As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Anyone played it?

What are your thoughts about the single player campaign and the multiplayer mode?
Like it? Hate it?

I like the campaign, it was intense and it was like watching a action movie but what I enjoy most is the multiplayer mode. It's 5 different matches into one game and it's seamlessly transitioning from one to the next, but some maps do need more developing ...

Overall it is quite a enjoying game

(I'm trying to revive the topic so ... yeah)

I haven't played much of Killzone 2 so far, but I have to say that what I have played, I love.

Biggest gripe I have is I can't swap out my pistol for something else. Really, I understand it's there as a fail safe in case people forget about how much ammo they have, but I feel it significantly limits my customization, therefore forcing me really to only chose one weapon. Lame. Second is co-op play. Co-op, to me, is a huge part of console gaming. It's really the deciding factor for me in choosing to pick up a FPS on a system instead of PC (unless it's an exclusive). Certain games I can understand not putting co-op play in, like CoD 4. However, considering that for the duration of Killzone 2 I've played, I see no reason for there to not be any cooperative play. While I don't mind playing online, I prefer to play with a friend whom I can plan out a course of action and won't act like a 10 year old. Considering that they've been working in co-op play in FPS games since the previous generation, I see no excuse for this. I can understand, but considering I do have a partner with me, I see no reason why they couldn't of done it.

The graphics are simply stunning, half of the time some of the in game scenes feel like FMVs, which just shows how much work went into the production of the title. While I haven't played multiplayer yet, I have to say that single is rather solid. I will admit, what I have played so far has the story pretty much taking a back seat, which can be both good and bad. Controls feel rather nice, though I felt it was a bit cheap and gimmicky for them to put in the SIXAXIS tilting for turning things. I could do it far quicker with the analog stick and it just doesn't feel necessary, even if it isn't a bad idea. That's just being nit picky though.

I have to say that Killzone 2 is a HUGE improvement over the mediocre first title. While I felt that the first one offered some interesting features, it was fairly forgettable. Aside from a few personal issues, I love the game. I hope it'll show a lot of people that even if a game is fairly hyped up and delayed, it can still be quite good. LAIR, I'm looking at you.

Yes, it was strange that they did not include co-op when we have a partner in almost every mission and almost every time.

It is very beautiful to look at. One of the most spectacular looking games I've ever played ( second to MGS4 imo). I read that they spent almost $21 million on production or 16 million euro...

And yes LAIR was pretty bad... with or without the sixasis control. But I do recommend playing online. Like I said though... some maps need development. Hopefully the map pack will be more balanced that the current one.

I have been looking at this game in the store for the last couple of weeks. It sure has some great reviews. I am currently playing Resistance 2, which is pretty good in its own right. But when I'm done with that, I may give this one a try.

It's a really nice game, I hope you try it out because many people are missing out on a great game... sure the first one wasn't very good but people should give this one a chance.

Killzone 2 is an incredible game.

I definitely recommend this game if you are into FPS (Even if your not this game is a great start). I will admit that the story to Killzone 2 was somewhat disappointing. The AI in Campain is amazing. It feels different almost every time you play. Especially with the difficulty setting (Elite difficulty is so hard... It's your worst nightmare). But as what the reviewers have said about this game, what really makes it shine is the multiplayer. It feels like a combination of CoD and Team fortress. Really enjoy the teambased combat and it is definitely a necessity to have a mic and work with your team if you want to win, so mindlessly going around and killing people won't do you any good (unless it is bodycount). I don't know if people are still complaining about the controls or not but seriously, the controls are FINE THE WAY THEY ARE. I don't want to have it like CoD with auto aim and perfect spraying (damn you P90). Killzone 2 it feels weighty and I like it. Makes the game really different from other FPS out there and aiming feels like it takes skill (and some luck involved). Really think more people should check this game out because it's definitely one of the best PS3 games out there.

Yeah its really a good game and elite mode is really hard i had a hard time in visari square lol and the multiplayer is awesome , the new maps are nice but i expected more from the vekta cruiser map lol ( i thought it would have the elevator man...) still it is a very nice addition in multiplayer. I feel of the controls is pretty nice too, since i never max my sensitivity when playing ,lol and this is my first fps in a console so i cant understand why they are complaning anyways rofl

I played killzone 2 and I would have to say it doesn't disappoint me. Now that I have upgraded my PS3 from 60 GB to 320 GB I couldn't save my data from the hard drive into the memory stick to bring it over to the new hard drive. Now, I got to start all over again on single player. But at least the online game doesn't get erased.

@anime-otacon

For sure dude. The new maps are alright but I have to say, Vekta Cruiser was a little disapointing. Wasteland Bullet is a great map man it's such a cluster f***. Moving space is so limited. Maybe if you play it with a lot less people it's great but having 32 people... it's just crazy to the point where it's not even fun. Too bad the train couldn't be a little bigger ;) Lol, you'll get used to it considering it's your first FPS on console. Later you'll want to use max sensitivity ;) Glad you decided to get it.

Love it. Single player was kinda difficult, especially the last level.

And multiplayer is a lot of fun to play, kinda like an improved COD4 for me.

I found that the single player campaign was lacking and that the online aspect is where this game really shines. The single player was OK, it didn't really do anything all previous first person shooters have done. The levels were rather boring and it was a really short game. It just felt like it was put in there as a addition. The visuals are really spectacular but the story was really poor as well.

Online however is just brilliant. The different types of classes you can use just puts this game out ahead of the rest. The games become really interesting and can change hands in a matter of minutes the amount of games I've been in and we lose the lead right and the end or win is what makes it really fun. You have to be on the ball all the time. Also the fact that you have to play different types of games in a game (search and destroy, body count etc) keeps it interesting.

One last thing is that there are servers all over the place. No matter where you are you can get lag free games.

I would say that this game will keep the lead above all others until Call of Duty MW2 comes out later this year.

@~DSX

yeah, been trying to get a hang for that wasteland bullet map but I just couldn't get
my mind around it, like you said space is very limited and that jump just bothers me, specially when there's someone on the other side firing at you lol, hopefully the second map pack will be better, they said it's from the original killzone anyways, i think i'll try to adjust my sensitivity now, btw if you ever see me in the battlefield my psn ice_prince09 lol

Killzone 2 is amazing as expected, but there was one thing that really disappointed me they took out the multiplayer split screen. in killzone 1 my favorite was the 2 player split screen where you can add coms on your team. i dont know y they took that out....
