After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Blazblue [ ps3 / 360 ] is a 2d fighting game by Arc System Works.
The people who made Guilty Gears.

Guilty Gear was a really good game and I liked it awfully alot.
And now there's Blazblue coming for the ps3 ( hate 360's d-pad ) which means there's ONLINE battle. Just thinking of it excites me.

I don't know why they dont just make a new Guilty Gear serie for the ps3/360 but instead a new franchise.
Cuz I sooo want to play Dizzy again.

So yeah Blazblue is a 2d fighting game with 3d background.
Here's a video I found on youtube , it shows the Astral finish of certain characters.

It comes out on 30 June 2009.
Of course it also has a limited edition which you can pre-order from gamestop
Doesn't that box art look ecchi and amazing ?

I heard that there's gonna be a clothing line for Blazblue but I don't get it.
Does that mean that there's gonna be 2 versions of Blazblue ?

Just as a cultural note, both digital pads (Xbox 360 and Playstation 3) are horrible and people who wants to play this game seriously should get an arcade stick.

BlazBlue is one of the first games I will definitely buy when I get my next generation console.

Nah ... I played guilty gear before on the ps2 with the dualshock 2.
Still own a lot with it but if you can afford an arcade stick , get it.

What I really don't recommend is the 360 one , not a fanboy here but I did played a fighting game before on the 360.
It was so hard to link combos due to the d-pad.

Meh. A poor workman blames his tools. I find the Dualshock/2/3 dpad to be capable enough for precise input.

I doubt you're likely to see a continuation of Guilty Gear due to a rift between Arcsys (the developers) and Sammy (the publisher) who hold the rights to the Guilty Gear name. Blazblue is their attempt to establish a new IP in the fallout of this.

I see ... well for now I just hope that there's gonna be characters add-on for free.
Right now there aren't many.

I was trying to decide between Blazblue or KOF XII as the next game that consumes my spare money, but after looking at the character roster and the Astral Finishes I'm gonna get Blazblue.

I'd prefer the PS3 version because I prefer that controller layout, but I don't have a PS3 so I'll have to get the 360 version. I can negotiate using an analog stick, I would say I prefer a D-pad for fighting games but I actually play Melty Blood better with the analog stick. I dunno. I just know I can't use an arcade stick worth a flip #(u_u)# emoticon

Yeah , that was a correct choice.
Im not saying KOF XII sux but from what I see so far , I don't think it's actually that good ( in graphics and all ) for being on the ps3 or 360.

IN other words , it looks like a ps2 game.

But meh ... I don't think that's really the point.

If you like epic 2d fighting game with lighting , fire , dark beam or w/e . get Blazblue.

KOF XII's graphical style is way too heavy for a PS2 to handle. You should see the game in full resolution and you'll quickly see such thing wouldn't be possible on a 128 bit console.

Meh. A poor workman blames his tools. I find the Dualshock/2/3 dpad to be capable enough for precise input.

They're fine if you play just for fun. But I would really like to see you trying to do really complicated stuff with a pad on games like Marvel vs Capcom 2 (Magneto's loops are WAY easier on a stick), any of the Guilty Gear games (Impossible Dusts and a lot of buffering is way more possible on a stick) or Virtua Fighter (any expert player will tell you playing with a pad = for scrubs).

I do play with a pad, however there are a lot of things that are too hard to execute (unless you use macros or any crap like that). Such things don't happen with sticks.

Dual Shock 3 is a clear proof that Playstation's controllers' digital pads become worse and worse as time passes by. DS1 was nice, DS2 is a total mess and DS3... gawd, no (playing King of Fighter 98 UM with it is frustrating).

Also, you're wrong. First, it's Sega now, not Sammy. Second, ArcSys can still release Guilty Gear games, as long as they're not related to the X, XX and etc. chapters. Why do you think they could release Guilty Gear 2 Overture? They still hold the rights for the chars and stuff before they released the Guilty Gear games on Naomi and Atomiswave hardware.

Everything takes practice.

I don't really wanna waste money on a stick. From what I've seen so far , most of the good ones are over 100 bux.

Sure , performing a certain pattern of combo might be hard on a pad but it's not impossible.
A pad player can still own players using an arcade stick.

