Console or PC?
PC gamer through and through...ish.
First off, I view PC games as a more dedicated and deep experience than console games for the most part, consoles feel a bit more casual to me, not including some very good, interesting games that have come out over the years (a ray of holy light falls upon Ocarina of Time), though few and far between they are. Also I just love my mouse and keyboard for the vastly better control I have over most actions, granted, sport and driving games are better on a console, but I don't like them so I'll ignore them (want to play sports, get some friends, want to drive, get a licence, want to blow someones face off, but in a fun, slightly less sadistic way, buy a PC FPS). Truth be told, there is nothing better than a mouse for FPSs (not that some console FPSs aren't still reasonably fun to an extent, I'm looking at you Goldeneye on N64) and its simply amusing to have my console based friend try to extol the vertues of twiddling around with two annoying sticks and basically just strafing desperately and hitting whatever passes by their crosshairs at the time, as opposed to gracefully moving your crosshair over the head of the enemy in an instant reaction and headshotting the cretin to oblivion (most likely why there are few PC FPSs that have one shot kill headshots as they're so easy to achieve). No wonder so many console FPSs have bullet time these days, mainly I suspect because it's annoying to try and aim quickly and accurately with twiddly sticks, though it's fun to see the ways in which they try and add this feature in to a plot and base their game around it. This brings me raggedly in to RTS territory, on a console, just don't bother... more trouble than its worth, though I'll be intrigued as to how they pull the interface off for Halo Wars without it just being annoying. But thats just my opinion on games.
More generally, I started off on consoles and I appreciate that they aren't bad things, but I've come to feel more attached to my PC than to my consoles, as I built and maintain my own PC, so I've put a great deal of effort in to it and due to my effort I am able to use it for pretty much any task I require in this technological world of today, alongside my excessive gaming, which is nice. This is another thing to point out to those people who say how expensive and dastardly PCs are; when you buy a PC, you arn't buying a console made only for gaming and being a dick on, you're buying a versatile tool for a gargantuan amount of tasks, sure most of these tasks won't require the expensive hardware you're buying, but once you buy a mid-performance computer, it will last you a reasonable length of time, not counting games like say, Crysis, which doesn't run particularly well on anything at full graphics, but most games it will handle fine, as well as your ability to tone up or down the graphics to your hearts desire and if you don't like playing games on reduced graphics then just try your best to imagine that whatever level of graphics you're viewing are the best ones and don't think otherwise or you'll just upset yourself or something.
But yeah... I've run out of steam and lost track of where I'm going so this may or may not represent a partial opinion of mine. However on a side note, people should not be allowed to pit every single console made against the PC, that isn't how it works, it's surely a fight between say, PC, XBOX 360, PS3 and Wii seperately, not altogether, because, of course it doesn't have as many games or do as many gimmicky things as all these combined, because you're fitting all of these opposing franchises in to the same barrel just so you can assail PCs (though granted, apart from the Wii they're basically generic boxes with bricks attached), if you go out and buy all these consoles and any good games you can find for them, you'll find you're spending far more than what you'd need to buy a half decent PC and the equivalent games (which are cheaper anyway), so screw you generalisers!
Console = Fine for many and partially for me.
PC = More fine for me (though slightly shot in the foot by constant graphical innovation).
(but like I said, not that I dislike consoles)

I would go for console like xbox 360 because it has so many great games such as Halo 3, Fable 2, Gears Of War 2, Fallout 3, Final Fantasy 13, Devil May Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed and their are my favourite games. Sometimes i really don't like PC because it cost too much over $1000 than the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. So Overall I would go for console.

The answer is that neither is really better.
Consoles are for casual gaming; you don't have to set anything up just put in the disc in and play. Of course, consoles are far more limited than PC's in terms of how far you can customize games.
PC's of course are not intended for casual use. But the fact is they can do everything a console can do (and do it better) and much more besides. The main thing letting consoles down at the moment though is their price. For the amount you would pay for a PS3, you can get a decent PC for the same price these days and you'd be better off doing that.
The PS3's only real selling point at the moment is BluRay; but frankly HD is such a small blip as far as advancements in video technology go (indeed PC's have been HD for years and years) that it's just not worth paying for until the price falls a considerable amount.
As for games console games are aimed at casual gamers, but as such they rarely have a life expectancy of more than a couple of months, after which they'll be put up on the shelf never to be played again. When you consider the outrageous sums stores charge for the games it's really not a great deal for the consumer. There are bad games for the PC as well, but a greater number of games with far longer life spans due to their increased depth.
I guess overall it is sounding like the PC is far better; and it probably is in terms of capabilities. Obviously you have to learn what you're doing and you have to upgrade sometimes (although, just because someone releases a new graphics it doesn't mean you have to upgrade to it right away. You don't really have to upgrade your PC any more often than you'd buy a new console unless you happen to be using it for cutting edge 3D design work). But like I said the console is aimed at the casual gamer, it's just the price tags are too high at the moment for what they are.

