Girl On Bench

Here's my first wallpaper attempt.
I know it's terrible, but I'd love to learn how I could improve it. Thanks!

View points to this one, The use of a stock photo aint bad as long as the final wallpaper isnt too foto-ish. I think its hard to add some new elements to a foto like this so I suggest using a different background and dont forget to put your signature on it before you submit it / someone steals it. Goodluck!

It's pretty good! The girl is very scketched out so maybe adding some filters or something to the stock photo and make it look more scketchy as well will help make her seem more like a part of the image. Also maybe adding a shadow of the girl in the photo will help a lot.
All in all I think the concept is interesting, especially for a first wallpaper, and I hope to see more from you in future. :3 Hope I helped out a bit.

The stock photo looks too real for the character , but good start .

Nice start but it does look to real
The lighting doesn't match - the highlight & shadow on the girl's face indicate a light source coming from the left (her right) whereas the background has light that is coming from behind her. Also, she appears to be floating off the bench somewhat, you'll need to adjust the placement and anchor her by giving her a shadow.
I'm also not too keen about the realistic photo background, but as others have suggested, some filtering and so on can help to remedy that. But more importantly, you'll need to take care of the lighting discrepancy that I mentioned.
Good luck!
