This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Is it worth it to download IE7 yet? I would download it now, but for one I don't know how much it will affect my Windows XP. (if at all) I'm also not sure how my parents will deal with it. I use Firefox, but they don't like it since it's different than IE, so I don't know if they could handle the difference between 6 and 7.

What do you who have used it think?

I mostly just downloaded it just to keep my software up 2 date, by affecting xp i dont really know what you mean besides possible malware, spyware and other thing let in by IE. Though if you do download it there will be a change, i dont remember the old IE anymore because ive been on firefox since like 12 or 13, but in this one they change the positions, sizes, and what they look like of things like the stop and reefresh buttons. Now if i remember correctly at install they hide the bar with file edit view ect, but to get it bak you just have to right click in the top bar and click on menu bar, plus theres the tabbed browsing in it now.
What exactly cant you computer illiterate perents get used to in FF cause there may be add-ons or skins or sometihng to make it look and feel like IE.

Little point in downloading the release candidate as Windows Update will do it by default in the near future anyways.

If your parents can't handle the differences between IE6 and Firefox, it's going to be much tougher to get them to switch to IE7. The new GUI is confusing even for me. I use it on my Vista machine about twice a week and I still don't know where everything is and what does what. They've moved everything and replaced some of the top menus with buttons with dropdown menus. Not to mention the whole layout is totally different from IE6.

If it's for your parents, I recommend you stick with IE6. You can try IE7 because for the most part, it is a huge improvement over IE6 in terms of actually following many of web language standards.

Yeah, I agree with karbonfyber, stay with IE6 if its for your parents. Though try to get them to use Firefox, its just overall a much better web browser with little to no problems, and an easier-to-use interface.

Yup, I switched over to Firefox, and it is way cooler. I don't think your parents would have problems with it, but if they do try finding out if theirs a Firefox layout that looks or feels like IE6.

IE7 has a problem with profiles, which is especially annoying since it can make you authentication sessions buggy. I uninstalled it because I was having problems staying connected to my network. The interface looks much cooler, but I'll wait till they iron out the bugs before I get it. Firefox works just fine.

Internet Explorer 7 is pretty much a rip of FireFox and their more "secured" coding (even though there is no such thing as completely secured coding).

I have stayed with firefox because there really isn't much of a good reason to switch back to Microsoft's.

Well, from how it sounds I'll try to get them to learn Firefox when Microsoft forces me to get 7.

Thanks for that advice.

There seems to be some bugs in IE 7, and I can't upload stuff from my computer online using it. Firefox is much more reliable, but if that's not your thing, wait until IE improves. Either IE has a problem or Windows has a problem with it... I still say Firefox is better...
