I dont really have a fav tecno band, but I listen to tecno every once and a while. It has to have a fast beat though. Like the tecno songs from Video Games too, like in DOA4. And when Its mixed in with other real instruments, it sounds really good too.

Daft Punk for me and chemical bros. The only techno i hate is Skitz mix, Wild and ministry of sound...they rip off music from 20 years ago and add some keyboard synthesisers into the song and thats it.
Ayria, VNV Nation, Scooter, and Assemblage 23 are my favorites. Ayria is just plain amazing, if you haven't checked out her music you should.

I hope when you say techno you don't mean trance. People get that mixed up sometimes. :/ But I presonally favor trance better. It's smoother and I like DJ Tiesto. :)

i dont really know that much about techno and trance only listen to them i;m trying to learn more, cuz my friends really into techno, and i wanna learn enough to correct him once so i can be like "WAHT! WHAT WHAT NOW HUH?" lol
Just don't listen to the DDR techno. It's perfect for the game but not for casual listening. It makes me want to get up and start stomping on pink and blue arrows.

Trance is a catagory of Techno, just like Break Beats, Hard Dance, Progressive, etc. But techo is techno, no matter how you look at it. If you go to www.di.fm you'll find live streams of techno in every catagory you can think of. I love the hard stuff that you rave to, but trance is great. I love Tiesto, Paul van Dyke, DJ Irish, Matt Hardwood, guys like that. So, go check out that website. The best way to learn about it, is to do it!

Im more of a trance/ hard trance guy. Yoji Biomehanika, Warp Brothers, man..... i listen to a lot of people and its good stuff. But i also listen to beatbeat, DnB, and all kinds of stuff
