This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

I'd say it's about the story cuz characters just come in second. There was an anime that I used to watch when I was still a kid (can't remember the title though). The character design was awful and so does most of the drawings, but the story was great! It had left an everylasting impression on me. The characters are part of the story that's why they just come second. But of course the story and the characters usually becomes tied since it's the characters that attracts most viewers and readers.

The plot. charcters and style mean little when you have a ripper plot. you might have the most impressive cast but they will have nothing to do otherwise.

music, animation, timing, visuals, dialogue and other stuff all make up the importance of the show.

The most important thing in anime is the story. If you have a great story then you are going to have great characters. Anime characters alone, no matter how good they are, cannot make a good series. It takes a good plot, and some decent characters to make a good anime series.

Okay, to put it simple. A good storyline is one of the most important issues in any sort of films, whether it is Anime or real film or even Videogames. But, a good storyline cannot function, if it is not well converted, and by that I mean Action, in other words. A good storyline in an Action based Anime, for example, can never be good, when the Action is not well animated and choreographed. There were quite a few well drawn Anime that disappointed me when regarding those aspects.

Furthermore, related to a good story and Action choreography is the development of the main Characters of that particular Anime,... and when even certain minor Character have the chance to shine for a particular audience and fan community,... that is even better. Because sometimes, some minor Characters just need to steal the show prior to the main Characters. Otherwise the plot of the storyline will always be the same and too much mainstream-based,... insttead of being flexible.

Well, as Martial Arts fan, and Martial Arts-Action-specific, I would say the Action choreography has a very tight advantage over the storyline. I mean, I do not say that a stroyline development is not important, BUT in ths case, Martial Arts fans, and fans of good Action performance would pay more attention to "how the Action in that Anime-Genre is performed, rather than hearing too much talking"
Street Fighter, the animated movie and Street Fighter 2 Vctory are good examples of good Fight choreography despite the simple-(minded) story... and as I said, in this case that isn't even the main factor... the main factor is the performance of the Action, not the storyline...
There are very few Martial Arts-based Action Anime that have both an interesting storyline plus a good Action Choreography... and one of them is...

Rurouni Kenshin

It is a Masterpiece of Martial Arts Epos showing very deep content of a detailed into deep Character development, their emotion, and the relationship of the main character's emotion colliding with the one of his friends, and his most bitter adversaries... I can write pieces of it right now,... but that's a longer story which I may tell later...

If for any reason a Martial Arts based Anime has a bad storyline AND moreover bad fight choreography... it is simply trash!! simply put...

As for me, the most important is interesting scenario, when script sucks, anime sucks as well, no metter if all characters are incredibly cute and so on.
another thing is - there must be action, agree with Maxi-Ryu99 martial art is perfect for it! Especially in Naruto ^^
also there must be some philosoph, or something, when anime meaningless it's borring
and ofcourse - humor, the main point, but it must be good humor, again when it's stupid - it sucks

I know what I'm talking about,... I think that in general Anime is mainly made for Action besides a good storyline, no matter the genre, be it Action, be it, Comedy, ... Drama,... or whatsoever.

A good Anime is one in which Storyline is combined together with phenomenal Animation-Action, add some sarcastic humor into it and here you go.

What a good Anime shouldn't have are mainstream storylines and in a ddition to that mainstream finishing moves like in Sailormoon or other magical girl series... but IMO Sailormoon is in the mean time the worst mainstream product that has ever been created.

Humor is good in certain situations and according to certain Man or subcharacters,... BUT as soon as it starts getting too ridiculous, it's getting retarded and too bored after a while,... that shouldn't be happening in an A-rank Anime.

There are however exceptions within the Mainstream Anime which depend on personal prefeerences... the one that I liked best are Dragonball Z and GT and Saber Rider (aka Seijushi Bismarck). Those were really good and entertaining mainstream Anime...

Me thinks everything is important,'cause it doesn't matter if the plot is extraordinary if the characters aren't that good...all the elements of anime are in a prefect balance and they're all important...:3
