This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

A WORD FROM DIAS

THIS THREAD CONTAINS POTENTIAL SPOILERS. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Imagine you spent hours watching that thrilling and exciting brand new anime series, and after the last episode you ask: "So? What happens now?" Or you say "Holy ####, what a big waste of my precious time!"

Have this ever happend to you?

I think everyone, EVERYONE, that watched Evangelion knows what I am talking about. And it's not the only one. I can list hundreds of disappointing ending animes, but I will only list the most:

- top dissapointing goes to KareKano: the last screen show only the word "continues"...
- Evangelion: I don't even call that an ending. And when I watched the End of Evangelion movie, I got even more disappointed...
- Rurouni Kenshin: c'mon... after Shishio's saga, the anime is totally non-sense. Read the manga to know the real ending...
- Love Hina: same as above - read the manga...
- more recently, Elfen Lied: What the f### happened there?

Note that these are great series and I love all of then, and that's why a poor ending is so frustrating.

Now, what was your top disappointing ending?

Yeah a lot of the best anime's have some of the worst endings.
A couple of frustraiting one's for me

* Comic Party: Made me made cause it just ends. I was very upset. But I did not know they were doing a follow-up series "Comic Party: Revolution" hope they don't leave me hanging at the end of this series I will be so mad.

* Honey and Clover: best anime I've seen so far. But it kinda dragged on very slowly in the end. And I felt they could have gone just a little further on with it.

* DragonHalf: 2 episodes that's all. They didn't even finish the story line. It had the potential to be one of the best anime's but they didn't take it far enough.

I agree with both of you..
Evangelion,
Rurouni Kenshin,
Love Hina,
Comic Party
Honey and Clover,&
DragonHalf

these animes really made me feddup like sux in the endings..

besides that, nother anime that i feel it bad is tenjho tenge...yea its a really nice anime.nice storyline, special characterlistics, boobies here and there, pantyhost here and there.really nice..

but the anime end up so fast!and the way it ends like still plenty of things didnt say.the growing of the main characters and the story after...only 24 episodes, all talk bout aya's brother..how he become demon and bla bla bla..then nevermine...just few sux that it comes to end...

but the manga, still continue!!the lace that the animes ends are at the volume 6 or 7 of the manga.now the manga has come to volume 12..horrible huh??

luckily i has read the manga too.i discovered theres some nice place to stop the anime,i don't understand why it ends at episode 24??!!just strange!!

another project of OH GREAT! is air gear, hope even it comes out in animes, don't end up like tenjho tenge again.gona dissapoint us even the story is good or what ..

Rurouni Kenshin will always be one of my favourite animes. The Samurai X four part prequel Reminiscence and 2 part sequel Seisouhen tug at the heartstrings and are so well made. As Dsugi says, after the Shishio arc, it tailed off and became very average if not boring, however the manga more than makes up for it. The manga is excellent. If only they could have gone on to bring the issues and storylines the manga dealt with to the anime series. Im off to petition then..;-P

I used to love watching Inuyasha. Near the end, they just kind of slacked off and eventually it ended pretty wierd and lame. It wasn't complete at all. D:

I am not sure about Honey and Clover. I still think that the ending of Honey and Clover is missing the conclusion. However, at the end, Takemoto really did what he wants to do for the entire series and he gives the conclusion about everybody around him. I still want to see how other characters deal with their problems in the ending. Honey and Clover really leaves audiences a blank thought.

Inuyasha is a bad one. Hey c'om, at least they need to kill the bad guy or something. They just show that INuyasha and others run toward the sunset. (yeah right, very romantic, I think) It is just weird. It is even weirder than HOney and Clover. Still too many unsolved problems. However, I think it is the author's style like she did with Ranma 1/2.

Thank god, I thought I might have been the only one who felt that about Honey and Clover. I kept telling myself there has to be more. They couldn't just leave it at that. I think they had atleast a few more episodes they could have done. Or maybe the fact that it's over is kinda just sad, it's just one of those anime's. Just like Azumanga Daioh, I didn't want that one to end.

These aren't exactly new, but nevertheless...

Tenchi Muyo, Ranma ½, Oh! My Goddess!, and Inuyasha, to name a few. They all share one, common problem; fillers after fillers after fillers, meaning that these series never got a proper ending. Or if there was one: it came too late, too unsatisfyingly after the fillers had shred the story to pieces.

Then there are series like Outlaw Star; they proceed somewhat smoothly towards the end, but then the plot takes a totally far-fetched turn and spins some sheit to your face that should be "the end." Or worse: you can guess what the ending will be even before you have seen half of the serie (like characters that are "doomed" to pair up).

AIR - awesome series, but the ending was kinda confusing & sad..needed a better one.

I think that Angel Sanctuary deserve a medal in great serie / poor ending.. I know it's three ovas that cover only three/four manga but how can they do that...! Where I live it was hard, at the time the AS OVA got out, to get the manga... so imagine my deception when I saw at the end Game Over or To be continue? They even introduce two new character extremelly important to the story... I was totally desperate and search everywhere if there was a fourth one... I found none and learned it was only made to make us buy the manga! :(

It took me almost one year before I could get the first manga of it and trust me I bought all of them :D
After reading it, I was more frustrated with the OVA. They're great but it miss a great load of stuff because they decided to cut it short... I mean an anime doesn't have to be like the manga but I like when things end... I don't like non-ending story anime...

Sorry if it seems rude. I didn't intend too it's just that when I star talking about this I can't seem to stop hehe ;)

There quite a few anime out there that have endings I don't like, but the ones that stand out in my mind are
- Junni Kokki (it's so obvious that they were planning to have more since they spend several episodes preparing the audience for the next arc and it never came.... >__>)
- Get Backers (it just ended. The story arc was finished, but it seemed like there was going to be more. I think that there were more episodes planned, but were just cancelled for some strange reason)
- Elfied Lied (it's really killing me whether the girl that steps through the door in the very last scene is Lucy or not)
- Gundam SEED Destiny (it was so predictable! I mean, you knew Rey was going to die, and probably Dullindal as well. Kira was going to beat Rey and Athrun was going to beat Shinn. Plus they didn't tell you what happens to all the characters after the war)
- Hikaru no Go (I'm putting this here for another reason. I absolutely LOVED the ending of Hikago, but I was hoping to have everything in the manga animated. They simply ended it before the Hokuto Cup prelims. I was kind of appeased by the New Years Special, but I still really want to see the Hokuto Cup arc animated)
- Mai-HiME (I absolutely HATED the ending for Mai-HiME. Part of what made it so good was all the angst that came with it, but the end was so happy and hopeful and everything just happened to work out perfectly. They should have just kept all the characters who died dead and not brought back)

Officially, Juuni Kokki is not finished: you could say it is on hiatus. They still plan on one day returning to it and finishing the series. If they do, they will make many, many people happy ;)

GetBackers is one I was disappointed in: there were so many subplots that were incomplete. I now collect the manga, hoping that they will be completed one day ;) Elfen Lied is the same, and if they ever release the manga in English I will collect it too! Shinseiki Evangelion is the perfect example of good series, HORRIBLE ending; Saishuu Heiki Kanojo and Mahoromatic ~Motto Utsukushii Mono~ are just as bad. Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou needed just one or two more episodes to have ended at a decent point, so it is one of the worst: so close, yet so far! I am sure I could come up with many more, but they are probable the ones that annoyed me the most.
