After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

I think its about time they made the remake. Final fantasy 7 is the most profitable series in the final fantasy universe. Furthermore it has the biggest fan group. Most importantly it was the best damn game ever made and history with chrono trigger being second best. What do you'll think?

The only bad thing about Final Fantasy VII is the "made with boxes" graphics. Now they have the oportunity to remake'em with high quality CG. Lots of potential fans weren't interested in the title because it's for PS1 and the PC game has horrible music. Square-Enix should make their move now that Advent Children is still fresh.

I believe there have been numerous online petitions about that. I admit, it would be awesome to play the same old game but with newly-made graphics and music. However, I read somewhere that one of the large petitions was emailed to SquareEnix, and they replied, saying that a remake was not currently in their plans. It's still a possibility for the future, though.

I would like it if they added more high level encounters, like the various weapons. Change some of the story. Course then it's not really a remake so much. Overall this was one of the best games. It could be polished and improved upon. More materia, a difficulty setting would be great. I read about hacked version where you fight low level bosses that cast holy for example, to counteract this, you also pick up stronger gear in the shops. (you're still lower level so it's much more difficult regardless)

From ff8-11 I was fairly disappointed with the franchise (ten being the ultimate let down, I couldn't enjoy the game because the story felt so stupid to me. No flames please just a personal view). I do have to say I for the most part really enjoyed 12 and the complexity of behavior you could setup with your companions.

I still think ff3 was the best one, but 7 makes a close second. I suppose even just updating the graphics would be pretty nice.

If Square-Enix wants to remake this game, then that's okay with me. However, I just wish they'd stop remaking the first two Final Fantasy games, though. It's just straight-out overkill, remaking FF I & II countless times.

Definitely I dont want a fresh version of Final Fantasy VII.

Final Fantasy VII is the greatest game ever, and graphics are part of the game. I completely understand that graphics can be a stop for new players, but not for the ones that have already played several years ago. Old graphics are so much pieces of my memory on this game ;)

And the OST of this game is for sure the BEST I EVER HEARD. I really love it.

Overall, I really prefer playing once more to the old version than having a remake.

No, the changes they would make would be damaging to the legacy of the original game.

1) The battle system would change because people are too lazy to adapt to an ATB system so it would be a battle system akin to Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy 12 and that would be horrible.
2) The soundtrack would change, Nobuo doesn't work for Square Enix anymore and I strongly doubt they'd be willing to pay over the odds to bring him back.
3) The voice acting is horrible and takes away from the experience.
4) Personalities would change to adapt to Advent Children and I'm not interested in an emo complaining Cloud throughout the whole game.
5) They'd have to add in hints and plot-points to the rest of the games which would be horrible because they were for the most part horrible fan-fiction storylines that didn't add anything to the original.

The only plus is the graphics would be better and that's it which isn't enough at all to qualify a remake. That's like saying "Hey, I want a remake of Ocarina of Time or Super Mario 64 so I can drool at next gen graphics some more". In my personal opinion, there are very few legit games that should qualify for a remake.

A perfect example of something that qualifies for a remake is something like the original Resident Evil. The voice acting was horrible, the direction was pretty poor, the atmosphere was terrible, the dialogue was awful, etc. So when news comes of a remake that would completely revamp the game in every aspect for Gamecube that was absolutely good news because this was a game that was so flawed initially that a remake which would better it was more than welcome and it did just that.

With Final Fantasy 7, there is NOTHING to better. The original game was amazing enough and it's not like the original game is impossible to find either. If you've got a PS3, it's on the PSN store, if you haven't there's probably a ton of copies on eBay or any other store around. It's not a rare game by any means. There's no real need to remake it then for "Ooo look at duh purty graphicz!", if you want to re-live how awesome it is then the best thing to do is to stick the original copy in and click 'New Game'.

No thanks. The game isn't so much about the graphics as it is the story and content. I played the game beginning to end a half dozen times. I've gotten every item, summon, etc. though out the game. A remake would merely be playing the game with better graphics. Look at the games now. Fantastic and beautiful graphics, but lack content and storyline. And they really are not that great for that reason. They don't have replayability, they don't hold your attention as well. I can't play FF7 anymore because i've played it to death. Having a remake, I wouldn't play it either. Instead focus on getting FFXi and FFXIV out sooner. FFXi has been puched back to June 2010, from a fall/winter release announced only a few months ago.

Honestly, I don't know why people want remakes.

I mean, I understand the concept of, "I wonder what (insert game/movie here) would be like if it was remade with the technology today". Sure, I've thought about a lot of games and what they would look like remade, especially this game called Shogo : Mobile Armored Division. However, there is a big piece of information we need to keep in mind. No game or movie, remade, is going to be exactly like it's original counterpart.

It's a fact of life. Even if by the chance that the original staff were to work on the project, it'd still be different. Why? Because as we grow older, how we think and feel changes. This can greatly affect the outcome of a certain project. You say you want to see Final Fantasy 7 updated and while I do agree it does peak my curiosity, I don't think it'd go over as well as so many people think.

It's also a fact that setting high expectations and building up a image of what something would be like in our heads can make the final product very disappointing. As previously stated, if said game was remade, it'll be a lot different than what we imagine. Odds are it's going to offend someone or else greatly upset a different selection of the FF7 fanbase. This, along with many other reasons that were stated as well in previous posts, is why I completely agree that remaking FF7 would be a horrible idea.

As Deerstalker said, I think only remakes should apply in areas that need them. Resident Evil made sense because the vision was far too grand for the original to fulfill and the remake was able to provide what the original vision had. Final Fantasy 7 was complete in itself. Yes, it had blocky characters, but even then it was very high end for it's time and truthfully provided a great gaming experience. Especially since it's on the PSN network for USA, I see no reason as to not just download it for ten dollars.

Also, not to seem as if I'm attacking you Scrooge, but just because the game is greatly popular doesn't mean we need a bunch of remakes. I think it was smart of SquareEnix to re-release Chrono Trigger due to the fact that the SNES version is horribly rare and expensive and for those purist who hated the load times with the PS1 version to experience it in a more original format. Just because a game has an insane popularity doesn't mean it should be remade. If you want to get technical, it's why FF7 is now on the PSN. It's because of how popular it was that they decided to put it up there. Truth be told, I'm glad that so many companies don't go in and remake games. It'd be a cheap way to make money on a game I've already played and if it doesn't need it, why do it?

Personally, what i want isn't a remake, but for the PSN release of the game to include PSP compatibility like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. That way, even if the graphics are not that great, at least it's portable. And it just makes sense for them to make it PSP compatible after the release of Crisis Core, which in my opinion, was absolutely brilliant. At first, I wanted a remake as well, but since they released on the PSN and with the staff of Square Enix focusing on Final Fantasy 13 and 14, I honestly doubt that they will have the time/manpower for a PS3 remake.

Um, you *can* download it to your psp if you have a memory stick with the room on it. I've been playing it on the go since it was released on the PSN. (around 1 gig of memory)

Wouldn't it just annoy everyone if they remade the game on something like the ds.
