Anyone else anticipated for this release of a new 2D fighter?

Well.. I am, lol.
I can't wait for this... it looks amazing... beautifully done in HD, and I can't wait for the Art Book that's included (hopefully) with the pre-order of the game.

It's similar to the GG series (duh, it's made by the staff who made GG)!
It seems to be slower paced, kind of like Arcana Hearts (which is another good 2D fighter, Arcana Hearts 2 was recently released on Japanese consoles.. but horribly ported).
I believe it uses the same button layout too..


Anyways, If you haven't yet.. pre-ordered it!
It's coming out in the end of June. Which is like in 2 months!

I'm a huge fighting game fan, and I'm definitely going to get this, but there's so many fighters coming out it's not even funny. We have BlazBlue and King of Fighters XII coming out in June, PSN/XBLA versions of Garou: Mark of the Wolves and possibly Marvel vs. Capcom 2. I don't even know where to start.

I believe KOFXII is coming out in July this Summer.
Garou? I haven't heard any rumors that it's coming out on DLC,
and MvC2 is very possible.. It wasn't my favorite game by any means, but it'll sell very well.. I might pick it up if it's remade in HD though.. haha

If you're in to the UFC, UFC Undisputed 2009's coming out May 19th.

There is a lot of hype for this game indeed. Now I don't have to drop endless amount of quarters into the BB machine at my local arcade! I preordered the Gamestop limited edition BB collection with soundtrack and artbook! ^_^

I've been waiting for this game to come out ever since they revealed it. It looks promising but I can't help but feel that some of the character designs are rehashed ones from Guilty Gear. But hey, if this plays well, it'll be another milestone in the 2D fighting genre.

Tough competition, you got the new revamp KOF XII and the successor of the famed guilty gear. there isn't exactly nothing new about the two but picking one isn't an easy task either. but since we know more about KOF and played their characters in their old skins, i'm a little bit wavering on Blazblue, a coated Guilty Gear in a way, but it's always more fun to play with GG system anyways.

Not really sure how I feel about BlazBlue. I have played Guilty Gear competitively for a long time so I was pretty excited to hear about BB.

However, watching some gameplay vids of tourneys in Japan and talking to some other of my GG-gamer peers about it, I'm kind of hesitant, namely because there are roughly 3-4 characters in BB that, when used well enough, are totally OP. Even in 3-on-3 tourneys and matches, a majority of the teams will consist of the same 3 characters.

FYI, the characters I'm talking about are Arakune, v-13, Rachel, and I think Hakumen... not 100% positive on the last one, though.
