Resident Evil 5?
rancidstpI've got my 360 hooked up to my 21.5 inch HD monitor so the local co-op wasn't a problem for me :P
Local co-op, or online? I play on a 47" DLP and even then I find difficulties with how much they shrink it. Mind you, I do wear glasses, but even then I shouldn't have to ultra focus in on things. Far away targets become something of a challenge to hit, if your not using a rifle. Depending on their cover, of course. I won't even mention about the ship level.
rancidstpAlso, Irving wasn't too bad... I loved him. They did an amazing job with his facial expressions and such. He wasn't very convincing as a scientist, I know, but as a character he was very well done.
Because he wasn't convincing as a scientist is the main reason why I didn't like him. I will admit his facial expressions helped make him..unique, which was one of his more positive feature.

Being close to beating the game, I will admit that this story is by far one of the weakest in the series. While there are previous games in the series that really didn't have the best stories, other elements helped make it less noticable. Unfortunately, RE 5's main focus is the story, so certain things stand out more. While certain elements were enjoyable, it does feel like they dropped the ball in some areas, while they really focused and did an amazing job in others. I can see why the game has gotten the harp that it has because of those elements. Then again, it's also tough to live up to your previous titles when you've got a different director behind it. I'm not saying that the new director didn't do a good job, but the series does have a rather different feel to it than any of the previous titles.

I agree on the story part, totally weak and may very well be the worst RE ending I have seen so far :/ But as for the graphics go, they're just simply amazing. Including the Mercenaries feature was nice, and even more letting it be played in co-op, which I haven't yet, cause I need an experienced partner or I will do poorly at it :P So, I've pretty much done everything solo, and just played co-op for fun.
I heard the next RE game will be a remake of RE2 for the Wii. Anyone knows more about this?
Probably one of my biggest complaints is that you can go back through previous stages without having to beat the game first. One of the more exciting and challenging aspects of Resident Evil was beating the game to unlock weapons. With RE 4, you got money, but you still had to beat the game in order to make your weapons stronger, so when you did a new game you could start with those weapons. You couldn't go back to previous stages and stockpile ammo and get cash to upgrade. I found myself repeating stage 4-1 for cash and going through stages 1 and 2 for ammo. I had the Magnum you first get fully upgraded before I even finished stage 5, not to mention several other weapons as well. While I did run into what Deerstalker had mentioned in the later levels, which was running into less ammo and stronger enemies (more so the stronger enemies, since they loved to give me handgun ammo!), it was easily compensated for by simply going back to previous stages. Capcom, that takes away any difficulty a game has. I'm going back through on Veteran and I still have to say the game serves little to no challenge. Mainly because if I do have trouble with a stage, I can just skip over it, as oppose to just simply playing the game and if I can't get past that stage, I'm screwed. While I do like being able to navigate through stages, it does take away the difficulty, as previously mentioned.
As for the final boss...

I don't hate RE 5. Not in the least. I've unlocked all the costumes and I'm working on beating the game in Veteran as well as trying to upgrade all the weapons, so I doubt I'd be doing that if I really didn't care for the title. I just feel that there were so many little things they could of done better, or just things that really, really bug the crap out of me. However, it's simply my two cents on it.

Well, I'm hoping they'll do a remake instead of just a port over. So far, there have been a slew of Gamecube games being ported over to the Wii, or rather re-released with only additional Wii controls and nothing else. I'm really hoping that they'll be making something like with what they did for Resident Evil on the GC. Completely re-done graphics. However, I wonder if they'll go back to the tank control style or if they'll try to make it like RE 4 & 5, since they were able to port 4 over to the Wii, they could most likely do it.

As for the RE2 remake, it is a complete remake for the Wii. Its name is going to be Biohazard (Resident Evil): Darkside Chronicles.
Here's a trailer: Biohazard (Resident Evil): Darkside Chronicles Trailer
And we played in Co-op, because in one Player mode the Computerplayer is often in the way.
We played it every day, sometimes we did a Week a Break, and yesterday we finished Veteran and we began early the Profi mode , but the Profi mode is very hard.
This Game is The Best game that I played and the Grafic is so fantastic.
I Love this Game! ^~^
one can even think and outsmart the opponent and we have to think way out fast before it's to late that what I like about this game than any other game so far
I am looking forward to play the full version of Resident Evil 5 on Xbox 360 in the future. I heard there is a PC version of Resident Evil 5 coming out later in the year.
Its much better than the Resident Evil 4
I really liked RE5, having co-op really sold it for me.
Too bad Versus mode didn't keep my attention, no one I knew wanted it.
Plus I already bought all the costumes in SFIV, so more money into Capcoms pockets isn't something on my to do list.
I probably won't be playing RE5 anymore though, because I've practically done everything in the game.. Got all the BSAA badges, fully upgraded weapons, beat the game on all difficulties, most of the unlimited ammo unlocks, all figures, etc, etc.
But all in all, I've spent I think almost 30 hours in it, that's pretty good for a Survival "Horror" game in this day and age.

Also in regards to the last boss, I didn't think it was that bad. I have to admit that I felt it was a bit tacked on but it was still fun. Also for whoever complained about fighting 'it' 3 times (can't remember who exactly) well, you fought James Marcus 2 or 3 times, Birkin 3 or 4 times, Alexia 3 times and even Tyrant in the original twice. Plus the first battle was hardly a battle as actually fighting them was not the aim of the 'battle'.
Mercernaries is certainly fun co-op and Versus is worth a whirl if anyone is upset about longetivity. Oh and btw, the Darkside Chronicles isn't a total remake of RE2. It's going to be like Umbrella Chronicles, selected bits remade for light-gun fun.

I also found that it wasn't as scary as RE4, and some of the villains sort of got recycled (like the chainsaw dude). Also, the game is seriously short.O_O The controls were a little difficult to get used to as well. While the graphics are...well, really awesome, RE4 was still the better game.
