As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

It really wouldn't matter. SAT coverage is very effective.

And what if the suspect runs off and leaves the car behind

$Loftydreamer 40 minutes ago
We should just give police satellite access. Let the criminal go rest some place and storm the building. Rather than 3 tons of car barreling around the streets at 100 mph with an unskilled driver behind the wheel.

Just throw in some spikestrips and some trucks to block of the road

Just installed Vista Home Premium on my computer and had some issues right off the bat..

Windows DVD Creator crashes everytime after I import media into it..

Windows Movie Maker, sometimes crashes when media is dragged onto it..

iTunes- Won’t authorize my computer to play my music.. When I click on the song I want to play, it says that the computer is not authorized to play music on this computer. I type in my password and it says that it is now authorized, but when I click on it to play the same song after it is “authorized” and still won’t play..

I hope that there will be some patches soon, this is getting really annoying and kind of makes me wish I didn’t upgrade at all yet and just waited for bugs to get fixed..

If anyone has any way to get around the iTunes problem in particular, please post it.. Thanks.

Ow, that maybe the bugs on the Vista that still exist. That's why I'll wait several month before i'm buying the Vista. And about the iTunes, try to check your authorization on the menu(I've forgotten which menu) that have a choice authorize. And maybe your iTunes doesn't work because of the Vista's lack of compatibility for now. ^^

Read this page from Apple on using iTunes under Vista.

iTunes and Windows Vista

If you did an upgrade rather than a clean install, there is a tool to fix iTunes under Vista. There's a link on the first page, but here's another link to it anyway.

iTunes Repair Tool for Vista 1.0

Apple
The iTunes Repair Tool for Vista 1.0 will repair permissions for important files required by iTunes to play your iTunes Store purchases.

If you are in North America you should just call the Vista tech support. Vista comes with 90 days free support. Just remember to do it when you have some free time :)

Glad to see you got it working... I on the other hand am still waiting on Creative to put out some decent drivers. These Beta's they have right now are real flaky!

That right, i hope we will have new drivers for the creative sound cards shortly, mmm with estereo mic support, and maybe add some new functions to the surround mixer... mmm a tip.. i will not use any encrytation policy on my hard drive ( s ) until we have a service pack for windows vista... mmm i mean, cause if my o s crahses i will have a lot of problems recovering my informations, so i fear the bugs in the operative system.

I'm running vista ultimate, still have yet to have an issue. I've noted however that a few of the games I play have a significantly lower frame rate, but I think that's more nvidia/ati's faults than anything because of their lack of good driver support yet. So, you may want to watch out for many new updates in terms of small fixes and driver compatibility/improvement updates

Vista is not that great at all... I have a copy since the first day it was out for Businesses. First day I found over 20 bugs many such as it would crash when you put it into sleep.

Windows Vista Ultimate has an Ultimate Extra that lets you back up and restore your encryption key...to protect against failures of that magnitude.

Or you can do it manually.

I haven't read up on the encryption that Windows Vista uses, but I don't think that losing the encryption keys is the real problem. What happens if the encrypted file/image gets corrupted due to a system crash or in the case of a desktop (or laptop with no battery power) if the power gets cut off causing damage to the file/image?

This is currently a problem with Mac OS X's FileVault, if it gets corrupted then you loose everything. Now most of the time it will be fine, even if the OS crashes or the power gets knocked out, but occasionally it will cause problems.

That's what I'm worried about too. For the best backup, buy an extra HDD (if necesarry) and put it in RAID 1 or 5.

Obviously, the chances of a power failure corrupting each and every one of your encrypted files if much, much, much, much (etc) slimmer than you needing to reinstall the OS. It'd take a insanely massive failure, on the scale of a HDD failure (At which point you're screwed regardless) to corrupt all of your EFS/Bitlocker encrypted files.

But that is why you can back up your key. If something happens, and you lose your key (through whatever means,) then you can recover it, and regain access to your files.

I cannot stress enough just how bad Vista is. Get a mac, keep using XP, or switch to linux. Whatever you do, do not use Vista. Nothing but problems, no improvements worth mentioning. Hey, you want a shiney looking desktop with all sorts of worthless cruft, get a mac or use kde on linux.

The scary thing is, XP seems like the best Windows OS ever, compared to Vista.

This is first hand experience folks.

Hey, but it is always up to you in the end. Does it feel good to have low framerate and a audio card that doesnt work properly, even though both of these things worked beautifully on XP?

Just reading this thread is one more nail in the coffin.

Are you even using it or are you just assuming based on what others say?

I love how people are making it seem like Vista will be perfect out of the box. Wake up and smell the coffee. Win9x was crappy right out of the box. WinXP was crummy right out of the box. Vista certainly won't be perfect right out of the box.

Vista uses a totally new driver architecture compared to the Win9x/XP operating systems.

MS has already said that games based on OpenGL will be slower due to the new driver architecture. Some D3D based games will actually have improved framerates and DirectX 10 is far more efficient and much faster then DirectX 9c is. The few D3D games I have installed do indeed run faster then on XP. I'm running ATI X1950 Pros in Crossfire mode and in some games I've averaging 20FPS more now in Vista then I was in XP.

ATIs Vista drivers are actually pretty solid. Nvidia on the other hand are facing a class action lawsuit about their drivers but that's a different story.

Creative has had royally crappy driver support for years so why is everybody surprised that they are still offering crap? My X-Fi in my other PC is plagued with issues in WinXP. Crackling and popping galore. I can't even play Quicktime videos without it dropping audio.

Personally the Realtek 8CH HD Audio in this PC is rock solid in Vista. They had Vista ready drivers a week before the consumer launch and they're flawless and they sound far better then my X-Fi ever did.

How is it Vista's fault that Creative can't write a driver? Realtek apparently can.
