This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

It's Toaru Majutsu no Index. It's pretty popular,it's just airing now, and it's only had 13 episodes come out and it already has 4 wallpapers.

Topic, how did it get to your PC/Laptop, feeling/experience/lesson learned?

Yes, I was! On a old computer, I had to share the computer with my family. My family doesn't download many programs or other stuff but my younger sister downloads willy-nilly and because of that, tons o' viruses. But now, a laptop just for me! I was pretty angry at her for doing something so moronic... And I learned never to share a laptop/PC with someone who will do something that you will want to bash your head into the wall. X3

...One time there were 25 trojans on my computer at one time and it wasn't spazzing out at all xDDD

Theres SOMETHING on this computer (not the one mentioned above, its my home PC) that will randomly give me these "Your computer is infected with spyware!" messages, yet the spyware and virus scans come up with nothing =P

First is: wtf is willy-nilly?

Am, I download things of the interenet all the time, bitturrents and everything, I never had viruses or spywear, or addware stay at my comp for more then a day. I use AVG to scan and protect from viruses and it works perfectly. I use Microsoft Antispyware to protect from spy ware and molicios softwear. And I use Ad-Aware to get rid of the adds or other unwanted things on the computer. I run a test once or twice a month. Also, the grate thing is that all those programs are free and updated automaticly all the time.

The "family computer", as in not my computer, is loaded down with spyware, adware, and all that Jazz. Both of my sisters download any and everything they find remotely funny, follow pop-up ads, and basically just fill the computer with poison, and they leave it to me to fix. I try and try and try again to tell them that they need to be careful of what the hell they download, but off they go and destroy the computer from the inside. So, I've basically given up on helping them with computer problems.
As for myself, I tend to be a little spastic when it comes to trojans and spyware, so I run constant check-ups and be very careful on my own computer. So far so good. -knock on wood-

Yea, ad-aware is really good. When you get a new computer, check and see how many processes are running, with xp it should start around 25-30, then depending on what you install it grows. Try and watch it, tipically anything like a virus / trojan would run under the users name, so organize by name and check it out.

Willy-nilly :P Random junk :D

same here, works liek a charm, not to mention that updates are free.
of course the most obvious source for getting trjans are from adult sites. most of them come with pop-ups or even as simple as cookies.

I am probably one of the only people who dont like AVG lol. At least when I used it, I had McAffe and AVG installed, so that was like 10-12 extra processes. Maybe I just obsess over processes too much, but I like my memory free :D

Shouldn't this thread be in the motherboard section? Guys post in the apporiate place to save mods and admins the hassle of moving it. Look properly before making threads

I clean it out by hand.
Process List, hey, what's this.
Or, hey, I don't remember creating that file.

I've never had a problem with viruses. Nothing's lasted long enough on my computer anyways to do damage.

Best friend to computer users like that... one word "Format" lol

I currently use Norton sense I get my subscription for a gift from a friend. It keeps things clean, but my comp is always clean becuase I know the internet and its tricks like the back of my hand.

You remember sasser? now that was one mad bastard. i once was dumb enough to connect to the net to download XP updates _before_ i installed firewall and antivir. well, it took him like 30 second, and puff -- reboot. as far as i remember this was the only time i got a virus or any other unwanted crap. all other violations were caught either by firewall or antivir. i used norton IS, but now i'm trailing nod32 + kerio and i must say they are very good and whats important -- light in resources consumtion ;]

Msblast was hilarious... at least for me cause it can't work out how to navigate my NAT. It was most amusing having friends who couldn't be online for more than a 90 second interval before their computer rebooted.

The only time I've ever had a virus (actually I'm not sure what it was), was when I got my new laptop. Something got in while I was updating the firewall/virus definitions/Windows for the first time. Killed my laptop in less than a few hours after unpacking it so that Windows wouldn't boot. Then I had to buy the restore disks.

This was a while back, now I use a Mac and haven't had any problems so far.

My parents/sisters computer gets spyware sometimes, but they run a full virus and spyware scan every weekend, and nothing bad has happened yet. They actually switched from a Linux distribution to Windows when they got a new computer (that I custom built), a while back. Surprisingly, Windows XP has been running very fast and stable for the last year and a half.

Assuming you're running XP and the messages popping up are Windows Messenger dialog boxes, try running Windows Update. SP2 alleviates the Windows Messenger problem.

I use kaspersky antivirus, Zone alarm firewall.
I clean with ad-aware & ccleaner & regCleaner.
And everything is ok because as soon as it detects something it erase it.
It is so good working than the antivirus also detects more : like he don't want Mirc to run because it say : not a virus -spyware included. Haha ...
