make. No more, no less.I wouldn't try so hard on blaming society or whatever for your downfalls.Go to your local college, start working harder, and get ahead. Don't waste your time being frustrated because you lied a few times and couldn't get the hang of something.
