This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Your point?

Peoples need common sense, people who don't have that were stupid.

That's an urban legend. we all know common sense doesn't exist.

Common sense is about as common as decent men.

Hai..this is my wall from AO, which I am revising right now. Currently it is at this stage. Take note that some elements from the previous version are still there (haven't removed them yet). So far...I'm planning on adding more of those wisps around Mariel and some parts of the background. I'm also thinking putting a light source or just rays somewhere at the top of the character. Rocks are and idea as well, maybe at the bottom left and some at the back of the character. The ripples...I'm not yet sure how to do them right...but as I think of a way how..any more inputs?

¬_¬ I think I work better with dark bgs. Light backgrounds unless they are abstract prove not to come out that good with me. <!--emo&:lol:--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='laugh.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The BG is way too blurry, it doesn't have any definition, and I'm not liking the text and effects. The water looks good, but I swear the character you used looks slightly retarded or something, she's got a real dopey look on her face.

I guess the blur effect gives out a mysterious and omnious presence, but i have to agree on that's it's too blurry. i think same effect can be achieved with by putting more mist instead of blurring. also, i think the typography should be more simpler, and without those squiggly lines...mabbe the usauge of simple cursive writing would work better? i also think the water level should be raised, mabbe to her waist...

but if i had to choose, i'd choose the 2nd version, because the color variety <!--emo&:)--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The character in the wall looks much better in the original Hanaukyo. The remake version just doesn't look that good in terms of character design.

The water looks great but as mentioned, the other elements in the bg is too blurry (sort of resized up-ish).

Junk the text. If you are going for this kind of style, might as well make it textless. Scenic walls are best textless.

The character looks like it has been put on layer dodge too much. Could be the scan itself but I prefer characters to be richer in colors instead of washed-out.

Overall the whole wall is nice but it's just the quality of the elements in it that's pulling it down. If the colors and sharpness are topnotch, it'd be a superb night scene wall.

Hm..okay..removed this and that...changed the bg a bit...the "color dodge" on the character was caused by the light rays layer over it... ¬_¬ forgot to remove the base one. About the character...I don't know..I think it is okay, maybe it me and my weird taste but if I can find or if anyone can recommend a different character pic then it stands as it is. Well...I'm stuck now. :faint: x_x

Ma~ this might be more practice for real bg and character blending. Keep at the comments people. :bounce:
