The idea behind this one is to use the comic images to show Naota in a few different styles and for the background I employed a halftone look from the landscape of the city to keep with the comic feel.

Honestly i think this might be accepted as is. love the comic effect and the halftone is a nice touch. could make the bg alittle more grungy. the text is fine as is. did a good job with the scan of the guy to the left, nice and clear. the guy on the right needs some work, he might not even need to be there.

This actually got rejected, so I'm not sure. I think I might take the advice I gave you -- try to give it something a little more than flat scans on a bg. Typogrophy , custom vector, etc. something more.

I also think it's great. Love the grungy and monotonous look to it, and it's definitely something to go on for future wallpapers. Try using grungy brushes in the background to complete the look. There are plenty on deviantART to choose from and they'll really enhance the look of the wallpaper.
Yep, it's definitely ready for entry to AP already!

I agree with the rest. I like style the totalness of the wallpaper. Submit it again with our names as a reference! :P
I honestly think it's pretty good as is, i don't know why it would be rejected, check the gallery, maybe there are too many walls using the same scan. I like the look and feel of it, the grungy and collageishness. It looks to be pretty well extracted with no fuzyness, i think the layers blend together well. the dark of the mountian in the background cuts through naota's body is a little distracting but it doesn't realy bother me, this is the only thing i could think of to change maybe lighten it a bit. good work!

I think all you have to do is to get rid of the two images on the right and stick with your main one... Also i reccomend in centering it... Also another problem with your wall is that hand at the top... To tell the truth it through me off... Other than those things I think it's an awsome wall... I am almost positive that it will get accepted if you do those things... so I wish you the best of luck in re-submitting your wall...
I DUNNO i think is great the way it is :O great work
Don't think mixing the Manga Art and Art from the show is a good Idea, the styles are compleatly different.
and I'd drop the Cirlcle texture, its distracting and doesn't add to the wallpaper.

Tone down on the pattern a bit.. When a wall is rejeted the od usually sends a letter telling you what you could improve on.. What did he/she write? Also the large pic of his head on the right could go. Otherwise a very interesting wall.. Just make the patterns opacity lower if you want to keep it.

Any reason given for rejection?
It does seem a little "low effort". The majority of the wall is made up of putting a couple of scans together (mixing sources is one of things people either like or hate - I'm not keen myself) and then adding the circle texture (which is a little over-bearing) and the text (I actally like this the best).
I'm not sure how you would fix the wall as such - maybe chalk it up to experience and move onto your next project?

Hmm, my suggestion would be to add something that stands out. The whole thing seems a bit neutral, and I agree with the patterns attributing to some obnoxiousness as well. In my personal opinion, I would scrap the two supplementing naota images to the right and centralize the larger scan. Maybe color in some significant areas/or blend in some stock photos (ie: the rickenbacker bass). Just anything to to notarize some kind of focal point.
