They really "Amp'd" up the game from the many previous series they've released... Lol I don't even think there zombies anymore... They're more like demons now, overall it still looking pretty good couldn't hurt to add some fan service into that horror game if ya know what I mean

If I wanted fan service, I'd go play an erotic game or an anime based title. I can understand what you mean, but that would completely ruin Resident Evil's atmosphere. Unless they wanted to make some sort of mock game which made fun of itself and broke the fourth wall.

If you're getting the PS3 copy, we should play online together. That is, if you'd like XD. I plan on getting the game and then going home and sleeping. Of course, after I take care of what I need to in the morning I'll be playing it for the majority of the day.

First of all, sorry for replying so late >.o Secondly, sorry yet again to inform you that I got the 360 copy, so co-op wouldn't be possible ^^;

I've played through the game alone, and well, I have to admit that Sheva sometimes gets annoying and you lose sometimes thanks to her xD but her A.I. is not really so bad. I mean, her accuracy is astounding. She can literally snipe faraway zombies and blow their heads off with the handgun o_o (actually saw her do that).

I think I'm close if not at the ending parts of the game already, even though I took it veeeeeery slow >.< I really want to play co-op with a friend to see how it works and how fun it would be x3

It's true that the game could have been a LOT better than it already is, but it still is a great game. I agree that the game is not horror anymore, but it does gives you some scares and frustration at some parts, especially when you're not expecting anything xD

After I killed the first chainsaw guy I said to myself: "I hope they don't place two of these guys together, or it would be a pain in the butt to kill them >.<". I hate the automatic guns, they're basically a waste of space and almost never help you >.> I totally regret wasting some money to boost them up >.<

Anyways ... the game is awesome, even though, like mentioned before, it can be better. I wonder if there's going to be special features and/or guns after you beat it o.o If I'm right about been close to the end, then I guess I'll find out soon :P

I plan on picking up Resi 5 eventually, just gotta wait for my buddies to get there copies too. Apparently not playing in co-op is bad, especially on the last boss. Hopefully capcom will patch Sheva's ai at some point so she becomes less of a hindrance in solo mode.
Honestly I'd have preferred them to not do co-op at all if it was going to end up making solo play worse.

Gah, I need to get this game for the PS3. *added to the wishlist* RE4 was pretty good and hopefully it'll be just as good, if not, better.

I need to buy that game, I really want to play it so bad. :(

Sure it may be VERY similar to RE4 in terms of play-style... but so what? RE4 was an incredibly fun game. Screw the "more-of-the-same" naysayers! There's TONS of games that don't change up the mechanics much from game-to-game and they do just fine without criticism.
The environments and gameplay are all top-notch. The element of it being a "survival horror" are definitely gone, it's not very scary... but as an action game it is fantastic.

The Co-op gameplay is absolutely great. I'm loving every second playing with friends both local and online.

Overall I'd rate it a 8.7/10, it's not perfect, sure... kind of short... but it's a fun little game, and the smooth working co-op mechanics help seal the deal.

I'd say it's a must-buy for anyone owning a 360 or PS3 who likes action games, or is just looking for a fun game to play through with a friend.

Kind of short? My friend & I did a quick run through in an attempt to finish under 5 hours for the infinite rocket launcher and without trying that hard we did it in just over 3 hours. All the missions lol.

It's waaaaaaaay too short, replay value isn't too bad though for those who want to unlock all the weapons, upgrade them all completely etc.

I'm very happy with the game, this and Street Fighter IV are the only games I've played over and over again so much. Very entertaining and fun.

Oh really now? Well how so? The game takes place in Africa. There is a bit of variety in the population, but the majority is black. Also, a technical correction would be that you are shooting Majini, which is the term for the enemies that have come in contract with a evolved form of the parasites from Resident Evil 4. Majini aren't what I would necessarily classify as humans, but rather individuals that have been taken over by the parasites.

I am rather close to beating the game and I must say that playing it with a friend is a huge benefit. However, I also have to say it is a bit difficult playing local co-op. The screen is split into two sides, which works well since both players can run around to different sides, but it tends to get disorientating after awhile and sometimes confusing. It also makes up for Sheva's love of wasting ammo. However, it also doesn't possess the AI's knowledge of where every secret stash is and clairvoyance to be able to know when an enemy is immediately in sight. The plot is rather lackluster in comparison to Resident Evil 4, but it's still a much welcomed change to the past games of escaping a mansion of zombies and a town of zombies. Irving is probably the worst character in the title, being rather annoying (at least in English) and quite idiotic. Seriously, how can this guy be a scientist. The game also gets rather vague as it progresses. I'd spot some examples, but I fear spoiling things for those that might read this before playing the game.

All in all, it has improved a bit with the game growing harder and introduced some minor annoyances, but I must say it is better than the initial impression of both the demo and the early stages left on me.

What's up with the Egyptian ruins in the later levels? I felt like I slipped through a wormhole that took me to Egypt, or National Treasure.

Local co-op is a pain in the ass. I really hope they release some kind of update that fixes the way it's setup. It feels like they're encouraging you to buy multiple copies so that you play system linked rather than on the same console.

Either way, I've pretty much gotten all the achievements for the game, only 4 more to go then I'll have gotten everything lol.

Still also have a couple I need to unlock unlimited ammo for but since they're the weapons I wouldn't use, I'm not too worried.

I've got my 360 hooked up to my 21.5 inch HD monitor so the local co-op wasn't a problem for me :P

My cousin and I just beat it a few hours ago. Amazing. It's nowhere near as great as Resident Evil 4, but still great.

Also, Irving wasn't too bad... I loved him. They did an amazing job with his facial expressions and such. He wasn't very convincing as a scientist, I know, but as a character he was very well done.
