When in Silent Hill...

Your surroundings transform into your nightmares or the darkness in your heart: rusted metal, organic (Walter's seeking of his mother, therefore her womb), and so on. Angela's room was a symbolism of her abusive father.
If I were there, my surroundings would be an endless maze of pitch-black holes up and down and odd whisperings coming from nowhere since I had a nightmare with a creature staring at me from a hole in the ceiling, whispering nonsenses.
Also, how would it be if you could create a new SH game? How would the atmosphere be for the game to be creepier than the prior ones?

I i think you're playing to much silent hill games or seeing those movies that are going bad to extremely fail, lolz, indeed, if i were there i would be there with my psp hacked and with a load of game, also some batteries.
The topic is not about what you would bring, but how the town would transform being you in there, or how would you imagine a creepier Silent Hill.
The creepier Silent Hill would be no one around besides more monsters & darkness. More dead end & those kinds of creepy voice. With many killers who can run fast around ceasing the main character. Without anything he/she could bring. All the main character could do is hope for the best & hoping that he/she was a dust
Hiya,
First of all, awesome topic. I wish haters would just not post. If I were to oversee a new SH title I would like to make use of two things that modern gaming consoles have available, Online play and Download content.
I would like all aspects of play, online and offline delve very deep into the cult and it's splinter factions. Each would have their own agenda of course. I would like to see our protagonist be a group that actually makes use of the Silent Hill artifacts we've seen over the years. I don't resent the original formula, but I would like to play one where we the player are the aggressor against the creeping doom.
I could expand on some ideas but I guess i'm wondering if you think that's just too crazy for good ol' SH.

Not at all, I think they're good. Being able to download more creepier locations and maybe open other posibilities for new endings is something that Konami should try. Also, a more aggressive character could give SH a different touch in a good way (I believe Henry was the more passive of them all). A different point of view on that could be if he/she has, for example, mental issues, that might make you -gamer- more conscious and afraid of your surroundings because you don't know how is your character gonna respond next and that might get you killed. Lizzorette also has a good point on making the main character not that invincible.
Yeah, the idea of danger was heightened for me with The Room, but Orgins and Homecoming ( which I have yet to beat) don't take gameplay to the next level. I want to say I personally don't enjoy RE4 and beyond, because I feel less connected to the environment. I'm a fan of series that have gameplay elements I enjoy as opposed to a "GAMER".
I can't say The Room was a remarkable point in the series but I like alot of things about it as a game. I think SH3 was the strongest point in the series.

I agree. SH3 is all about building up the tension in the enviroment, which The Room lacked somewhat. What I do like very much about SH4 and SH5 is the bosses' background. How you get to know their story or even watched them die and then how those circumstances affected their final form. My fave one would be Scarlet from Homecoming. A dismembered child that turned into a doll that bleeds when you hit it. Awesome idea for a monster.
