After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

I have a playstation3 and very happy with it. But do you think it is dying? Its lost its exculsive with ff13. And Xbox360 is racking up with the software, can ps3 keep up?
It is an offical statement that they are losing more money on the ps3 then the profit they made on the ps2.
Do you think the ps3 is dying to the competetion?
It is obvious world wide teh the ps3 is losing to the others.

Nope it wont. There will be always hardcore Sony fans. And to clarify your statement about the PS3 loosing FF13, I don't think so. Keep in mind that Square confirmed that they will finish the PS3 version first. Once that's out then they'll do the Xbox 360 version. If you look at it this way PS3 owners still get it first. Call it a "timed exclusive" if you will...

Worldwide its loosing sales? Yes in the past but the PS3 is starting to break even and eventually they'll sell in the long run. Sony designed this thing for the long term and so far from what I'm seeing and the games and features they are churning out, the PS3 is gaining momentum.

Its also too early to say that its lost its exclusive. I'm sure Sony will not stand by idle. They'll definitely offer something juicy to Square Enix as Microsoft has done to break the exclusivity with the game.

The point is to play the games and not the consoles. I don't choose who's got more exclusives. I choose the console with the games I want to play. I've got a 360 because of Gears 2 coming out (as well as the Live community), a PS3 because of Metal Gear Solid 4 (and a ton of other new games coming up), and a Wii because I like a tad bit of casual games (and so do my friends who come over to visit as an excuse to play with the Wii).

Back at the question. Is the PS3 loosing? Is Sony loosing this war? The answer of a true hardcore gamer would be NO. Because its all about the games... not the console...

PS3 sales surpassed the 360 sales on europe, however sony decided to prize us with discrimination as normal for PAL territories

in my opinion, loosing exclusives, ok its a freaking huge backstab for those that bought the console thinking on those titles, but what matters? im still able to play the game and enjoy the story, exclusiveness is mainly a company problem, doesnt affect much the end user (us)

you say dying, i say stagnant, its like they're putting all their workforce on the home project and forgetting all the rest. to the point letting one exclusive like FF13 to escape between their fingers like it went

just hoping FFvs13 remains exclusive

No the PS3 won't die. As someone with all three systems I can safely say that it has enough games to coming out to empty my wallet and take time away from the other two. Even though it won't die anytime soon, the system that's most in danger of dying from a lack of good games is the Wii. After the pathetic showing at E3 I don't know what to look forward to on the system other than Conduit which still has a solid chance of sucking...p(T_T)q emoticon

Just because the PS3 no longer has an exclusive title will mean that the system will die. If we based things off of such small details like this, than no system would really succeed. Why? Because all systems (I'm going off of the previous generation and up) have horrible launches. If we based off of the fact that a system releases poor to mediocre games for a small portion of it's beginning lifetime, then by the same standard your suggesting, no system would be able to make it past it's first year.

This won't put a dent into the PS3. If it does, it won't change much. The people who already wanted a PS3 already have one, this game shouldn't be a breaker. What matters most is the total lineup on a console. Considering the almost identical lineup of titles between the PS3 and 360, there isn't really much for the PS3 to fear. If anything, it's got a rather nice lead considering it's got Blu-ray capabilities. Still, at the end of the day it comes down to personal preferences.

What Cy said really.

Let's remember the PS2 had an awful first few years before it became a fixture in almost every household. People jump the gun a lot nowadays it seems.

If anything, the PS3 seems to be gaining steam lately, while the XBox360 and Wii are both starting to stall. I read recently that PS3 sales have finally eclipsed the 360 (don't remember which region) and that 360 sales have continued to decline, as expected without any blockbuster titles around the corner (no Halo, no Gears, etc), while the Wii is suffering from a lack of strong games outside of Nintendo's 1st party franchises. Going on a slight tangent, I mean really, what OTHER games on the Wii besides maybe Trauma center can really be considered very fun outside of Nintendo's own games?

The PS3, meanwhile, has Metal Gear Solid 4 and a blu-ray player, which I believe the latter will especially boost sales. One single badass exclusive non-Final Fantasy RPG on the PS3, or on any of the consoles for that matter, will make quite the waves (FF 12 in my honest opinion was rather weak, and we haven't seen an exceptional FF game since FF-X way back in the PS2 days, which in fact, was its first RPG I believe).

