No offense, whatsoever, of course; part of this misunderstanding is obviously my fault. but you should have read through the rest of my post (mind the pun). I've gotten so used to the term "lag" I refer to most this slowing down as lagging, bandwitdh based or not. Being a PC gamer myself, I usually prefer to play on a computer when it is applicable, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't mind playing on a console. The PC being a multi-function platform, requires various other programs to run in the backround while playing games, for example, the runtime environment, firewalls, etc. While consoles only need the firmware to play games and to essentially run the console itself but will still suffer lag from the lack of bandwidth. As I said in my earlier post, I support both the PC and consoles, but, I am disappointed at the lack of games for the PC, consoles being prioritized. I hope this clears up the misunderstanding. By the way, if you didn't stop reading, you would have understood what I said / typed. Heheh

I would have to agree with that, but doesn't that increase performance of your PC and game (Of course it would cost) but a PC is an investment, it's not used only as gaming tool unlike consoles that's why PC were meant to be upgraded, you can do tons of things with them including programming your own game. And besides, consoles have numerous attachments that need to be bought as well: Controllers, coolers, vinyls, wifi adaptors, etc. It's easy to forget about these but it's quite normal. PCs and consoles are more alike than you think, but still very, very, different.
Neither is better.
Both are good in their own fields.
PCs are better for FPSs, MMOs and Western RPGs. Mostly because Mouse and Keyboard.
Consoles are better for Action games and JRpgs. Can you imagine playing GoW2 on a pc? how dull would that be?

Definitely PC.
Why? Not only the player has better control, the player also doesn't need to spend extra money buying consoles. Computers are like a must-have item in every house nowadays, therefore people get more familiar with computers. It is fine that the developer develops a game with higher spec demand, as computer technology advances in a very fast pace.
Cons: You need maintainance!! Your graphic card, RAM and Mobo (mother board) have to be changed if necessary.
Consoles are not bad actually, just that the player needs to be familiar with its control and stuff. I personally tried it before, playing FPS on a PC and console. I have better control of PC than console, as the targetting wasn't that great for me on the console. Yes like Bloodfox have mentioned, FPS are better with PCs.
Cons: You need to buy the console, if controller is spoiled you have to replace it. You need memory card. If it is robbed or stolen you will be in despair(especially PSP) LOL.

Console is specially build to play games while PC is multipurpose. I couldn't choose whether console or pc is good for games but I would prefer console. Console are build to separate us from ruining the pc program which can be disaster if there are many important documents inside it. If the console is broke, you still have the pc runnig with your work.

It depends on what kind of games you like.

Hmm... i think it depend from what the purpose. for the example, in graphic quality, PC is more good from console at this time.. because at this time PC has a Dual (even Quad) VGA using SLI or CrossFire. So, PC can render more faster than console. PC has ability to upgrade in the future, and have another function that console didn't have (like word processing, graphic editing, etc).
But PC not simple for gamer.. it required installation at the first time, not like conlose which have "plug & play" disc ^^. And console is easy to use for newbie or home user (not required basic computer skill).

I agree with you completely ncid6, I like console games, but if I had the cash to fork over, I'd much rather have everything on my PC. I get this lazy feeling when I have to play my consoles, but with my PC (TF2, Audiosurf, etc), I usually just click like it's natural. I also like the PC's versatility compared to consoles. I'm disappointed that I got Fallout 3 for my XBOX360 instead of my PC ... the mods just look awesome on PC. I say PC hands-down, but to each their own.

I enjoy the console better. I grew up with the Nintendo, Sega, Super Nintendo, N64, Playstation---To me, that's what I like to play games on. I've now just resorted in playing on the Game Cube, just because I have all the games I want on that.
However, I just don't feel comfortable on the PC when playing a game. I need my hands to wrap around a control, you know? It feels like I'm in control of the game, and it's just more fun. I don't have to worry about joy sticks, or pressing keyboard keys to move my character. I have a laptop, so it's really not about comfort, I can take it anywhere. It's just about getting away from the computer, snuggling and playing Zelda. =D

I prefer console for RPG and racing games, but as for FPS and RTS, I'll always say PC is the way it's meant to be played.

Even though I enjoy playing MMO's on my PC, I'm really pushed towards console games.
I currently own a Wii and a DS Lite.
In the past I had systems like Dreamcast, Playstation 1&2, Atari 2600, Gamecube, Amiga 500+ (though it was not a console), and a commodore and more (not a console too. Don't know which model) and I must admit that playing games on hardware that was created to play is really more enjoyable, at least for me.

I'll always prefer playing games on my console. It's just so much easier to setup. You don't have to worry about software clashing or your computer not being good enough to play the latest games.
PC's are much better for MMO's though.
