I know lots of female gamers, and I don't judge just because their female.
Tho' it is hard on girls to play online, because once guys find out you're a girl they are all over you with insults and sexual harassment. It REALLY makes me and my friends made when stupid stuff like that happens. Female gamers should be ENCOURAGED! Girls that play video games are hawt ;)

Na-ah. the fault one is those male gamers who play the game just for the fun of harassing female gamers. they have a dirty minds these gamers. really. what i mean is, if they wanted a nude picture of a woman, why not visiting adult website? they're connected to internet after all and we know there are tons of these kind of material on the net that even can be customized according to one's taste.
I'm a female myself, and i play games since I'm on elementary school; nintendo, sega, playstation, online RPG like Ragnarok and such, even played DoTA (warcraft custom map, battle between hero). i've never disguised my identity on online games and i just tell those who have a dirty minds to stay away from me of face my wrath! there's nothing whrong from being a female gamers. and in my opinion, we should be proud as female gamer! :)

1. Video games rock!
I'm a girl and i love video games! but there are alot of games which i think guys would like more then girls and any games aimed at girls tend to be crap! For example, anything where you have to look after some kind of pet... it's boring and repetative and you might as well get a real pet!

Seeing how people generalized the connection between "games" and "men", it's not uncommon to stereotype when it comes to the opposite sex. It's uncommon because the number of women playing games are still pale in comparison to the number of men gamers.
That's why I don't play video games in public anymore I got asked a lot of weird questions like that.
But I still play them when sometimes only if my friends are around me.

I find its pretty normal for girls to play video games nowadays. Theres just so much electronic entertainment around that its hard not to get caught up in it. In the 90s, now that was a totally different situation imo. I remember its always the guys who stay at home with their SNES or Sega and the girls go and do their own thing haah

Yeah, its pretty common actually, i know a lot of girls that plays video games too. Some of them are actually better than me in some games lol, i was like daangg. Most of the girls i know tho, sometimes tend to play as guy characters on mmorpgs, since they dont really wanna get hit on by the guys in the game haha.

But I've never witnessed anything like that (or experienced). Being a girl, all I have had is being told I don't exist. That was kinda weird, oh well!

When playing I usually "disguise" myself as a guy just to keep the pervs away... Although a good butt-kicking works too xDD

As someone that grew up on video games by having a couple of female cousins teach me some of the ropes and handing me a few beatings every now and then, I really can't say I react differently when I see a female play a video game. I think it's terrible when there are those out there that try to look at female gamers are something different from what they really are. At the end of the day, they're trying to enjoy the game, just like the guys are. There's simply no point to harass a female for simply playing a game for ANY reason, and I pity those that don't see it that way.
I enjoy it when guys challenge me to a video game session. Hahaha. And sometimes I cut them down to size, and they don't really mind.
Video games should most definitely NOT be a sexist topic.
