As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Not thinking of the extent of movie fluff. I'm thinking to the extent of a common place thug. It is more the concept of preventing criminal stupidity from causing more proublems.

When have police chases ever accomplished anything besides endangering the lives of innocent people. bring police morality into question.

It really wouldn't matter. SAT coverage is very effective.

Are old games harder than younger ones?oO

Last week I was very bored, so I played some very old games on NES and damn I sucked...
I just realized that they are damn hard! Of course after a time I got into it again, but I think for example the older final fantasy parts (the original ones of course, not the remakes) are more difficult than the new ones. you even die easily in fights against usual monsters. Of course it's cause the balance of older games isn't that good, but don't you think some games that are released today are way to easy? I mean it's good when you don't die in every battle, but hey where is the challange?! For example, Kingdom Hearts, (especially KHII) was WAY to easy, even in proud mode it's almost impssible for a good gamer to die... the only good things are the secret bosses, but people that always fight against teh easy enemies aren't able to beat them anymore... you just use your skills, or in better worlds you don't have the chance to earn skills.
Another example are the Zelda games, I loved them! Like Ocarina of time or A link to the
past, they had great quests and dungeons and it took me while to get through them.
I really enjoyed it, but then, there wasn't a good Zelda (ok until Twilight princess... lol it's great, but I will ignore it in this post), Windwaker and especially Minish cap SUCKED! (only my opinion and they just sucked in compare with the older Zeldas...)
I mean, Minish cap took me 2 days... I was very dissapointed, they hadn't any new great ideas, the most dungeons were the same as the old ones... and I hope phantom hourglass won't be the same.
Damn I lost the point... anyways I'm not good in explaining my statements in english...
so just tell me every1, do you think that new games are not as hard as old ones?oO

We have FFIV and FFV for PS1; I coulnd't finish them, just arived to the first town no far away from it (;_;) emoticon
They are so difficult, don't know new ones, the last one I played was FFX and was very simple, a single line, no place to fight to get "gp" like old games.

When to think of it you got the point.

Older game, some, very difficult. Long level with limited life is some element that older game is difficult than nowadays. Most older game had no check point, so if you failed to complete a level we you must started from beginning.

Older games were a lot harder then the games today. A lot of times they lacked checkpoints or save points. I remember playing lion king for SNES and it was hell. If you lose all your lives you have to start back from the beginning because there were no save points.

Of course there are some older games that ar just horible like ghostbuster (that game its imposible 2 beat with out a game geny) or back 2 the future is horrible but overall there are many nes games that i like playing even today

Actually I find some games a bit harder too. Probably because we got used to the style of gameplay these days which are a big different from before. Back then it was more like kill the enemies until you reach the boss of each level and kill the boss, and so on. The only changes are the obstacles and enemies you go through but our games these days requires you to solve a lot of puzzles which I find annoying sometimes cause I kinda miss the old style games and the 2D games. I wish they could do a 2D game these days just make the graphics and sound better.

Some games were harder back then, I remember playing the Super Mario Brothers for the NES. That game got harder every time you reach the next world. Also you have lifes and had a very limit time to pass each part of the world. Also, the game was really long and it was just with one hit you die except when you get a mushroom and get bigger then you have two hits until you die. I liked the part when using the fireball against the enemies. Seriously sometimes it would get hard towards the end then it will all depends on your timing for jumping and crossing, etc. I remember those days.

I think most old games are harder, both in game play and puzzles. And eventhough their graphics might lose to the new ones, They are certainly fun. Still some are impossible to win. I mean it.

I would have to agree that older games were harder. For me it was playing Phantom Fighter on the NES. I was pretty sure I kicked ass at that game, but when I tried to play it again recently, I got worked. I think the reason is because that gaming has received sort of a "mainstream" status, games have to be adjusted accordingly to attract a broader audience.

I agree.
All old games is harder than new games
For example Tetris
Try going on the max speed

You'll have a hell of trouble if you're not a genius

Even Contra is voted the hardest game in the history by a magazine

Old games is probably hard because
we can't really explore the potential of those games
or there isn't that many option you can choose

Many games today is pretty because it is 3D you can move to many way to dodge an attack. And because free roaming is a hit on the games nowadays the new games is just getting easier and easier.

Some are tougher and some have been toned down like hell.

Compare Devil May Cry and Devil May Cry 3.

Really depends on the genre of the game.

Well, this is all I can say...

Nowadays, some games are harder, but most are easier (depending on the genre of course). Games now give the illusion of a hard game by the length of time in which you need to spend on doing miscellaneous things, but only a fraction of people will think that "more time spent = harder game". I will agree with the people that the games of the past are relatively more difficult in terms of time spent and playing, than to today's games.

But in all seriousness they didn't really have MMORPGs back then, depending how far back you want to compare to.

Sidenote: Your topic's title had little to no sense... confused me at first glance.

id have to agree that older games were harder. in way, they had to be to help with replay because they didnt have the eye candy. ive FFA (ffv and ffvi iirc) for the ps1 but couldnt get into them. something about only being able to walk left/right and up/down and nothing inbetween. its minor but very annouying.

another thing is the regenerating save points which is new as of FFX iirc. and now FFXII gives you mp for just walking around. its nice when stumble down a path and you find yourself over your head, but, it kind of makes us lazy.

but, not all games now a days are push over either. ninja gaiden (ng:black and most likely ng: stigma) will kick you ass. if you think its easy, theres probably another difficulty waiting for you that you or may not have noticed/unlocked yet.

i dont know if this should be mentioned or not, but, one of the things i loved about KoToR was that you got xp for addvancing the storyline, hacking computers, and everything you did that way you were automatically at a minium level you could beat a boss with. hurray for not needing to mindless level up in a rpg ^^!!

Well, I finally finished FFVII but I cant finish Mappy. ¿Does that answer your question? XD
Nah, I guess there are really hard games for every console. it has nothing to do with the year.
