Can kids learn values from watching ANIME?

I mean, anime it's not only entertainment, I think it can be educational too.
Rather than watching US deformed cartoon caracters anime presents a more convenient kind of animated television.
Rugrats, what a disgusting babies, if you see a real baby with that face, you probably puke on him.
Tom and Daly from The Simpsons, do we really want our kids to shove/cut/mutilate our pets??
Ren & Stimpy, gross... visually its too much for any eyes... animals deformed presentation.
I really don't understand why ANIME is not the most transmited/aired kind of shows all over the world.

Yep, anime is much more than normal cartoon. It can be dramatic, funny, scary. normal cartoons are made for kids. Manga and Anime are made for people in all ages, for kids and for old ones.
Anime is much more better even than normal movies and tv series.
Anime 4 ever !

Anime contains a theme, like a book, which if you ponder enough, you'll learn something. Something like the end of Elfen Lied, or the end of Full Metal Alchemist movie, or the end of Fate/Stay Night. Series that make you think a lot, thinking why it ended that way or how it could end differently can increase your creativity power.

Anime can teach you some values... i mean inuyasha -"don't two time on girls, it makes them feel sad," lolz. prince of tennis - "don't give up because you can achieve something if you keep trying,"

I think anime can teach kids good things. Like in the manga "Alice 19th", you learn that words are really quite powerful and you must be careful of what you say. The manga series "Imadoki" teaches that everyone is special and that you should treat everyone equally no matter who they are.
Think about it. Each anime has a main character. The main character is sometimes a "hero/heroine" and are considered "good guys". Most kids could learn things from that "hero". So yeah, anime has educational value.

Unlike american cartoons, anime can be very deep sometimes. They can teach you lots of values. Animes follow a storyline. And you learn different things as they progress. Yakitate Japan is very educational. Anime about bread. They say everthing down to the ingredients used in a bread. American cartoons are episodic.

Well, in my opinion, of course it does, most of them anyway, behind about every anime theres some kind of point, or, the points on the front, it can make the person somewhat change his way of thinking, hopefully a positive way of thinking.
And theres that, people that paint, can use these to train and stuff, .. when they grow up, they do it as their job, and live off it, and the wheel turns again and again >_> ,

You people are too biased on the anime-cartoon thing...i grew up watching tom and jerry kill each other yet it hasn't affected me either way. and it's not like young kids can really understand your so called "values" in anime.as anime's usually are targeted at older audiences. kiddie cartoons are made not to make any sense at all. and of course are not any source of "values" and it's not like i learned any "values" in anime at all. i watched quite a lot of animes and i'm still evil as they come. though i admit that kiddie cartoons these days are really pathetic.

I would totally agree with that. Most anime can be viewed throughout all ages depending on which anime it is. Since anime has the reputation of be violent in some anime series.

Yes, also agree with this. But of course anime is not for for every age since some might not understand it since it cartoons with deep interactions and some are not suitible for really young viewers. Most of the time I think people in the U.S. who broadcast shows think kids of like seven, think that it's fun for the kid, but man have you ever seen some of those shows. Sometimes I think younger viewers would be much more mature as they grow older if they watched some presentable anime good for younger veiwers which I had a chance of seing with some younger kids a some library. But this is just my opinion.
Agreed. I grew up watching anime so believe it or not, many of my values and morals are influenced by the series I watched.

I would definitely have to agree that you can learn stuff from anime as oposed to U.S. cartoons. Anime (most anyway) have great story, purpose, unerlying reason for actions being taken, and great character personalities.
