Firefox 2.0
So firefox has released it's 2.0 version, does anyone have any opinions on the update seeing as it's pretty much trying to get out of "beta" in line with the release of IE7(which is just a bit buggy actually) personally aside from the incompatibility of most of my themes and extentions which are not directly necessary to the operation, I've had faster load times with the app and less memory useage, but the memory usage might just be my imagination, anyone else?
The things I don't like about FireFox:
Takes up 62MB of memmory compared to 35MB in IE7.
When I set an image as a background image, a window on top of the screen appears.
Downloading files is a bit of a pain.
Does not save my current set up.
Looses all bookmarks if I exit firefox and then 4 minutes later I unproperly turn off the computer.
I can't set up my search engines, it just won't let me.
Does not play or do some things IE does, espacialy around Microsoft websites.
Things I do like about FireFox:
Fast start up.
Fast when browsing AP. and not so fast with other sites.
Properly shows pages.
Updates.
Tool plug-ins.
Overall:
I only use it for browsing AP. For everything else I use IE7.

Firefox 2.0 in my opinion, is a much better build from the original. There ARE a few bugs here and there, but I suppose that was to rush it out so it would be there with IE7. The sad thing is, none of the "old" extensions work with the 2.0 build. What a shame. Hopefully many of the extensions/themes (Azerty i ftw!) will be updated soon.
That is true. In my eyes there hasn't been a huge amount of change other than cosmetic ones.
Kinda disappointed at the fact that some of my extension don't work anymore :(
I do like the spellcheck :) I have horrible spelling so it's nice to have Firefox check it :)
Has anybody seen the phishing checking in action tho?

The spell check really IS annoying when your trying to typ horibly like i am now lol.
Love the spell check and the fact that if your browser does not close properly it recalls your past session. There is this bonus I noticed.. like if you have a tab with a URL of an image, the icon of the tab is the thumbnail to it. Not really useful but just thought I'd point it out. I haven't used IE this past year at all.
I'm going to wait for a while before I download it. Mostly because I know people who installed it and are having some minor problems with the browser crashing, and the like.
The only gripe I have with the new Firefox is that nearly all of my extensions don't work, and most of my themes no longer work. Other than that, it's been loading most pages at the same rate, if not faster. And the spell checker is a little handy, not as useful to me because I'm really grammar and English conscious.
As for the disk space usage, I'm not a disk space whore, so that doesn't really matter, as long as I'm not using anything IE/MS related =)

So far same old same old, but I use my browsers for pretty basic things. Frankly I dig Firefox a lot, it is already way past IE as my favorite, although it is nice IE is trying to catch up.
Firefox is great but at the moment i am trying opera. Trying to make my mind up on which one i'm going to stick to.

I just wanted to say I hate firefox even though I am using it now cause it is faster for AP. The main reason I hate firefox is because it doesnt like all the cascading style sheets. Some Style sheets that work for safari and IE do not work properly in fire so I have to code two times or three times using the <![if !IE]><![endif]> and <![if IE]>
<![endif]> concept because people all over the globe use multiple browsers. BTW I primarly use three browsers IE, PHOTOBUCKETS FLOCK(by the creators of firefox) and Firefox because people are dumb and will continue to use different browers when IE is far superior.

There's nothing really that bad about Firefox 2.0.
I don't use anything like themes and I haven't had problems with extensions at all.
What I had to do, though, to get it working properly was install it twice. Bit of a pain in the ass, but whatever.
IE7 on the other hand...can kiss my ass. I hate the way it looks and its browser setup.