The games on consoles are better than PC games because the consoles have good performance and it's cheap but the PC needs a powerful system to play at a normal speed which it's why consoles are better than PC.
Money. That's the reason why consoles have been the priority for developers for years now. You will have a wide coverage for different types of genres and 'pick and play' games that are easy to use is the key (to some extent). See what Nintendo is doing.
To give a more recent example, look at how Crysis did. Had this been on the console, atleast piracy wouldn't have been blamed for below expectation sales of the game. And then another example is UT3. Epic realise the m00lah is all in the console what with Gears and the UE3 being liensed left and right by console developers. Hence their next Unreal Engine 4, will be developed for the next-gen consoles first, then optimized for pc.
To break it down:
PC = extremely large audience/ insane piracy/ few key players (valve/ blizzard) hardcore players
Console = family friendly/ easy pickup & play/ large audience for many genres/ a lot less piracy with the new gen onsoles

I always hear the argument that It is too expensive to build a PC capable of gaming. This is not the case nowadays and building a PC can be as cheap as buying the higher end versions of consoles. $500 for the tower and another $200 for a monitor and you will be set for a good 2 years. Then when you do need an upgrade you have a base to do so already which in the end beats buying a new gaming console every 3-4 years. Also the graphics are way better on the computer, even if you have a low end computer (AA and Texture Filtering anyone?)

...That is one long post my friend.
Anyway, onto my opinion. I have experienced a few times during my school years, the pain of my consoles breaking down because of my cousins using them improperly. Having one is a desire for many, but maintaining it is the real work. If you do not respect it, then you lose it. That much Ihave learned. So if you're wondering, I do not think that consoles are useless, they provide entertainment, gaming, music, etc. But they simply do not.. endure as long as a computer. Endure: (1) New versions of a console series continue to be manufactured (2) They aren't made of titanium and are fragile (computers are somewhat fragile too, but how often do you move your comptuer around?..). Simply put, I prefer PC over any console, anyday. Not only do PC's provide gaming, but they have limitless amounts of applications that are made to meet your needs. A gaming console is simply made for gaming, music, video. As an addition, advances in technologies have made it possible to implement (a) console device(s) with a computer. Now, I know this forum has a tech. section, but I do not have many details on how the people at the store implemented these technologies, so don't ask.

It depends in the gamer, basically O:
well, I don't know you, but I prefer using my pc for other things
rather than spending memory and CPU power in games -w-
So, consoles may get old, graphics may not be the best, but it's
not just about graphics you know?
Well, My favourite console is still being N64 :D

If i can play crysis on my pc, everything is good lol
I particularly prefer console over PC since I grew up playing console more than I did PC. The only real PC game I've ever played was Starcraft and I couldn't play people online back in the days since I had dial-up and didn't really want to go pay to play in a dangerous internet cafe with a bunch of hooligans.
Even today with all the amazing computer games out, I still prefer console games. I guess one reason is that I already spend enough time on the computer that I don't want it to be front of it as much by including PC games. A change of scenery when playing games is nice. Plus, I feel console games offer more to me than PC. All I hear about PC is first person shooters and MMOs/MMORPGs. So consoles give me more variety.

PC gaming has one advantage that consoles have yet to catch up on - user generated content. I can put has many weapons/models/maps into a PC game, but good luck trying that on a console.

I like consoles over PCs for one reason... nothing works for me on PCs. I can't get anything to work right. And then if it does, it gets messed up eventually. I once tried to get soem Duke Nukem 3D patches working and my whole computer messed up. I just don't want to have to deal with anything, I just want to pop my game in and play it right with little to no hassles.

I use both because really both can get boring so I switch off but usually i just play with my ds now and days.
Well, i prefer PC instead. good quality of graphic also, we can customize it, plus i can play galge game such as To Heart 2 X-Rated or Little Busters only on PC
though sometimes i envy the console user for the JRPG (such as Tales series and Star Ocean series) that exclusive only on console

|gamerchixI completely agree with GoldenApe,it just costs to much to play games on your PC. Plus game developers know that their game will make tons of money on just a console, why waste time and money trying to get it on the PC when alot of people won't be able to play it anyway because of lack of a good computer.Half the PC games out now practically require a super computer to play.

Using PC is lot more money to give
but if you think PC suck think again because you can everything handle only by using Console face it man that true |gamerchixAlso if they make their games exclusive to one console people will buy the console for it more wich makes them more money. It doesn't work that way with PC's.

some game made exclusively only for one reason that is about others can play this game else where that's why
but don't you think that is to much maybe not maybe |chrysIts 50 50. Some games are meant for pc. Some are meant for consoles. If all of them are for pc, What's the point of making consoles?

developer make some game for some reason, PC fro instant it uses much much more resources such as CPU, GPU, Memory, storage, all of that is for the use of computing and many think that should be done just like computing did it has great performance, reliability, speed compare with Console But Console also have some advantage like the price with only few hundred you can get the tools for playing game which that be Console but for PC using few hundred all you can get only peripheral of PC and is much more expensive than Console did am I right or not
So finally all depend on you to choose
