After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Fact: when the developers of Gears of War decided to make a pc version, they were forced to make the weapons less accurate to accommodate with the better control system that PC offers (keyboard+mouse that is) other wise the game would have been too easy. Dumbed down for console. Yes!

This thread makes my blood boil, honestly. From the OP who was clearly pro-PC to the people trying to play "peacemaker" who are just spewing an endless load of vitriol disguised as something a bit less sinister in nature.

It honestly seems that you are the one trying to start a flame war out of this thread. Everyone has a different opinion and it is possible for someone to be on-the-fence with a topic. I can't agree enough with LongBow, if this thread bothers you so much it's easy to stay away. Just don't click on the topic. If you do want to contribute, it's more than welcome I'm sure.

I, personally, find this thread to be rather interesting to see what people like and dislike and to see if there are any others out there that are like me, a PC/Console gamer.

Most games are usually with an auto aim for consoles simply because of the analog stick. Since PC has the mouse, it gives console gamers a chance to experience something that would normally be a PC experience while still being able to get a great experience.

Actually, Gears of War is a console original game and the PC version is a port. Something that has been happening a lot lately for PC games. It's nice that PC owners can experience more games, but when they make crappy ports like Lost Planet it's difficult to find any enjoyment. Considering they didn't do just a straight port and actually worked on Gears, it's actually a decent port. Considering most ports generally don't get as much work, it's a diamond in the rough.

I think consoles now adays needa start allowing for keyboard / mouse use in games, that'd prob make all the pc people like consoles alot more since most times its due to this fact. tho personally i only use keyboard / mouse for first person shooters, the rest are all joypad FTW

Long
but this can vary (ie. upgrading a AGP graphics card to a PCI-E graphics card require the change of the motherboard,

I don't even have PCI-express, just plain old PCI T_T.

Pc beats everything!

You obviously haven't played enough console-only games like CoD 2 (was 360 only at the time) Gears of War (see CoD 2 parenthesis), Forza 2, Steel Battalion, the Mario Karts, Zeldas, etc.

Arcticas
This was how they are...but now we will take a look under the hood
My PC: ATi MSI RX 3870 OC (GPU 800MHz) XBOX 360: ATi Xenos (GPU 500MHz)
My PC: AMD Athlon X2 6400+ BE (3,2 GHz,2Mb cache) XBOX 360: IBM Xenon X3 (3.2 GHz,1Mb cache)
My PC: HDD 250GB and 120GB XBOX 360: HDD 20GB or 120GB
My PC: 8x USB 2.0,Firewire XBOX 360: 3x USB 2.0,IR port

You do know this is a pretty useless comparison, don't you? Speed says almost nothing about the performance of graphic cars and CPU's and with HDD's the read/write speeds depends on the Brand and series and the rpm they spin at. But luckily for you, your pc is actually better than the 360. To he honest, when the 360 (and PS3) were released, high-end pc's already were much more powerfull than those consoles. The only reason that the graphics on they consoles aren't that much worse is because developers can optimize their code really good since there aren't different configurations.

Anyway, I have a a pretty strong pc (nothing high-end thought: Intel C2D @ 3 GHz, Radeon X1900 XT and 2GB RAM) and all the consoles. And i really prefer the play my games on consoles even if I would know that my pc could handle the game easily. It's pretty much always smoother on consoles then on the pc because of the optimalisation and you neven won't have as much problems. On a pc you'll have to worry about the drivers, about what programs are still open while playing, etc. On a console you just have to worry that it won't die on you :p.

And if current trend of pc games continues, I'm sure that I won't upgrade my pc very soon. Why? There aren't any games coming out on the pc .

The only 4 I'd consider buying is CoD 4, UT 3, Orange Box, and HL 3 when that comes out.

Those games are already out. But lets take a look at this year: except for Spore and Fallout 3, some RTS and MMORPG I can't think of any game that's going to be released for pc. I probably missed a few games but I think I named the most important ones and gengres. It just looks kinda pathetic against what's coming for the consoles.

PC gaming isn't dead and I'm sure it won't die soon. It's just not what it used to be and it will keep losing ground against the consoles.

Well your friend is wrong. Also, I'm a bit curious as to what you consider "classic" PC games. If you mean pre-Windows XP/DirectX, then good luck doing so in any modern operating system without emulation. Not to mention, if you bother modding a video game console like someone mentioned earlier, you can emulate old games on that, too.

I can run DOS games on my Win XP computer without any emulation...

I will always prefer consoles over PC for one simple reason:

I don't have to worry about upgrades, like video cards or more RAM to be able to play the premiere titles. And since I honestly don't care that much about visuals, physic engines and all that stuff, not playing stuff like Crysis won't make me worry a lot.

Also, lack of variety in genres. No offense to RTS, FPS and MMORPG players but out of those genres, I rarely see something else on the PC.

Even tho' I do recognize PC games having far superior graphics, I prefer console. I'd hate to keep updating my computer every year just to keep up with the latest games on PC. At least I know on my Xbox 360 I'll always buy a game that'll run smoothly on my console.

It depends.

I prefer my (online) multiplayer games on the PC as evident by my spending hundreds or thousands of hours on each of the following: Starcraft, Diablo II, Warcraft i, Priston Tale, Counter-Strike and Team Fortress 2. Point-and-click action-RPGs, MMORPGs, RTS and FPS games only work perfectly on the PC.

Most other genres work better on console for me. I also would prefer most remakes/ports of old JRPGs to be on handhelds.

I Said

Notice I said "when that" the that therefore relating to the last item mentioned, which is Half-Life 3, which is not out yet. Also, notice I used the contraction "I'd" as in "I would" indicating that these are games not in my possession that I am considering buying. I know those games are already out, I'm just stating that the PC market has not that much good right now, and in the near future there isn't much good that I'm looking forward to either. English is a wonderful thing.

First of all, I ignored what you said about HL3 since 1) it isn't even announced yet 2) we probably are already dead when that games come out. Secondly, I misunderstood you. I thought you meant that there are still some real AAA titles avaiable for pc.

I love building pc's but I do mind upgrading it. I'm still a student so I don't have much money and the progress is at the moment laughable (come on, the 8800 GTX can still be considered high-end after 1.5 years being launched). But above else: there aren't just any games to justify an upgrade.
