Azumanga Daioh - Kagura

Couldn't think of a name, hence the generic one it has now.
I wish I could say I did the vector, but alas, I didn't. Its from /hr/ on 4chan. more then likely, its originally from here on Animepaper...
NEwho, any suggestions?

Cute vector, I can see why you wanted to use it on the wallpaper ^^
I like what you are going for but there's some thing that really bug me about this wallpaper.
The first is the text it really doesn't look good. It just has no personality and the gradient combined with the blue stroke and drop shadow look really... uhm... tacky. It doesn't really say anything about the wallpaper and I feel doesn't even really need to be there. If you are going to use text then I would suggest a more interesting font ( dafont.com has some good ones) that fits with Kagura's personailty some more, and also come up with something more imaginative then just "Azumanga Daioh".
Also I love the blue shdow and the spots in the yellow but it's just a tiny bit too plain. Maybe try and brighten it up by adding some more colours in there. I also feel they clash a little bit too much with the colours on Kagura, maybe just warm them up a little bit. It might also help if you add something in there that reflects her personailty a bit more, like something to do with athletics.
It just needs to be a little more interesting in terms of the background and relate more to Kagura as a character. You've made a good start and I kinda like it how it is, it's just a little too plain (including the text and colours) for my liking.
Good luck and I hope I've helped ^^

I used the colors that are used during the opening of the show.
As for the font, I haven't gotten around to selecting a little more stylish font.
File has been updated with Warmer colors.
As for adding to the simplicity, what would you suggest?

It's looking much better with the slighty warmer colours. The blue contrasted with the reds too much, now you've balanced that out and managed to keep the brightness of it which is good. The yellow is also looking alot better. It actually makes the background work more because your eye isn't drawn to all the negative space like it was before.
I haven't seen Azumanga Daioh for ages so that explains why I didn't recognise the colour scheme Oo;;
As for adding to the simplicity I'm not too sure what to suggest... The main thing that springs to mind is some more vector shapes with the dots on and with some more colour (only a couple though or I think it'll look too OTT). You could also try incorperating the writting into the background. If you did it that way it would help solve the font issue you are having. You could stick to a similar kind of font then too, which would save you time looking for a new one. Remember to play around with the placement of it if you do decide to make the writting part of the background.
Does that make sense at all? I wish I knew of a wall which would be a good example of what I mean... Anyway good luck with the changes and hopefully I'll get to see it soon (I'm going to be away/busy for a couple of days).

I've updated the wallpaper again, I also changed the font, and messed around with things
I've also filled up some of the negitive space.
What do you think?
Thanx for the help BTW
