Your favorite console, and why.
I want to throw my f**king xbox 360 out the damn window. I've had it for a little over a month, and the piece of shit keeps freezing CONSTANTLY. it's on it's side, playing games of the HD, with nothing else around it. Why is it that Microsoft can't make something that just WORKS? If it didn't have all the hardware problems, the games would be pretty good. But the problem is, I can't even PLAY the games because after playing for 20 minutes, it FREEZES AGAIN. Ad trying to contact Microsoft to have them fix it? what a joke.
The PS3 is pretty cool, just still way overpriced. But hardware wise, it's great. Not many games on it for me personally, but I've been greatly enjoying some o the PSN games like flower and eden.
The system of the current gens that I have played the most games on is the wii. I enjoy the games I have for it, and I have a lot of them. Yeah, there's totally a ton of crap for it, but games like Zelda, Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, and the Trauma center games (which are hysterical) shine above them. Plus. the port over of Okami.
But...best console ever?
I think I would say my N64, although I very much loved the dreamcast (POWER STONE FTW). We keep the xbox, ps3, wii, ps2, dreamcast and saturn hooked up to the main TV.

I'm a Nintendo fan. only Nintendo has pokemon, mario, and sonic. but on top of that, i've been following the Nintendo consoles since GBC and NES.
ZeroLogiconly Nintendo has pokemon, mario, and sonic.
You were right on two out of three. Sonic is still property of Sega and therefore has appeared on all three consoles because Sega is not owned by Nintendo. Considering you've been playing games since the NES period, I would of figured that you knew that Sonic was Sega's pride and joy ; ).
I've enjoyed many consoles over the years, from the NES to the current generation of systems. While I can't say I'm really a fan of the Wii, I can appreciate some of what it offers and I'm in a similar boat with Kalico. Though, I haven't had any issues with my 360, I've seen many people with a variety of issues. Of course, being in retail does that.
Still, with all the modern consoles and huge leaps gaming has taken over the years, my favorite console was the Dreamcast. No, it didn't last long and came at a very bad time, but it doesn't change the fact that when it hit, it hit hard. Dropping great titles on us such as Sonic Adventure, the original Soul Calibur with, at the time, an unheard of level of closeness to the Arcade original and so many other greats. To a lot of people, this was an arcade lovers wet dream. Offering so many great arcade games (Fighting games and Side scrolling/top down shooters being the big ones) as well as some of the best RPGs I've ever had the pleasure of playing (Grandia II and Skies of Arcadia). My only regret was it's chosen release period. If only the PS2 had held off a year longer like the Gamecube and Xbox, perhaps we might of seen it flourish a bit longer. Though, I doubt it would of been much longer. Sure, the line up isn't as great as the PS1 or as strong and vast as the PS2, but what it offered will be remember by the ones who were fortunate to play this system.

Well I personally own a Wii and I have to say it is a pretty nice system. Although as people have mentioned, the games on the Wii are probably more suitable for the less hardcore gamers, but it definitely gives a new twist to playing videogames. But since I prefer games with intricate storylines and gameplay experiences aimed towards those who are more "serious" gamers, I would have to say the Playstation 3 is the best console for me. If I ever get enough money, I definitely want to purchase one. Plus the Playstation 3 has the Blu-ray function which I think will definitely become useful in the near future.

Playstation 3. I love having it as a blu-ray/dvd upscale player. Game's are getting better and I just like the overall feel of the console. If it was a year ago, this answer would of been Xbox 360. I just don't care to play online on a console that much anymore. I've been enjoying heavenly sword and Ninja gaiden sigma. Playstation feels more advanced while the 360 with the avatars makes me feel like im playing toontown.

I like Xbox 360 it has interestings games (halo 3, gears of war, street fighter IV...) but it has a problem you have to pay for play online
I'm an Xbox 360 owner myself but I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in a generation of consoles.
My once undying love for Nintendo which stemmed from the era of the NES and SNES has all but turned into a bitter lump of coal as Nintendo repeatedly attempts to expand upon basic game play with gimmicky controlers. While the Wii may have brought in a huge surge of elderly and female gamers I do feel that the only real purpose of the system is to suit those players with Wii Bowling and Wii Fit. Certainly, this is no longer the system of choice for the gamer who grew up with thumb blistering games like Mega Man 2 or Ninja Gaiden.
I like and own Playstations but have no real dedication to them and opted not to get a PS3 simply because of price. The Xbox seemed to have more titles readily available and I couldn't argue that the PS3 was a better purchase at the time although now I sometimes have second thoughts, simply because Playstation has always had a better directional pad which is how most of the indie games feel they should be played.
I own an Xbox 360 and have no real regrets other than the controller when I'm playing Mega Man 9 but by the same token, it really highlights how I feel about the current generation of games. Of my 20 or so titles, only Mass Effect and Rockband make the purchase of the system feel worthwhile with other games like Fable 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV which leave me outraged at the overall poor quality of what passes for a console game these days.
For my money, it's only PC games that seem to hold up with Call of Duty 4 (I own it for both the 360 and the PC and the PC is unquestionably the better version), the Orange Box and indie games from Steam.
I still play my 360 and enjoy it, but it's almost entirely XBLA games like Mega Man 9 and Braid that keep me coming back.

I don't have a Xbox 360, so I can't say if it's better than the PS3, but I can say that the PS3 is great, I really like it.
Playstation 3 and portable, maybe i'll also get a change to buy a Wii or Xbox360
PS2. Nothing has come close to the amount of time and games I've put into it.

Well i will sound like a kind of old player but i think the best console i ever had was the SNES it was great, the video game library was huge and must games were far more entertaining than the FPS that, we can see in this days i know many people here like the FPS but i think RPG's and platform games are better.
I also loves my PS1 and PS2, and of course on portable system nothing compares to the PSP especially whit the strong lineup they have for this year on this current gen of consoles i am still thinking but i will go for ps3 i guess.![( []-[])9 emoticon ( []-[])9 emoticon](http://static2.animepaper.net/images/emo/specky.gif)

I have two favorites. The PS2 and XBox 360. Both have pretty fun, entertaining games. And the controllers are comfortable to hold for long periods of time.

Super Nintendo
I would say that was my fav console simply put it had the best pad of all time and pretty coloured buttons I used to sleep with that pad when i was 12 lol now that im 30 I guess my ultimate fav console was the playstation 2, because it had tons of the best games of all time, the Snes pad still remains my fav and is important when judging a consoles worth.
