Persona 4

I've never played a Persona game before, although I did play Digital Devil Saga which is a spinoff to the Persona series.
Ive decided to reserve this game after seeing some of the trailers and footage on youtube. I must say this game looks impressive so I'm giving it a try.

I honestly don't know since P4 hasn't been released yet. However I have P3 and P3: FES, and I think they were pretty awesome. I pre-ordered it solely for the artbook though. 0-o Hopefully I'll get it.
You should play persona 2 and 3 since 2 have a completely different gameplay. persona 3 has a GREAT storyline and character development very rare to find in games today.
Didn't have persona 4 yet, but there is some south park teacher reference in it. Umm..kay?

Some South Park teacher reference in it? Whut? Where? Huh?
I actually am not familiar with South Park at all, so I'd probably miss the reference altogether.

You probably will recognize the puppet and the last line. Umm..kay?
Well if P4 is anything like P3 then yeah you should get it, P3 has everything you want in a JRPG!

By the way.. P4 is out.. well, the Japanese version, but from what I've seen so far.. It's pretty sweet. P4 I heard brought back that negotiation system with monsters that wasn't in P3, looking forward to see what it's like. I can't wait to go back and fuse all those imba personas XD -remembers the P3:Fes Helel and Chi You-
Persona is awesome... I suggest starting from Persona 3 (Fes or non-Fes) doesnt really matter. Persona uniquely combines an turn based rpg game with a real life sim game. You basically level up your character, but you can become stronger by developing relationships with the people around you. The game is like 80+ so be ready to spend long nights and junk into it. I warn you that sometimes it gets frustrating because the AI randomly decides to gank your character and you lose. Sometimes it happens often but if you get around I'm sure you'll find the game to be amazing
I am playing the Persona 2 Innocent Sin (only made in Japan) with an english patch an I think it is pretty cool. I am pretty sure that Persona 4 may be just as good. But I am wondering the same thing? Is it worth it?
I say you should buy Persona 4 if you really like Persona 3 & FES. One thing I have grip about P4 is the camera angle, I get some dizzy when playing in the dungeon.

Can't you do manual camera turning like persona 3? Should be in the option menu.
P4 is fantastic.. Only about 6 hours in but the story is already as good as P3..
This means more more money. The price is outrageous right now. I think I am going to wait till it drops in price. Please it is like $40 dollars. But I know if I can earn the money and sell my lunch for the next five weeks (joke) I can buy this game!
Well, technically DDS is a spin off, just as Persona is of the main franchise Shin Megami Tensei series. I've played most of the Persona games and I can say that 4 is very witty. It provides many similarities to Persona 3 as far as battle system and social links and such that both parts of 2 lack. Like all Megaten games you can expect a challenge but Atlus did well this time. They provided a lot of jokes in between the plot and such, which is similar to what Atlus does during Steamboat Chronicles and other games.
Overall I say it's a pretty good buy and if you want to get it I suggest not waiting too long. See Atlus screws with fans buy having an initial release. Then stopping production or holding copies so the price rises while slowly releasing just a few copies back into the market so if you don't get it soon it will be hard to find.

I definitely think that this game is worh playing. So many of my friends have said wonderful comments about it and by the creators' reputation for Persona 3, I think this won't be a disappointment.
