As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Has the Wii ruined gaming as we know it or revolutionized it?

I think as a innovated system the Wii has done its job. It showed how a basic build and some motion controls can make a system. But where it fails us is it being "next-gen".

Its pretty sad when the gamecube spec. are on par with the Wii when it come down to it. At max it can only support 420p (compared to 1080p and 1080i on other systems) making any type of "next-gen" game impossible graphic wise. Not only they but where the hell is its online play? Nearly any games online play on the Wii is completely broken and unplayable. And why the hell are we still using friend codes? And even though my next point is a generalization, its also a valid point. It seams that only Nintendo knows how to make Wii games. Very few (madworld, no more hero's, insert other decent game made by 3rd party company) have even had minimal success making any type of Wii game. If not for the virtual console and the 2 games named above, i would say Nintendo has completely betrayed its "hardcore" audience.

Wii can in no way subtract from the gaming experience anyone who does not adapt will become relics. It evolution and its the basis to everything on or off the planet. The idea that Nintendo has ruined gaming is as thoughtless as saying the scroll wheel on the mouse ruined the PC.

I know, I'm annoyed too. I was expecting so much more, especially from Brawl. The motion sensors don't always work, causing no end to the grief. But if the Wii introduces more people to gaming, maybe it could become so popular that even better games will be put out there because the companies know more people want to play. Either that or we get more mainstream trash... who knows.

I think the wii has given us a new way to experience the games. There were a lot of persons who thought that there wont be a progress in the way of playing games. Maybe the wii doesn´t have the superior graphics of a PS3 or XB360, but Nintendo alway think of the best way to enjoy and experience games.

I like sony and (some) microsoft games, but really, more of their games are only pretty graphics.

Viva la Revolucion!

Yes! I think that the Wii has in some ways revolutionized gaming. I must admit- the first console I ever played was the SNES- and I still have it- so I am a little biased towards Nintendo- but upon reviewing some facts- or maybe just lies- that I have come across, I really think that Nintendo has done a world of good for the gaming industry now.

For one, it has mass appeal. Like- crazy mass appeal- which some people could regard as a bad thing because it's like- man, these people say their into games- but they've only played like Wii Fit- which isn't really a game- but I think that that could be a starting point. Like, when I was a kid- I HATED any game that wasn't like- Super Mario World- but over time, I tried new things, and now I've expanded my gaming repertoire to playing anything from RPG's, to Fighting Games- and I have also expanded myself to other consoles- primarily the PS2 and PS3- but still- I would love to own a 360! I'm sure that there are going to be plenty more people that will also experience the enlightenment that gaming in general can bring to them- and they might look back and be like- Thanks Nintendo Wii, for opening my eyes to this new level of nerd-dom.

Now- the motion control thing- Duck Hunt- the NES Zapper? That's like- a form of motion control- right? That's been around for a while- but I think that with the Wii, Nintendo fine tuned some details, and made the idea of playing with motion sensor controls more appealing.

If motion control wasn't big now- then Microsoft might not be pushing Project Natal. But at least now- being able to interact with games on a different level- something you can almost entirely immerse yourself in, (not just games, movies as well- 3D's getting pretty big) is truly an interesting concept.

I must admit something else as well. While I do see that Nintendo has taken several strides to make gaming more accessible and fun for a whole slew of people entirely new to gaming, it also seems to have let down many of it's longtime fans, myself included. I wish that Nintendo had some more great serious games for the Wii- and less games like "Ninjabread Man." But with it's graphics also trailing behind the PS3, 360- and computers even- I think it's fairly easy to overlook what Nintendo has done for the world of gaming.

This seems like an entirely different topic though. Regardless- I'll keep rooting for Nintendo to pull through from behind ma new PS3 Slim- as soon as I can sell cra- I mean- legal products to be able to afford one.