I would get a stick if they were cheaper , it's been so long since I played a fighting game ( cod-ing alot ). Ahh ... I still remember the pain from my bladders.

As for KOF 12 , again I haven't played it so correct me if I'm wrong.
From what I've seen of some of the KOF utube videos , I could tell most of the things are the same.

The only difference I'm seeing here comparing KOF 12 and the older series is the graphics. ( characters too )

It looks very good BlazBlue was just new to me, it looks a lot like Guilty Gear to me hopefully they wont make a type of clone of Guilty Gear but rather come out whit improved ideas for this new game.

I don't think people should buy a stick to play games at least they have master them on the arcades otherwise the D-pads will work better for you i also think BlazBlue its better than KOF 12 the graphs were made from HD sprites so they could go on a PS2 but whit a way out Lower resolution of course they are too much for it right now the really bad thing was to make a limited roster for what is suppose to be the last KOF game or so i heard i might be wrong about that but i think they should had make the effort to put a bigger roster of characters on it. Yeah, right, say that to a top japanese player or an Evolution competitor, and you'll probably get only laughs.

I would really like to see a pad player trying to do MvC2's really broken and hard to execute stuff... and do it flawlessly and repeatedly. I think the only MvC2 top player in the entire world that uses a digital pad is a dude from Brazil, and he barely did it to quarters in Evolution.

Heck, say that to a mexican KOF player (KOF is like Mexico's strongest fighting game). A lot of stuff like Daimon's basic FP, df+FP and hcb,f+P combo can be executed with little effort using a stick. With a pad it's a stupid nightmare, and it's definitely not worth the effort.

As for KOF 12 , again I haven't played it so correct me if I'm wrong.
From what I've seen of some of the KOF utube videos , I could tell most of the things are the same.

You're wrong. Check Gametrailers' HD videos of KOF XII. Youtube's stuff has a lot of quality loss, you can't appreciate the graphics there.

KOFXII doesn't only feature bigger sprites, but also a smoother animation and heavier graphical effects. Ash' new green fire bubble would be impossible to do in a PS2.

Yeah, the character roster for KOF XII has diminished greatly, but all of the sprites are brand new, and feature the absolute smoothest animation you will get out of 2D sprites. I love the artistic style and character designs that Blazblue has going, but KOF XII has it owned in the animation department.

KOF XII get serious failure points for not having K' in it though.

So it is possible , that's what I need to hear.
It's not like I'm aiming to become top 1 of the world or something , I just want to have fun w/o paying that much.
Buying a stick solely for BlazBlue is NOT worth it , unless it's super cheap OR
if for some reason it's easier to play cod on a stick then I might change my mind.

I just watched this.
So even if the graphics / animations etc are improved but I just don' think that they're SO great to sell it for 60 bux.

@Shadow

Shadow:

No, no, sorry but the title to smoothest animation to date still belongs to Street Fighter 3, KOF XII animation is maybe on par with Last Blade 2's amount of frames per character, though the high resolution sprites gives it extra points. BlazBlue's animation is nice (better than old school KOF's and WAY better than Guilty Gear's, Hokuto No Ken's or other 2D game previously developed by Arcsys Works) and IMO I prefer how sprites look more in BlazBlue, they look way cleaner.

I heard the console version of XII will feature more characters. So far, Elisabeth and Mature are confirmed, and I wouldn't be surprised to see K' and Mai in it too.

It's not like I'm aiming to become top 1 of the world or something , I just want to have fun w/o paying that much.

lol K. I personally can't stand to play a fighting game without feeling like I'm not having 100% control over my character. I always feel like that when playing KOF98UM on PS2, and seeing that Dual Shock 2 isn't as precise or responsive as the average stick I use when I play it on arcades :s

I think the reason is that there is a world of difference from and arcades player to console player, i remember i played whit some guy that was unbeatable playing on the arcades Tekken tag on the ps2 and beat the crap out of him just because he all ways trying to make precise Combo combinations, and he just could not make it on the Dpad meanwhile i made combos that were easier to get out on the Dpad so its just matter if you learned playing it arcades you will like better getting you self a stick but if you didn't you will be wasting you money.( []-[])9 emoticon
