Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X)
In my very own personal opinion, this is the best anime ever. It has everything I can wish from an anime, romance, action, cool characters. I could not belive there is no other discution to talk about it. well, enogh about me, I want to listen to what you have to say.

i agree you vlath. i took firths "kenshin reminiscence" from my friend. i dont know what was that about , honeslty i didnt expect that is so great anime. Coversation betwen people and their behaviors was so well adjusted. and final part of that was so impressive. [ bytheway sorry about my poor english :) ]
Kenshin is so cool when he changes into the mankiller...his eyes are yellow! With the look of someone who wouldn't hesitate to kill!

I didn't like samurai x compared to regular rurouni kenshin...it was too serious and yahiko wasn't there...i prefer Setas technique out of any sword technique i've ever seen...SHUKUCHI...thumpthumpthumpthump...kick ass foot speed.

Yeah i agree, it's one of the best anime shows ever. In fact i even started collecting them^^.Anyway all aspects of the show are really cool. Who are your favourite characters?

Yeah, another masterpiece in the history of Japanimation. Rurouni Kenshin, a wandering swordsman who vowed never to kill again after his past sins that are especially shown throughout the 4 OVA's. Living as a Non-Hitokiri, isn't really easy to a former Battosai. I liked the way, the Mangaka tries to tell this kinda story and development process of the main Character Kenshin and the friends around him, as well as his opponents, and former opponents.
The whole Anime could have been perfect,... if there wasn't this unsatisfying seisouhan OVA- ending.
The Manga was totally perfect,... I mean rather the volumes 18-28...

Yeah this is some of the best stuff put there.
The anime is good, but I didn't like the story arcs that the anime team came up with after the Kyouto Arc. Make no mistake, I'm not saying the anime it's bad or anything, quite the opposite. But if you liked the anime, you should check the manga out. The manga is way better than the anime, specially in the final story arc which never made it to anime except for a few scenes and short description in the Seisouhen OVAs

Rurouni kenshin reminiscence is one of the best anime ever in my opinion and much greter than the series or the movie. the character designs are fantastic and the animation looks good too~ but the real highlight is the story... i love this cruel love story with some good looking samurai fights.

I agree with that. I liked the Samurai X storyline better when it was in the manga, because Kenshin was more like his actual goofy self. I like goofy Kenshin.
I never saw the actual anime though. I could never find torrents for it for some reason and now I just don't care to. I've read the entire manga.
I wouldn't go so far as to call it the best manga ever. It's got some good qualities and cool characters but I never liked it as much as I liked other manga. I never cared for the KenshinXKaoru pairing myself, and sometimes I just didn't find the character's personalities completely believable. Plus I never really enjoy it too much when the mangaka compromises with his audience (not killing Kaoru like Watsuki had thought of doing) though the Kenshin ending wasn't all too bad.
I did think there was some hilarious moments when Ken and Hiko Seijuro (his old master) were training together. Hiko was a pretty awesome guy. "The day that I'd actually be glad to get hugged by a man hasn't dawned yet." Sanosuke too.

I found the movies( Depicting the start and end of kenshin's life) very nice. Great animation for its age... The series was alright. It had some dry spots here and there. Oh how i wish they showed relationships there more clearly. you know... all that " look back at me" stuff. Its very heart wrenching watching the characters ignore their feelings... Sigh

This anime is one of the classics. like the famous naruto and bleach, in it's time, it HAD the popularity of Naruto AND bleach combined...until it got licensed and totally jacked up by Cartoon Network. o whellz, things have to come to an end also i guess. T~T
This OVA has been praised by most people to be the best anime. I myself think it's one of the best anime also. :)
I'only seen the final " The Chapter of Atonement " because in Germany only this DVD was handet out . -how stupid to to show the final first- But i collectet the manga row compleatly and I try to get the OVAs in English.

Yeahhhh A good anime. It can make you fun, and can make you cry. I have read the manga and watched anime, too. It can be a perfect anime of Samurais.
I love all of characters in this anime, some characters make me hard to understand them. They all have the feeling of agony, and the thinking of death, or alive. The story is also very good, good for you to think about history of Japan, and the ideas of life.^_^
