This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Rock, Paper, Scissors. One of the simplest and easiest games ever designed by man that just about every one can play. No dice. No board. Just the space around you and a flick of the wrist.

There are 3 simple easy to remember rules:

1. Rock beats Scissors.
2. Scissors beats Paper.
3. Paper beats Rock...

...wait hold up...what? Paper BEATS rock? How is that possible? If rock, a solid composition of minerals, can beat scissors, that are usually made of metal or hard plastic, why the hell can paper, a very thin material made up of plant fibers usually, beat it?

Rock beats scissors makes sense and scissors can cut through paper, but shouldn't rock be able to tear paper to shreds?

Your thoughts on this outrage.

Paper does INDEED beat the rock by blinding incapacitation. The rock is thrown into darkness when covered by the paper, and while bewildered by such a simple ploy, rock caves in and gives up, leaving paper to score a Mortal Kombat-style fatality.

Damn that paper. It's shifty, deceptive...perhaps evil?

As an aside, in a pinch, paper can pull the old "If you can't see it, it isn't there," philosophy as a tactical win over paper, but such matters are for scholars far wiser than myself.

Indeed. Rock is strong, but it only bears brute strength-- in its slow attempts to attack paper, it is overtaken by the speed and flexibility of the paper.

Paper can cover the rock therefore paper beats rock. and what you said about paper being made with plant fibers, plants can actually cut through rocks. An example would be trees that grow on mountains. You'll notice that the rocks have cracks because the root of the plant is taking space and slowly breaks the rock.

So in other words paper comes from plants, so they win over rock. wow, i didn't know there was a deeper definition for this game lol

Humm, well I always figured that the game would be pointless if nothing could be rock. Thats why they need paper! Though I admit, it always did feel a little strange striking down rock with a sheet of paper.

Then again, paper cuts hurt! That must be paper's strength over rock =P

True, but couldn't paper do the same thing to scissors since scissors and paper are sworn enemies? Why should rock only be susceptible to the craftiness of paper? Rock does have brute strength on it's side, yet that necessarily wouldn't make it any smarter or less clever than scissors which only cuts through paper (effectively making smaller more mobile versions of paper) and can do nothing against rock? Cannot scissors be persistant in it's efforts to beat rock like paper has supposedly shown in its psychological tactics to beat such rock?

Why must rock be degraded by such means?

Rock must prevail against paper. Do you not smelll what the rock is cooking?!!

Then again, paper cuts hurt! That must be paper's strength over rock =P

I'd rather get a paper cut than be bashed in the head by a rock...though neither are appealing.

And plant roots can move through rock because rock is kind enough to let it pass. If rock wasn't so sincere and considerate to life, it'd crush those roots and make a beer out of it.

Rock is a soft giant.

To quote "Seinfeld!" the greatest show of all time.

KRAMER & MICKEY: Rock, paper, scissors match.

MICKEY: all right, rock beats paper.

(Mickey smacks Kramer on the hand for losing)

KRAMER: I thought paper covered rock?

MICKEY: Nah, rock flies right through paper.

KRAMER: What beats rock?

MICKEY: (looks at his hand) Nothing beats rock.

KRAMER: all right come on.

KRAMER & MICKEY: Rock, paper, scissors match.

KRAMER: Rock.

MICKEY: Rock

KRAMER & MICKEY: Rock, paper, scissors match.

KRAMER: Rock.

MICKEY: Rock.

Well...
Paper sheets are made from plants, there are many types of papers~
Papyrus, regular paper, etc
The sheets placed in current bullet proof armor id say, are a type of paper, even though its pretty much in-effective creating an elastic dis-acceleration of the bullet and preventing penetration, however it does not cancel out the impact damage (so you can break a rib and die anyway)~

Well, I've never thinking about this matter before. ^^ It's quite interesting. Maybe, in the reality, the paper can't beat the rock, it can only bind the rock by covering it. But, if the rock is smashed through the paper, sure the paper will be teared easily. ^^ But, like Arez's example, the paper's side is sharp enough to make someone bleeding. ^^ Maybe this base can be used on the way the paper beat the rock. ^^ About the other idea, I've got nothing for this. ^^

Yup paper never beats rock
it's just a game , like BrikHaus81 example , if no one beats rock then
the game wouldn't be intresting anymore
maybe by some ways , paper can cover the rock but what purpose?
if by just covering it the paper wins , i thought that the winner is
the one that can break through others..
Scissors beat papers , no question
Rocks beat Scissors , Still no question
Paper beats Rock ?

Well the reson why we say paper beets rocks it's cus it can rap the rock..

it's true thogh that the way you think if we take a big rock and put it on the pice of paper it can tear it apart.. but it also depends on the size of the rock...

well anyways it's just a lame game the we play when we have nothing ealse to do or if we argue on who is going to win get or do somthing...

and anyways we need somthing to beat rock so ya how care anways??

I think it's pretty obvious that rock beats paper after wtching the recent Superbowl.
