There is a hell of a lot more girls gamers today than there where 10 years ago, but its still a man world, i know lots of girl gamers that are good friends of mine, and they are really good at what they game, they also kind of have a lighter aproach to games(i guess we men ar more primitive and competitive)

I know that all too well, too. Ha! I've quite playing WoW for a while now but in my guild that I was in while active, there was a member who had a female character, would flirt around with all the guys and never showed "her" picture. Not that I have anything against that or that there's anything wrong with that, but there was also many other people saying they didn't know whether or not she was really a she. She would never speak in vent to anyone. Never.
It was just very strange. So, yeah, I can see men pretending to be women to get themselves some nice epics.

I love how people just assume online that if you're playing a character that's female, you're a woman, and vice versa.
My brother plays as a female Mesmer on Guild Wars, and my best friend (who is a girl) plays as a huge male warrior, and both of them are always assumed to be the gender of the character they are using.
I saw an argument someone started where they were calling a guy playing as a girl "gay", but then someone brought up the point that he's looking at girl's backside all day while the men playing as men... I love being a girl gamer on things where I'm awesome cos it makes victory all the sweeter! (I keep quiet about my gender when I'm something that I'm rubbish at!) You always get jerks asking you things but can they actually harm you? No. Are they sad lonely desperate morons? Yes. So as a girl gamer do I have the upper hand? Yes!
It's certainly never put me off but then again I don't go on any of these WoW type things where it might get a bit heavier. I suppose it's just guys trying to impress eachother, deliciously pathetic!

Some people are just horny freaks. Actually MOST people are horny freaks. Unfortunately, gamers seem to have fallen into that category. Being a gamer myself, I don't discriminate...well I do, based on how well you play vs. how much you talk..but never by race, creed or sex. If I was a girl I would get a voice-over and anything else to help avoid any unnecessary stereotyping/rude and lame behavior. Kinda crappy to have to do that but it's better then having everyone ask you for nude photos!

I love it when I play with girls at times. Especially when they're equal or better than me. Sometimes, it's just too boring when you're always competing with boys.. Most of them whine and stuff when you beat them. Girl gamers plus Initial D Extreme Stage is epic win! Especially when they beat me, I just end up on challenging them till I can't anymore.

The best way is just to say you're a guy and a beginner. Some people are nice enough to teach new people. I know my friends and I am.

Girl gamers are not uncommon but they keep their identity a secret to prevent harassments from Guys who doesn't seem to have a sense of dignity. :~/

I'm a girl but I never bother to play online games. The only thing I have tried is Maple Story and it got so boring.
