Great Series, Poor Endings
Well I'm fine with a bad ending as long as it is an ending... Most of my gripes are about series that stopped either due to budgetary, lack of source material, or lack of fan response.
Final Fantasy Unlimited - Well this one ended up being a crapfest most of the way... but that it didn't end *GAH* I have never hated a series i own this much
Berserk - I hate to say it but one of my favorite animes will most likely never get more made... yeah i'm just another one of those people who whine about not getting enough berserk...
Ninja Resurection - I bought on VHS this thinking that it would be a sequel to Ninja Scroll (Thanks stupid marketing dept) and right when they start to amp it up... BAM! you don't get no more... ; ;
FLCL - I love this series. I don't think I'd ever want it to end... and the way the left it means they could continue it... but i honestly don't know if i'd want em too... but my brain keeps sayin... OHHH you want to see more of kickass space pirate

Wolf`s Rain`s ending is totally non-sense.
Did you guys watch Wolf's Rain the movie ending? Well, I watched the TV series and then watched the movie. It makes more sense. I Don't think Wolf's Rain Ending is bad. It is good according to the nature rule and everything.
Some of anime series have sad ending but they are not consider POOR. I think sometimes we have to change the way we watch anime. You just can't watch happy ending all the times, you will get bored of that. (been there done that) So I watched some animes that have sad ending, it must be disappointed because you want the main character to be with someone or alive...however, life is not always that pretty......
Cowboy bebop ending is a kinda sad for me it is a little disappointed but I think that is how the author ways of thinking. The same thing with Samurai Champloo. I really want Jin, Mugen and Fuu to be together and continue their journey...but they broke up and everybody has their own way of living. Well, it is still better than Mugen and Jin died.

I agree about Evangelion. I still joke with my room mate about it. "Congratulations!" lol He claims to get it and says it is a valid ending, but I say no way. It was going along so well up until that point. The anime that had the ending so lame, they had to make an alternate ending in the form of a movie. Two movies if you count the two separate peices that make up End of Eva. (Credits right in the middle of the movie?)
I haven't seen the end of InuYasha because I've just been watching it on Adult Swim, but I caught one of the movies they aired (I think it was Castle Beyond the Looking Glass) and they killed Naraku at the beginning of it. Turns out he faked it at the end but... Maybe they finally kill him in another movie? Or...maybe they'll make a movie soon where they will? I dunno.
I recently watched the anime called Gunbusters. For anyone who hasn't seen it that wants to and doesn't want to be spoiled on the end, don't read on.............. Anyway, its a pretty good series, even if it does tend to "create" a bit of science to aid its explanation on how things work. One thing that bothered me is that you don't actually get to see the Gunbuster robot in action until the last two or three episodes. Granted, the series is only like 6 or 7 episodes long, but still. They relate very well about the differences in time passage while traveling in space vs while being on Earth. A person on the ship would still be 17 when they left, but when they got back everyone else would have aged 5 or 10 years. Anyway, the end wasn't totally disappointing, but it was sorta strange. The main two characters who pilot the Gunbuster make a bold decision to stay behind and activate a rather large bomb to destroy the enemy while everyone else warps out. Trouble is, they will never know what year it'll be when they get home. Suddenly you see "10,000 years later" on the screen. My jaw dropped. They're still alive and just now reaching Earth. Only few days or so have passed for them, but wow. So they get there and can't recognize any of the landscape anymore and there are no lights. They think humanity has perished. Suddenly all these lights come on and spell out (in Japanese) "Welcome Home" and the E on home is backwards for some reason. Totally strange. So they start to cry with joy and eject from Gunbuster to fly down to Earth and it ends. We don't get to see what happens to them, what Earth looks like, what the people look like, or what in the world is going on down there and just how they remembered that two women would be returning from a galactic space war from 10,000 years ago. I mean, its great that they survived, but I would imagine that humans would have evolved into something...totally unfamiliar to them. They would probably be put in some sort of museum or zoo for exhibition or a lab for study. Since the E was backwards, they probably speak some entirely different language now or all communicate by telepathy. *shakes head* I just kept thinking "how horrible." lol
Another anime ending I didn't like at all was Chrno Crusade. I mean, they go through all of their trials and hardships together and then they both die. Both main characters just die. Its so horribly sad that I couldn't stand it. The rest of the anime was great. It just ends on such a downer.

For me it has to be Saint seiya ending and evangelion. It didn't live up to my expectations.

Gundam seed destiny. so disappointing! i thought it was going to be a GREAT series since gundam seed was so goood. in the beginning, i have to admit i was really drawn to gundam seed dsetiny with the great soundtrack and animation and plot. but after a while, it just got all pointless and it wasn't going anywhere. so disappointing X_X the ending to me was terrible. there should've been so much more stuff. they didn't even cover everyting completely :(
I so agree with your Rurouni Kenshin comment..I stopped watching Kenshin not long after the Shishio's arc ^^;; Too bad..it was such a good series. For me there are 2 most dissapointing ending from 2 anime that I watched not too long ago. First, it's Last Exile...maybe I'm biased towards Alex Row and Dio..but I think the ending for those 2 characters is just terrible. And the main charas just go on happy and celebrating with their life..really annoyed me >_< and Samurai 7 also have disappointing ending..what with Kyuuzo died from a stray bullet..ah..just bad ^^;;

Mai Hime had by far the suckiest ending, ever.
And that's all I have to say about that.

Full metal alchemist was good, but it can be better, 51 caps for nothing :(
OMG! It would definatley have to be Chrono Crusade! Such an awesome show but it had the worst ending! I hate what happens to Chrono and Rosette. So sad!
Gundam seed destiny sucked...lameless show I've ever watch and the ending was just...BLAB! Ugh... Chrono Crusade had a bad ending too...but some how I kinda like it now.
Chrno Crusade, the manga was awsome and the first eps good, but the end. RAWR! Kinda ruined everything.

For me its Mai Hime or Tenjo Tenge.
Mai Hime most definitely. Funny how the ending can absolutely destroy the entire series. I had plans on buying it when it came out here in the US, but the ending changed my mind. Mahoromatic had a pretty bad ending too.
