*SIGH* Well I got deducted 100 points for trying to send this wallpaper in. All be it it's not the best wallpaper in the world but I didn't think it was THAT bad >< I'm still a newbie at making walls so it is a little simple but that was kind of the feeling I was going for.

Can someone please tell me what it is I did wrong. I'm wondering now if I should even attempt to upload wallpapers anymore. I don't want to lose anymore hard earned points than I already have. *paranoid* Here's a link to it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I like the intricate looking border *-* Maybe the main problem was the scan? the blue glow looks uneeded as well

Didn`t they tell you the reasons for rejection in your inbox of PM? they usually do ._. anyways, I`m also new at making walls and got one rejected too but that`s not going to stop me, try to look at the positive side..... all the requirements are a motivation to keep improving :)

I agree with Raodekia. I'm still not so confident in my work yet either but I'm trying to to get there and learnt he ways of paper-making O-o;

Well I got a letter but it seemed to more just give me a list of things that "could" be something wrong with it.

Your wallpaper has been deleted for one or more of the following reasons: Pixelated image and or poor extraction. Use of resized image/low quality/blurry scan as primary image. Heavy use of standard Photoshop/graphics program filters. Use of screencaps as primary image source. There have been minimal edits to the original scan and does not qualify as a user made wallpaper. You submitted a wall that looks too beginner-ish with no style or substance which should be kept to session zero. You have made no comments about your wallpaper.

Pixelated image? Well this is a cover from the 1 OST, it's a fine scan, it's just sketchy. It was not resized in anyway and was a pretty good quality.

Was it that I used too many filiters? I've seen a lot more filters on a number of other walls on here. I kind of liked the glowy effect and how it frames her face but maybe the Admin didn't like that.

As far as edits of the original scan I spent quite some time erasing around the lines, inverting it and giving it a slight hazy glow so I don't think that's it.

I like to think that this wallpaper has some style. I hate walls that just have a character slapped on over a designy background that has no real interaction with the character. I wanted a black background to emphasize on the emergance of the glowing lines and borders. But maybe he just didn't like it.

Personally I like it but I guess it's all just opinion :( Thanks for the help but I think I should just stick to making signatures and banners rather than wallpapers. Don't have the time.

Well, you can`t expect to please everyone :) that someone doesn`t like your wallpaper doesn`t make it bad, you know? you said you`re still a newbie at making walls....then it`s all practice and motivation :) I was more used to making signatures and banners, just recently started making wallpapers and I like this a lot more ^_^ I don`t consider myself very good for this yet, but one of my wallpapers got accepted.....and if I got one, it can be done again :) it all depends on you though....if you really like something, and want to be good at it nothing will get on your way ^_^ and, there`s also this section if you aren`t sure about your work....thanks to this I could turn something terrible into something a lot better :) (from this: http://img466.imageshack.us/img466/7110/wallpaperzoe2copy3tx.jpg to this: http://img358.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wallpaperkanon2copy2rl.jpg )

PD: what did we learn today? you shouldn`t stop making wallpapers :)

I like the wallpaper. Of course its not perfect but I'm surpirsed it was reject. I've seen them except wallpapers that were much worse. Even if they didn't like it, the technique is all there and it pretty clear it wasn't hastely put together. But thats just my opinion, I guess they must have thought differently.

OK I like the border thing- Its different- Its the image- It doesnt match. You see how your border goes over the character's iamge? Dont make it just an outline. If you do, remove the borders- Its one or the other. The blue blur that goes over everything is out of place. It jsut shoots throught the character. Your background seems a little bare, like you're trying to fill empty space. Interesting start though, but if you're going to keep the border, make sure the image is WITHIN it.. Also, dont make her a sketch work if it is to have a border...

I like it a lot - maybe you could clean up the sketchyness of the character. I like the way she seems to glow but vector her so that the lines are crisp & clean. The cleanness of the border & the font are too different from the character itself. Also, the symbol seems kind of grungy - but nothing else does. Contrasting elements don't always compliment. I like the blue stuff, too, but it's concintrated on her face - if you want to keep it - tone it down & spread it everywhere. You may want to put a little something else in there, too. It is a little empty. But beautiful.
