Hmm... I wonder if they'll just do the original story, or try do something completely different like fox is doing with the Dragonball Movie.

Anyways, back on topic - A Metal Gear Solid movie, if done well, will be epic. Just because of the epic nature of both Metal Gear itself and Snake's voice. :P

If they can avoid the pitfalls that the Street Fighter movie fell into (NUMEROUS times) and the ones the DBZ movie will more than likely fall into, then it could actually be really enjoyable.

Obviously we'll have to wait and see, but I'd have way more faith in a MGS/Death Note movie than in a DBZ and SF movie.

Perhaps I'm speaking too soon, as the DBZ movie isn't out yet... but I really don't see it doing too well.

Well the dragon Ball Z Movie will sure be a failure because its too much fantasy in it there is no chance that they can make it like the anime so it will fail.
Metal Gear Solid instead is more realistic so thats why they could be sucessful with it as long as the Actress and everything is good i mean i dont wanna Snake played by someone like Brad Pitt it should be someone who has kinda similar Character

The guys behind Metal Gear Solid know their stuff. They do so much research regarding weaponry, and war history, that they know so much about it. And when these guys put their own fictional twist into it: You got a Metal Gear game.
A Metal Gear movie would be a perfect action thriller. And it'd be pretty funny seeing Solid Snake just sneak past almost every enemy in the movie, which in many movies, isn't the case. Nowadays, most action movies you see, there's an overly muscular character :Rambo: that holds some gigantic machine gun, shooting the hell out of everything. Yes, yes, so realistic...
A Metal Gear Movie would be a great idea, but the team behind it better put in a lot of thought and reseach before making it.
It would make for a great thriller. :D

As for the actors, why not just have David Hayter be the actor, since he already is Snake's voice actor. I doubt anyone could emulate Snake's voice as well as Hayter can. And, he somewhat looks like Snake too. A little bit of movie magic will most definitely make him look like Snake.

I will judge when it comes out. I usually won't follow the mindset of the video game to movie stigma. That is unless the director is Uwe Boll. Granted I admit that Postal wasn't as bad as I figured it would be.

With the right people working on it, it would be great based on the story line of the videogame, but you know movies based off of videogames always turns out to be bad... so yeah i'mma go with that, it will probably suck big time..

But... the Metal Gear Franchise has the potential to do pretty good.
Think about Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. That movie was based off of FFVII, and it did pretty good. Though, the only problem with Advent children was that the majority of the viewers weren't really regular movie afficionados but rather Video gamers and FF fans. So I guess that wouldn't be the best example. Plus, it wasn't something that was released in movie theatres either...

But, the epic scale and the thought put into the stories behind Metal Gear are already more complex and beyond that of FFVII, so I think it has the potential to become a pretty good movie.

Hope hollywood doens't kill this franchise as they did with dragon ball

Hmm... well I gotta say that Metal Gear Solid, is definitely one of the most cinematic games in history. So it definitely has a very good chance of being a good movie. It'll definitely be good if they stay to true to the videogames story, but they should try to do some thing new, anyway, this does seem interesting.
