I dont know why some people keep say that yaoi is hentai, when they havnt seen any yaoi before. it is REALLY NOT. do they just feel like assuming gay anime=porn?

well, that's up to what the other people thinks about it... in the society, homosexuals are still consider a taboo... but to me it is not as bad as porn. Even though it is a gay anime, but there are feelings involved in the relationship unlike porn, which is i don't think involves even a single bit of true feelings in it (well, i haven't watched it b4 but everyone knows that i guess) People who categorize yaoi as porn have not really try to understand what those things are.... Or maybe they DON'T even have the intention to understand it. That is as bad as doesn't know the difference between the word porn or gay. That's all I can say... ^^

I am very in love with Yami no Matsuei, otherwise known as Descendants of Darkness. The love between Asato and Hisoka is pure cuteness.

you know, that's precisely the problem with a lot of issues--people just tend to oppose somthing without really understanding it, or only make loose associations which are often too general. Who says yaoi is porn? it depends on the level--some of it may indeed be so, but a lot are not. Also, why are we talking about yaoi here...this is a shounen-ai thread isn't it? Shounen-ai is MUCH FAR from porn...please, anyone who thinks shounen-ai = porn insults everyone who truly appreciates true feelings.
But I think anime/manga (i.e 2D mediums) should be seperated from reality, that's the whole point they exist--it's fantasy. Homosexuality is indeed a debatable question in society, but we shouldn't only consider that when watching/reading anime/manga. I admire the tension between characters created by homosexuality (and come on, sometimes, they're just HOT XD), but that doesn't mean I agree with it in real life.
