Ever bitten by your own dog before?
Yeah, Last night, my dog dug out and ran loose in the park while i was gone, with my mother, to the beer store. Anyway, I went out to go find her when i hear her crying. She had ran out in the street and got her hine leg( leg's, not sure becuase i didn't see it happen) runover. I had to get her out of the street because it was getting dark and cars were coming. So i ran over and as i picked her up, she bit my right arm and wouldn't let go. I was running back to our yard and while i prying my arm out, she bit my thumb (nearly off). Of course, i was bleeding and my hand and arm were shuttering from the pain. A few minutes later she seemed to calm down so i was going to bring her in, because it was beginning to rain, and as i picked her up, she the left side of my face. That enraged me so i dropped her on the ground and left her out. The next day (today), my mother wanted me to bring her in and put her in the bath so she could clean the wound(her leg has a huge scrape). So, i retrived her sucessfuly and layed her in the bath tub. There, I was left to clean the wound and as i let the water, out she tryed to get up and jump out of the tub. She couldn't because out the injury, so as i was picking her up she panicked and bit my right arm, AGAIN! Could someone give me some advice on what i should do about the dog. We can't take her to the vet or anything because of financial problem and bills. So, any advice on what i should do about her and that injury?
Thanks-
Kid in pain.

Hmmm.. Maybe put some neosporin or other ointments on the wound. I know that's what my mom does. OUr cat got in a huge fight and had a gaping wound. She used hydrogen peroxide to disinfect, cleaned it out with a cloth gently and put neosporin on it until it healed. That's a much cheaper and easier method I think. Hope it helped. ^_^ And I hope you and your dog get better. ^_^

Dang double posts. x_x Sorry 'bout that every one!
Thanks, I'll try that. I was going to try rubbing alcohol but i was told not to. Think it would have the same effect?
Hmm. Rubbing alcohol.. I dunno'. It'd probably hurt your dog and you'd get bit again. x_x don't think rubbing alcohol's a good idea. Ha ha.. Glad I helped. ^_^
Yeah, that's what i was thinking. I had to use socks as a muzzel to keep her from biting my arm last time.
Anyway, Thanks for your help.

Yep, several times; my dog has a tendency to be grumpy every now it then.
I've never had my dog bite me but i have had my horse bite me.
As for what to do for you and your dogs injuries...
You can give your dog baby asprin (you might have to cut the pills smaller depending on how big your dog is) and for the scrape on its leg use neosporin or some anti-bacterial ointment. proably you'll want to bandage it with some gauze and medical tape (vet wrap works good it you can get it if not try looking in the pharmcy area of walmart for med. tape).
Band-aides and neosporin should fix your arm. Your proably going to need to use some rubbing alcohol or hydrogen proxide on your wounds to be extra sure they don't get infected.

Your dog probably only bit you because she was injured and afraid. And you running over all of a sudden, even if you did have her best interests at heart, did not help. It probably just spooked her more.
I think with injured and frightened animals, you should approach them slowly and calmly. Even if it is your pet.
Even though she bit you, you shouldn't have dropped her and left her outside while she was injured. That might change her temperament and she might not be as friendly towards you anymore. You're the human here, and I think that you could have handled the situation better than you did. But what's done is already done and you can't change the past, so I guess the only thing that you can do is to try and be nice to her and care for her.
Getting mad is not going to help the situation at all. It might just make her more alarmed and cause her to attack you again.
As for her injuries, I think that you can do like these people have suggested. Give her some panadol and gently clean her wounds and bandage it. Yea... rubbing alcohol on her would not be a good idea.
Good luck with your dog, I hope that you both get well soon=)

No, I don't have a dog, but I never got bitten by anyone's dog either. Dogs may carry rabies, if you get bitten by your/someone's dog.
Well... i have been bitten by my dog once... but it's quite small and i was still a child back then so i never really felt the pain about it but when i got older my aunty said that if i have already been bitten by a dog, i should have been vacinate because there maybe a virus or bacteria or something so only that time i feel pain because i was vacinated by 20-30 times and even my behind got vacinated... >.<