Thanks to the existence of systems like the XBOX360, it hasn't ruined it, but I definitely wouldn't go so far as to say it's revolutionised gaming. I suppose in the sense that it's prompted other companies to try harder to appeal to the casual crowd, it's brought about a slight revolution, but the fact of the matter is that it hasn't really changed the way that the top end, triple A games are made. Take some of it's biggest hits, for example, like Super Mario Galaxy. Alot of it's best games could've been done quite easily without the motion sensing technology and still have been excellent. One way it could've changed things, for example, was through FPS control, but I think it's sadly demonstrated that it isn't as great for the genre as presumed. The moral of the story is that motion sensing can never really become the dominant control scheme across the market. In the Wii's case, for most of it's games it has rarely evolved beyond being a gimmick, and an inferior control system to boot.

A clear fact is that it's very popular among both young and adults and the reason for that, is according to my personal guess, that most people find it so funny to make body movements instead of sitting and pushing buttons on a control. For me (I am an old fan since I used to play SEGA back then), I would love to try Wii, but I also think that many of the games are old-fashioned and boring, like, tennis, instead of sitting indoors you might as well go out, get some fresh air, enjoy a good time with old friends. Maybe it is a good idea to play tennis indoors in winter(talking about Wii and not literally playing tennis at home), but I don't find anything attractive with that. I would find a puzzle much more fun because you have to think and try many times different actions. I think I would like Wii like for 10 minutes and then I would get tired of standing and moving my legs and arms. This might be good for those that really do need to play a limited time in order to avoid becoming addicted to games. But I know that there are a lot of fans out other just like me, that instead of Wii, enjoy more complicated games, like rpg on PS3 with amazing graphics or an online game on PC.

I suppose I would lean towards ruin. The Wii has brought the general populace into gaming. To me, that's a bad thing.

Though, in the end, it isn't the system that is really to blame. It's the rubbish party and casual games that come out that some casual gamers will just continue to buy, even though they're rubbish.

I concur with you - AsahiSuperDry -
Thing most people seem to forget, NINTENDO is a company like
any other, it has Share Holders it must answer to. Though each
company has an outlined objective, the overall objective will
always to make $$ or gain more capital. How NINTENDO as
employed their tactics may be questioned as to creating
something that will appeal to a huger populace whilst
overlooking the Core gamers.

Well its working and they are raking in more doe $$ than ever
before, so what exactly might be wrong with their business model?

Mine opinion is the Wii has both ruined gaming as we know it and also
at the same time revolutionized it to a degree.

Personally it revolutionized the gaming a tiny bit.

I never thought of something like this. I can't really count the Eyetoy from Playstation, since I never had one, but that's off-topic.
I think it's a big (next) step to motion-based gaming.

I may have some downsides. For example, complete different gameplay for most Wii-games and hard to handle at first.

But at least they're still using the Classic-, GC-controller for certain games.
Actually there are enough Wii-games, that are using these.
If you don't want to play motion-based games, then get a game with Controller-compatibility.

So, the Nintendo Wii didn't ruined anything, only revolutionizing, as expected from Nintendo. (n_n)-b emoticon

( []-[])9 emoticon I belive many of you should rather say will the motion sense controller revolutionize the gaming because its the only real thing that the nintendo WII offers and has we all know its being Emulated by both Sony has Microsoft and let not just say that the Motion sensor technology its more like a fashion that a real need not only on gaming but on all the Technology.
To answer the Question directly i would say that i don't really think nintedo Will make a revolution on this Generation at least for the must simple reason you could think on they haven't developed new games that will immersed you on them better story lines Characters Basically we have a lot of Time
seeing new Ways to play Mario Games Zelda Games Star Fox Games which have so many story lines that they have to trow a Hole new way to play them so you can actually see something new I grew up playing the SNES and i loved it when the nintendo 64 came i was a little of disappointed because many good games were left away from the System Sega and Sony Offered many new types of Games it is in that Diversity in which you see something Revolutionary has in its time The snes did offer too i wish nintendo was offering games in which you will really be immersed to not so many little arcade type games whit their Must famous characters but actually new Games at least.