Hm no it wont die.Actually the 360 might die soon. The PS3 is equipped with a really awesome processor. Its so good that the military and IBM helped them making it.The thing about it.Its has 8 processors in 1.Out of the 8 only 1-2 have been used now.Its full capabilities havnt been used till now and wont be used until someone figures out how to use it O_o.But when it will be used the people will rather buy a PS3 because after seeing its new games (the ones that use more than just 2-3 processors) will have splendid graphics. So its not gonna die
Also loosing exclusives isnt a bad deal.Didnt Xbox just loose 1?!.It lost Bioshock (it was also on PC) but i am talkin about console exclusive. So it lost 1 and Sony lost 1.Blah big deal

I don't think it will die. Sure, there aren't a lot of great games for the thing yet, and it seems to lose exclusive after exclusive, but it's still a nice console.
While I didn't buy one yet, I might soon, since it's one of the cheaper BluRay Players around. And it can play games on top of that. This alone will make people buy PS3s.

The problem with the PS3 is, that a lot of developers don't really want to develop for the thing, since it seems to be freaking hard to program for it :/

The PS3 is still serving the hardcore gamers. Due to the Wii though hardcore gaming is taking a back seat to the casuals. The 360 came out earlier than the Wii or the PS3 and so it had times to have games developed for it before the other two even had a chance. That said the 360 will die out sooner. The PS3 while in some ways is a joke and a challenge for developers will have the superiority needed to win over gamers. The PS3's only crime (aside from the price in my mind) is that it was released with the Wii. Everyone and their grandma can play the Wii. Not everyone plays the MGS, Final Fantasy, and games that hardcore gamers love. It won't die, unless the Wii can grab the titles that gamers want.

That's very true, the only problem with that, though, is that there really isn't much out for the Wii that's worth playing. Yes, the Wii does cater to a larger audience and anyone can find something to like, but I bet you fifty bucks you ask someone what their favorite game is, it's either going to be Wii sports, despite how much fun it is and how many hours I put into it, it's actually more of a tech demo than an actual game, or an official Nintendo title. Outside of the Trauma Center series, I haven't really played a decent 3rd party games on the Wii or heard anyone really ranting and raving about anything, minus Chicken Shoot.

I use to be more of a hardcore gamer myself, probably more on and off now, and I don't necessarily think it's a 'hardcore gamer' system. If you'll look back to the PS2, it branched out to everyone. It had a huge selection of games for all ages and really anyone could sit down and play if they so wanted. If you really want to get with the facts, the Wii also caters to hardcore Nintendo fans. Hell, all of the current generation systems cater towards both casual and hardcore fans. That's what I love most about all three consoles. They branch out towards new audiences, while still providing titles to fans of previous generations by bringing back sequels. It's how people get into a title. I didn't get into Time Splitters until the third installment, in which I then went back and hunted down the first two. It's especially nice with titles like Final Fantasy because you don't have to play previous installments, since the majority of the time it's a new story for each game.

Don't get me wrong, though. I completely agree that Sony did somewhat shoot themselves in the foot by having a system that is rather difficult to develop for and the reason for such a high price point was solely because of the backwards compatibility. However, with systems like the 40 gig, which chopped off the backwards compatibility and lost 100 bucks, and considering more companies are becoming more familiar with developing for the PS3, I'd expect to see a bit more attention going it's way.

EDIT : Keep in mind that I am not a fanboy of Sony. I've got positives and negatives with all three systems and I own a wide variety of consoles. I'm just simply stating in regards to the forum topic. Just wanted to inform =D.

PS3 still got FFXi. And from what I know FFXi Versus is still exclusive.

Then we got Disgaea 3, Valkyrie Chronicles and probably more comming games. Little Big Planet and such.

So where do you see it dying?

I can´t understand why as soon people heard that FFXi was going to be released for X0 they started talking about how much Sony has lost the console wars and that the PS3 is dying and I don´t know what.

The PS3 is not going to die, for a lot of the reasons already listed here, but it's absolutely true that the PS3 is gaining momentum, while the 360 struggles a bit to maintain good numbers. The Wii has that whole weird factor going for it that makes it very interesting, but also a good bit more difficult to approach to developers, much like the DS. Let's face it, most of the games available for Nintendo's current-gen equipment are more like tech demos than actual games, which takes a lot of the fun out. However, seeing as how Nintendo has mostly abandoned it's previous demographic, they'll do just fine cashing in on their everyone's a gamer scheme. Microsoft will probably need to release new hardware in the next few years to catch up to what developers are going to create on the PS3. And don't even get me started on Home, which I feel will be the deal breaker. It's like Sims meets Second Life meets Live, and it's free! That's why once I can get the cash together, I'm going to get a PS3.

I remember that SONY said that they are thinking in a long run, if the PS3 is going to die they will not even bother to scheme something at long term

I don't think PS3 will die. Many of the games that are coming are only available for PS3 so people will be forced to buy it lol.
But IMO, I think that there are more PS fans than Xbox. I'm one myself. I have everything with PlayStation.

In a couple of years, I'm sure the price on PS3 will get lower so more people will buy it.
I remember when PS2 came out here in Sweden. No one bought it, everyone were stuck with their Nintendo stuff etc but after a couple of years, PS2 was the only thing. XD
