Problem with Photoshop
My computer has been doing something wierd with photoshop since monday, it will load then instantly close as soon as it comes up. My friend (who used the same CD I did) said she had the same thing happen and it went away in a few days and i'm hoping this will be the same thing... but ive uninstalled it and reinstalled it multiple times and nothing changes. Imageready works but not Photoshop. My Paint Shop Pro has been preforming less and less over time (dunno, things just quit working on it) and im hoping Photoshop isnt meeting the same fate because I can't afford to by CS or CS2 ;_;
Anyone else have this happen to them and if it did what did you do about it (or what happened)?

Not to me, have you touched the registry files?
I never touch those o.o It just randomly stopped working right
Well i would uninstall whatever you installed recently, it could be causing some crashing.
I havent installed anything in a long time, i have no more harddrive space =X
Oh, that could be bad. Have you defraged in a while?
I did alot a month or 2 ago and a little just the other day... and i still dont have that much space no matter what I delete (because ive deleted everything I dont use/care about now) =/
Well if you got the money i would get a new HD and have it set to secondary. Then move the major files over to it.

Ya your small HDD space may be the problem of APS closing on you! Have large amounts of HDD space free is VERY important!
What i would do is get the second HD, move all your non-OS files onto it and then defrag both. Then have a try. But also this could be telling you if your computer is like 4 years old that its time to move on and get a new computer.
RAM could play a major part in this as well. Photoshop programs requires a sufficient amount of RAM to run or the program will slow down and may eventually crash. I used Paint Shop Pro 9 and 10 once with only 256mb of RAM in my com and shit was dam slow and it kept crashing everytime.
Hope this help

I planned on getting a new hardrive anyway, probably sometime this summer, i needed the space anyway. I'll try getting rid of every unnessicary thing when I get home from this weekend and see if that helps untill I can get a new HD.
I've had this computer exactly 3 years now. No way can I afford one or will get one till college, so this has got to last me a couple more years at least (its a great computer, it just doesnt have much HD space, but i think aa sufficent amount of ram... but it may be gone by now) My 95 lasted me 9 years (I stopped using it in 2004 a year after I got my HP and then got a new computer at my grandparents (which has way less HD space and ram then my HP, but atleast PS still works on it), this one wont have to last quite THAT long, but it needs to work for a few more years (or atleast untill I get new harddrive... though I dont want to buy one then it die on me =P like my friends new HD)
I'll try taking off alot of stuff when I get home.... I really wish I had a bigger flash drive =P

Whats the ram and the processor? because it should be easy to upgrade the ram depending on what processor you have.

EvintaWhats the ram and the processor? because it should be easy to upgrade the ram depending on what processor you have.
Huh? The Processor has little bearing on what RAM can be used... it would be better to ask about the motherboard...
You also might want to check the administrative event log if you're using Windows 2000/XP as this should tell you if programs have been terminated due to unavailable page file space (which in turn means no HDD space when its been needed).
I'll check it all when I get home. In the meantime i'm on a computer where PS works... cept I didnt have time to save my vector and bring it here @~1@ Oh well *works on something else for the time being* Thanks for all the advice everyone :) I will check the motherboard details and see how I can upgrade
