This wallpaper gives us a perfect example of how a simple manga scan can be turned into a beautiful vector. Not only did danalm trace the lineart, but he also added amazing details and a simple, yet wonderful background. Furthermore, the wallpaper shows us how the monochromatic style can make your work look really interesting.

Please bare with the stupidity... What programs do you use for your graphics and web designs? Notepad, Dreamweaver, Adobe Photo, PSP.. etc.. Please list them all as I have a speech to write due by Wednesday in which I "inform" my audience of the latest stuff... So yeah I'll check back here on Sunday....

Gracias all...

*hands out Pocky sticks as a sign of grattitude.

(I can either email them to you, fax them, or if you want leave your address.. ^_~) I wouldn't suggest faxing because the machine will be ruined and the stick will be mushy.. I hated melted frosting...

Like practically just about everybody here, I use Photoshop for graphic design, although I do suck at using it to even a quarter of its potential, *grumbles*. As for website design and development, I am totally hardcore and use a simple little program called Notepad (tehehe!) for coding just about everything. Every now and then I use a trial version of Dreamweaver for those times where I really need syntax highlighting and some built-in references to guide the way.

Edit: So why do you need to give a speech to your audience about this stuff? Is it for school? Business? Practice in statistics or surveying? I'm just curious. XD

Personally, I can't stand notepad. I probably make tons of syntax errors, so I really need the syntax highlighting feature.
I usually use vi in Linux. So far, I haven't found any good text editor that has syntax highlighting in Windows.

That's cool your taking graphics/web design, tho there doesn't seem to be a lot that you can write about with this topic ^_^;
Like Zethil, I use Photoshop (7.0 to be exact, CS died on me :( ) for graphics stuff. For websites, I just use the Geocity WebBuilder even tho it sucks. Well, I can't really complain since it's my fault I'm too lazy to learn how to HTML code or even to use DreamWeaver XD

Adobe ps is probably the top for graphics. Websites are made from raw html and love. yes love is key in everything, no you can not download it too bad.

Hey way to put it, sumomo! :) Inspiration also plays a vital factor in creating any real "graphics" or websites. You can have all the best software and tools in the world, but without inspiration, you're left pressing random buttons and typing in random stuff, and that's going to get you nowhere.

I use all sorts of programs. For graphic designing, I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and Adobe Illustrator 10. For website designing, I use Notepad (I usually to do it manually) and Microsoft Frontpage.

I've been using Photoshop for a long, long time. I really should upgrade to CS. Don't know why I haven't gotten around to doing that yet.

I use NoteTab to build web pages. I like having the tabs. It lets you work on more than one thing at a time. I'll open the page in Firefox, make my changes, refresh in the browser to check it out. Then check it in Opera and that other dumb browser, what's it called again?

Hrm... I use pretty much what everyone else has already said, photoshop cs and notepad... ^^;;; I used to try and use textpad for the syntax highlighting but I ended up using notepad all over again... =shrugs= I would try and learn how to use Dreamweaver but I like really understanding the code ^^;; I'm a programmer at heart

You know you have the option in dreamwaver to view as a coder or designer right? I make my php and javascript on dreamwaver, it's not about understanding the code, I like it it's more of an all in one thing.

Oh by the way, flash is a great program to learn, along with Xhtml, due to the domination of broadband internet, html pages will be obselete in the near future.

Not really, XHTML is the backbone and foundation of all things pertaining to the existence of web design and development. You can have Flash, sure, and even broadband internet, but without XHTML to render the Flash item on your web browser, all things are useless.

I think you mean static HTML pages will be obsolete in the near future, right? If so, then it really will be. Fancy things like XHTML, CSS, PHP (and other scripting and database technologies) can be used and incorporated into a dynamic page, making websites all the more interesting and powerful. So yes, static web pages will die one day... unless they're used as templates. :P
