As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Hey guys, has anyone played Tales of Vesperia on the 360? (It's also been announced on the PS3)

It's such a beautiful game with great gameplay. The story's not bad either. Too bad there's no wallpapers for it on AP, but that could change soon =D

Who's played it, and who's your fav character? Mine personally is Judith xD

The story was solid enough - not exceptionally original or anything, and there were a couple of weaker spots in the pacing but it was well executed enough. Team Symphonia games have never been about original plots anyway.

Characters though, it definitely excelled with. Yuri was my favourite, he was such a breath of fresh air from the usual trend of weak-willed protagonists who end up as the party leader simply because they're at the top of the character list on the official website. I'd really love characters like him to become more common, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. The rest were great too - I even ended up liking Karol, which I didn't expect. Not sure on how the new PS3 character (the pirate girl) is going to turn out... but considering the signs they'd planned for her at the beginning I'll give her a chance, at least.

Tales of Vesperia graphics looks fantastic, can't wait for the PAL release on Xbox 360 in June 2009. Great News for PS3 players that they will get Tales of Vesperia in 2009 or 2010.

Really? I was not aware that Tales of Vesperia is coming to the PS3, honestly I was a bit shock the first time it came out and it was for Xbox 360 /(oOo)# I love the graphics and of course the battle game play it looks awesome!

I actually found Tales of Vesperia to be the Tales of Namco's weakest entry. Of course, when I mean weakest, I mean it felt more generic compared to previous Tales of series.

While I do have to admit that I absolutely loved the artwork and the character models are by far some of the best, though I could of done without the male midriff. I also have to say both the musical score and the voice work is by far the strongest in the series.

While I wasn't able to play a great deal of the game for the 360, I was able to play enough to say I greatly welcome the change in combat. It's nice to know that I don't have to play as mindlessly as I did in previous installments. Once again, I can't emphasize enough at how beautiful this game is. Seriously, everything about it is just simply lush.

Yet, with these positives, I felt the story so far is rather generic and honestly somewhat boring. Though, I want to be fair in pointing out I haven't cared for a Tales of story since Symphonia. Maybe it's because I'm getting too picky. Still, despite this, I absolutely loved the game and I'm going to re-buy it for PS3 when it comes out. Additional content, here I come!

The story wasn't too original, but the combat was fantastic, the characters were awesome (Favorite: Rita), and the environments were beautiful. The english voice acting was superb, amazing even.

The PS3 version is something I'd consider, but Tales of Symphonia's PS2 release never saw the light of day here, so I'm not holding out too much hope for it.

Lol that's what they said about Tales of Abyss, honestly I just like the battle gameplay it seems to be fun. The main characters story seems to be more in depth than that of Tales of Symphonia part 2, so you gotta give credit to tales of vesperia on that one.

As for the guy above me, yeah you got a point tales of symphonia was never released for the PS2 which was really disappointing, I wonder if this too is just a false rumor that will never come true..

I actually felt like that about Abyss until I played Vesperia. Though, I did feel that Abyss, while starting off rather generic, was able to branch out much further. Even so, it still was fairly bland in the story department, but visuals and combat were spectacular. I wasn't able to finish Vesperia, due to the amount of games on my plate, so I can't really say fully for Vesperia's story. I haven't played ToS Part 2 yet, because I gave my Wii to my parents, but from the looks and from what I've read up I doubt I will. It sounds like a huge downgrade compared to ToS, which is probably my favorite Tales entry, right up there with Destiny.

As for what's being said about Vesperia coming to the States, I'm rather confident. Mainly due to the amount of information that's been floating around. I believe that Nintendo also had a part to play in keeping the PS2 version of ToS outside of the States, but that's more of assumption. However, considering how Namco is about releasing Tales games in the US (I'm STILL waiting for a better port of Phantasia than the crappy GBA one and I want ToD 2 and Rebirth as well, damnit!) I'm rather skeptical, but I'm remaining hopefully.

Can anyone confirm if the OP for Tales of Vesperia for PS3 will be the same as the one on Xbox 360? it's a pity that you cannot make videos out of PS3 games, and I was told that the PS3 ver. will have some changes, that's why I'm curious about the opening...

damn (;_;) emoticon I want to make videos out of PS3 games!

Really? How was it?

Well, maybe you can send me a flying car as well, being that your from the future. The game doesn't come out in Japan until later on this year, so I don't see how you'd be able to play it.

I can't confirm, but I don't see any reason for them to change it. Especially since Production IG went through all that work. However, the only reason I'd see them changing is if they wanted to add Patty into the intro.

Is ToV really that good? I played the demo on a friend's Xbox360, and I remember being a little disappointed (maybe I just didn't know how to play? LoL). I only have a PS3, and another friend is telling me it's one of the best Tales in awhile. Maybe I'm just old school and biased towards the older Tales series like Phantasia and Destiny. Or maybe it's the whole 3D plane kind of thing, because I've played the first Symphonia and while I liked it, I eventually lost interest and stopped playing, despite the awesome multiplayer capability.

The way you have that worded makes it sound like a contradiction because those were the first and second Tales of games, respectively. First one being released on the Super Famicom and the second on the PS1. So, technically they are old school. Fear not, I know what you meant by that, I just wanted to let you know =D.

Certain games appeal to certain people and all RPGs have a amount of grinding to them. Vesperia's fighting system is a bit different than in Symphonia, so things are a bit different. There is more of a focus on blocking and playing smarter. I still felt that aside from certain flaws, Vesperia was a very solid RPG on the Xbox 360. Especially in comparison to the horrible Infinite Undiscovery and somewhat lackluster Blue Dragon. That's just my two cents though.
